Agreed. I for one think he looks the part as Batman as shown below... Now we need his Bruce Wayne side. I say if he nails the Bruce Wayne side everyone will be like perfect casting...

I think Marvel has done a fantastic job. But it isn't the only way to do it. I just want good movies. If WB takes another route but delivers quality, at the end of the day that's all that matters to me.
 
I can't wait to see a statement from Affleck himself about his casting, how excited he is blah blah blah ya know.
 
Can't believe im stoked for this now.

Just heard that Affleck already started intense training every single day. It's August, they're only shooting in February. God damn! And Affleck is already a big guy! The biggest dude to play Batman so far...

I think we might get the Man Of Steel versus an Arkham City Batman. 2 superheroes who look straight off the page, straight out of animation. I have a feeling Affleck is gonna look like a monster come time for filming.

They'll see the trailer and say this is the best movie ever made. Then they'll see the movie and say it's the worst thing they ever saw. We've been down this road before.

Hell no, he's not. He has too many interests as a director to play this character six times at this point in his career. He just won't do it.

WB is not building a cinematic universe in the way fans want. I still contend that they're just doing a trilogy that began as a Superman trilogy but now has been converted into a trilogy about how the three greatest superheros came together.

Of course, this is my opinion, but this is my gut feeling on what WB's doing.

After 2 or 3 films with Affleck Bats they can go for solo films with nearly every character of DC. They can mix solo movies with Justice League movies after 2 or 3 films with Cavill and Affleck. Jesus, affleck will not play batman 6 times that's ridiculous.

Agreed.. Affleck is a big guy... and if he bulks up like Henry did man he will be beasting... I hope Camera tricks makes Henry taller like in the comics and anime.

If I could predict that I'd run out and buy a Lottery ticket for my next trick lol. The fact the reaction is very mixed gives no gauge other than people are passionate about Batman.

Not sure what point you are making. I find Marvel's output about as interesting as paperclips, so the fact WB isn't aping their strategy is a good thing, for me.

I commend WB for taking it film by film, rather than committing to some dubious objective of getting as many costumed heroes into one movie as possible.

We're thinking alike, you and I. Honestly, if Marvel would've followed Avengers with it's sequel, I might be more forgiving towards the universe. And frankly, with Whedon talking about the damn film on a daily basis, I feel like I've seen the damn thing already.

I agree with this tremendously. It's why I was hoping they casted someone under 35. Oh well. It is what it is.

Maybe they're fooling us and Affleck is Luthor?! LOL!

I can only hope.

Very cool. If bennifer looks like that in the cowl, it'll look awesome. I have more reservations with goyer writing and the pacing. Batman begins was great but you missed a lot of inspirational stuff with superman.
 
I don't care if Affleck looks big so much as I care about his speed... I want some badass fast fighting scenes in this movie. Its time to take Batman combat to a whole new level.

WB strategy is to make alot of money, Hence why this movie is comeing out next year.
 
Affleck will ALWAYS get hate. Just like Tom Cruise, Dicaprio, Pitt, Damon and Gosling will always get some hate. It's just the way of the world when it comes to pretty boy actors who has success early in their career. Hell we saw how the press tried to kill Costner's career in the 90's. There are some who STILL swear he' one of the worst actors working. It's just the way these things work.

For the record Affleck made a lot of unfortunate decisions with movies after Good Will Hunting but he's rebounded in a big way. Film fans tend to respect him (we know he has limitations as an actor as do MOST stars, including Bale) even if the fanboys don't....yet.

He looks like batman(in costume), that chin and that frame...
He looks and acts like bruce wayne, layered pubic persona and all...
He's capable of charisma and gravitas and assertive action...

It's such an obvious casting choice with the only down side being a decade old tainted public image. Ripe for fan boy overreaction.
This reminds me of the early RDJ days, only RDJ was a has been.
