I just hope he doesn't use his daredevil voice. I can see him going with it just to differentiate from Bale's take, but I hated his soft whisper for Daredevil.

I'll give Affleck the benefit of the doubt and he's come a long way since Daredevil(see Oscar Winner Argo), and getting some serious talent is always a plus. Sure there's still plenty of Christian Bale fans and will be for a while, but what do you expect? At least with Daredevil we saw him do some actual martial arts rather than rudimentary slap boxing.

Plus, Christian Bale couldn't fend off dogs, how could he stand next to Batman?

i can't help but laugh at how big this has become. This movie won't hit the big screen for almost 2yrs but its on tip of nearly everyone's tongue.

I have little doubt Affleck is going to be anything less than decent in the role. The guy has a resume that speaks for itself when ever they say his name in a report it is always followed by 2 time academy award winner.

It is a joke to think this guy will put on a performance that would make anybody cringe. John Hamm said when he starred in the Town alongside Affleck who got jacked for the role he was ashamed to take off his ****. He takes this **** serious by 2015 when the movie comes out we all are going to be leaving that theater like " That was GODAMN BATMAN!!".

WB is actively setting the stage for the buzz film of 2015. That's quite the accomplishment if it happens. Looking at where both of these properties were less than a decade ago I'd equate that to a "feat".

I guess Disney can still get the buzz wagon back with some star wars casting announcements.

Look, Ben knows what he is getting into.

The first weekend will be massive.

After that the film rests on Ben's performance as Bats/Bruce. He is taking on that huge challenge, after the Bale run, and I am cautiously optimistic Ben is going to blow this film away, out of the park, to the next level - you pick the metaphor. Its riding on him, he knows it and he has stepped up to the challenge. For that alone he deserves credit.

So now that the news of Affleck=Batman came about and all this momentum, interest and curiosity rose for the film, any ideas for how much it'll make at the Box Office?

Still terrible choice no matter how this site tries to spin it.

Superman franchise and JLA is doomed and can't be taken serious now.

People will go out of curiosity anyway. All nerds protesting will be there at midnight, and kids will automatically go because it's Batman vs. Superman. And women....yeah, Affleck and Cavill onscreen...already a lock.

Kilmer is lucky to escape the legacy of Clooney. Most fans don't blame him for Batman Forever :)

WB top brass will all die of a heart attack if it doesn't make a billion. They expected MOS even to make a billion.

A movie featuring two of the greatest and most well-known comic book characters of all time is gonna sell like crazy no matter what. However, it's way too damn early to even predict.

What can't be taken serious is you. Your posts have been so ridiculous hahaha.

It'll do lots better than MOS easilly. Around 1 billion at least I had thought before. With Ben on board now and if he has real creative input it could beat TDKR. I don't think it will match AV2 though. Still, beating TDKR means Batman 1 and JL will follow in short order.

You can't be taken seriously Obi Wan. I'm pumped for this. I think Affleck is going to be great! I loved the manip that someone made earlier...I wish we had more manips!!!!

So Zack Snyder said in his statement:
"Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry's Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can't wait to work with him."

I say in reality he bears the scars of a seasoned famous "pretty boy" actor who has since climbed to Oscar worthy work now that he's older.

Since Henry Cavill is still a star on the rise, I think it's similar to having a young Superman confront a more experienced Batman. That's really what they (WB and Snyder)
were going for.

I didn't think avengers would make more than Rises but it happened...what's to say it won't?

That new article about why Ben said yes seems to imply Snyder sought him out a good while back. Beginning of the year back, around the time MOS wrapped and the execs had seen the finals.

I suppose this puts the kaabosh on any of the mal contents around here that keep insisting Batman was WB's knee jerk reaction to MOS's slightly more than solid performance and mixed criticisms.

Then again, it's just a rumor.

Could easily have been for a different role, say Lex Luthor. There's too much evidence against this idea that Batman was always planned to appear in Mos2.
