Ben Affleck IS Bruce Wayne/Batman - Part 3

All of you claiming that there is no evidence that Ben Affleck has engaged in sexual assault:

He has been on Twitter to apologise for committing sexual assault.

Oh, and groping at a woman’s breast without her consent is called sexual assault. It isn’t ‘a bit of fun’ it isn’t ‘harmless’ it isn’t ‘not that bad.’

It is sexual assault.

Clearly Affleck has behaved in a innapropriate way, no question about that. He after all apoligized for it. What I also find stupid is that people are posting that video with the reporter that was a running gag/joke between those two. People like Hughes from Forbes and Marc Bernardin are all "shocked" about that and re-tweeting and posting that without checking the facts.

"quality journalism" that.

I'm giving it A 50% he'll do press, depending if the accusations keep on mounting. I hope they'll ask the cast members if they're OK with being around him.

Wither he comes back as Batman, if this situation gets worse, he'll be gone. If WB wants him to stay and if he wants to stay, he'll stay.

It'll all up to WB at this point.

Why I'm not surprised ?

Enjoyed reading this train wreck of a thread while having my breakfast, the morning's entertainment was provided, give yourselves a round of applause.

All I want to say is that I wouldn't group Affleck's behavior & Weinstein's under the same umbrella by calling them both 'sexual assault' because to me that implies that the likes of slapping/pinching/cupping (etc) a body part is on level terms with both rape/attempted rape. I realise it's just semantics, but words matter.

He is not in the same category as Harvey Weinstein but he has clearly behaved in inappropriate manner. I doubt WB would want him to do press tours.

Jesus Christ. No wonder there’s a culture of this crap in our society.

Sexual assault is any... get that? ... ANY type of sexual contact or behaviour that happens without consent of the person involved.

Sexual assault does not mean rape or attempted rape... because that is rape.

Words do matter, yes. And just because it’s uncomfortable, it doesn’t makes those words matter any less.

Glad someone else picked up on that, I was just writing nearly the same response.

ANY unwanted attention at any level is sexual assault, regardless of gender. As is said, rape is the ultimate distinction of horror for the victim.

It's bad optics. I mean, you have Gal likely taking point in the press tour after the celebrated success of Wonder Woman, a movie meant to usher a fresh age of woman representation in Hollywood. Then there's Ben Affleck to her left...

Affleck allegedly did this to comedian John Mulaney's wife Annamarie Tendle, "He walked by me, cupped my butt and pressed his finger into my crack." If true, how would you word this, if it isn't assault to you?

Yeah he's not doing any promo tours

I'm going to be frank....Affleck is a walking PR disaster and quite frankly every situation that's made him look bad in the public eye is down to the choices he's made.

If this doesn't die down WB will see this as good enough reason to get rid of him in the role and they'll be right to. Whether some of the Affleck supporters/bros like it or not he's currently playing a character especially popular with children and the whole Weinstein mess and his own hypocritical history of behavior around women being dragged up in the press makes his position undesirable.

Sorry guys but 'separate the art from the artist' in the wake of what's happened isn't something I'll be personally using to excuse despicable behavior from now. If my local baker pulled the same **** do you think 'Well he bakes a mean loaf of bread' is in any way a reasonable excuse?

I remember when I solved the sexual assault crisis on an online superhero forum

Rhetorical sarcasm isn't the best way to make an argument, especially when it's a straw man argument. Keeping an open-mind until/if more evidence comes forward is not the same thing as assuming the accuser is wrong. It is simply keeping an open-mind.

Pretty much how I feel about the situation. There's few things I despise more than being called a victim blamer for being willing to see how this whole thing plays out first, before rushing to condemn Affleck for it.

When did I call anyone a victim blamer?

We've already seen how this has played out. We have video of Ben groping a woman, an apology from Ben himself admitting to acting inappropriately, and more stories about similar behavior coming to light. Sorry that this doesn't match up to what you specifically want to believe about the man, but like I said: where there's smoke, there's fire.

Should I wear a blindfold next time I go outside?

I understand what you're trying to say and it makes sense on a theoretical level. But some women can find displeasing that I'm holding the door for her, that my glimpse brushed her since she's attractive but she does not find me attractive so she's experiencing something unpleasant. Because this is what "ANY unwanted attention at any level" means. By this definition every man has committed a sexual assault.

Mandon obviously means any unwanted sexual physical contact with another person at any level.

Sexual harassment any sexual assault are two different things. I can't believe this is the conversation that's happening right now. Smh. Ben did some stupid college age frat boy things. Ive never personally touched a woman in any way like that who wasn't my girlfriend or something of the like, doing something like that is WRONG, but to equate what Ben did with what Weinstein has made a career of doing is ignorant.

I think this will blow over just like it blew over when Bale assaulted his mom and sister in 08.

When has anyone said this is equal to what Wesintein has done?

But yes, I think this has a decent chance of blowing over in time to have zero real effect on JL.

I really hope so. It would really suck to see Affleck out of promotional tours, considering Cavill's already not part of them.

No, apparently he jumped into her bed and also asked a male crew member to expose himself to the actress at one point.
