I was basing on BN's "Well, if you is going to cheat, she better be hotter than your previous," so I didn't know he was not cheating, is he divorced or in separation? lol.

Anyway, we only had major hits with quitting as director of a pop cultural figure, groping, Weinstein "does he know" crap, and controversy of possible cheating before divorce, all in the same year (2017) and we are still discussing whether he will stay or not in the fan community this month.

Sure it is, its wrong and immoral, but that's a personal matter. Its not something like sexual assault or like Whedon who was using his power over young women. Didnt he already have accusations of cheating on Jennifer Garner? I'm pretty sure you didnt care about that back in 2016 when he was on the back of a great Batman performance. And that's okay.

And btw we have zero evidence that he has cheated. Even the tabloids are saying thats not the case.

Momoa was under fire for his "rape jokes", Johny Depp has been accused of domestic abuse, and yet he is one of the leading characters of a huge kidfriendly franchise.People didnt care one iota about Mel Gibson taking over SS2, despite his very controversial past. Henry Cavill, who you are campaigning for to reprise the role of Superman(which I support btw), has faced a LOT OF public outcry over his me too comments, and the fact that he dated a 19 yr old when he was over 30.

Lets not play double standards here. If you want Affleck out of the role, cool, but lets not make up reasons.

I think the very simple fact that Matt Reeves hasnt said "of COURSE Ben is playing Batman, why wouldnt he be?" indicates that there trouble behind the scenes and Ben's likely out and has been out for some time. I think WB just doesnt want any more negative press right now so they asked Ben to hold off on announcing his departure until after Aquaman.

ASFAIK we haven't had a direct quote from Matt Reeves about Ben's involvement since last year. Even that article at Deadline said "Matt played coy" but didn't provide a direct quote (despite providing quotes from him on other subjects).

Part of me thinks that the film media is intentionally muddying it up because the uncertainty generates clicks, I mean if someone asked him directly why wouldn't you get a direct quote of that, however vague it may be?

In the video above Matt Reeves' use of "right now" is interesting.

People will spin anything without real proof. Ben hasn't said anything about leaving Batman. He loves the role. He doesn't need to announce anything yet. Its just internet bs. Ben is very proud of BvS and his work with Zac Snyder. JL wasn't his fault but he enjoyed working with the cast and Zac and Joss and being Batman. People just love negativity.
Same with Daniel Craig and 007. He said nobody could get me to dive straight in another Bond movie because they are very exausting so he would rather slash his wists. He needed a break first. People just assume this next Bond will be his last when he never said that.

The difference of course with James Bond is that the studio obviously wanted to keep Craig and ended up offering him an insane payday to come back for Bond 25, which is understandable since he starred in two of the most highly acclaimed and beloved entries of the entire series (Casino Royale and Skyfall).

With Affleck the situation is much murkier since there obviously isn't that level of adoration for the movies Ben has starred in as Batman and the studio itself is in the process of trying to rehabilitate its image and negative reputation....a reputation it garnered in large part to the aforementioned movies. Things get even more complicated by the fact that by all indications, Reeves' film was written for a younger actor, which would be quite an odd thing to do if Ben was supposedly a lock to return. And, as someone here already mentioned, the fact that nobody involved has been able to give a straight answer about whether or not Ben is coming back is also quite telling.

My two cents here: if Ben were coming back, they likely would've announced it at Comic-Con.

I'M WORKING ON IT AND ITS COMING."Then a few months later the studio announced he was done and then they passed the mantle to Reeves. I don't think its unrealistic to think that he's over this whole Batman thing after all of the thrashing BvS and JL did, all that work he put into the role, physical and mental, all that time he dedicated was for nothing.
