I think there's plenty of reason to be excited. First and foremost though, Feige finally has Marvel's flagship property, the face of the company, back in his toy box. He's pulled together crews that have made some quality films with characters that were B-List at most, in the public perception.

If there was any movie besides Avengers where Marvel would be pulling out all the stops, it'd be Spider-Man.

I love me some spiderman but I think Black Panther is the movie Marvel will pull out all the stops. Spiderman has been done sooooooo much. With Black Panther they get to make a statement. As powerful or more as The Wonder Woman movie. Not only will they be trying to disprove the nonsense that Black heroes can't make gangbusters but a 95% black cast that is not starring in a comedy or a civil rights movie.

Civil War. I think it is second only to TDK in the entire genre.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat, and it's a very very very close second.

CW is Marvel's Empire Strikes Back. It's terrific on many levels, and its virtues outweigh its flaws to such an extent that we pretty much ignore them.

Dr Strange and Iron Man are tied for 2nd, they're origin films par excellence, and in 3rd GOTG, a fun and heartwarming Space Opera.

It's funny how The Avengers was once viewed as the ultimate, unbeatable comic book movie, yet here we are...

All of the MCU films are very good, and I think they keep getting better and better. The Winter Soldier is probably my favorite. But I never imagined myself actually watching a Doctor Strange movie and loving it. Marvel rocks.

True, I'd agree with that actually. Except like you said, there's never been a Black Panther movie before. It can be good to great, Ant-Man or Dr. Strange. They don't really have much to lose. Spider-Man needs to be great precisely because we've seen Spider-Man 5 times before.

While I am excited for Black Panther's movie, I've been waiting for Spider-Man to join the MCU for a long time, so I'm more excited for Homecoming. SMH will also be one of Marvel's most diverse films, giving us an accurate depiction of modern day New York City.

I am looking forward to Black Panther as well just because Boseman is so good in the role. But Spidey is Spidey, he is their most popular hero bar none.

Yeah. I mean, truth be told, I'm looking forward to every Marvel film. But Spidey = my #1 :)

If I had to rank my excitement for future films:

  1. Spider-Man: Homecoming
  2. Infinity War/Avengers 4
  3. Guardians of the Galaxy 2
  4. Thor Ragnarok
  5. Black Panther
  6. Ant Man & The Wasp
  7. Captain Marvel

Well funnily enough Spidey is at the bottom at the moment for me. I am just not excited about it at the moment. I think The Vulture is an awful villain also for me.

Vulture may seem like a horrible villain at first glance but if anything he should provide some brilliant action sequences. Granted, I thought that about Electro and Webb dropped the ball hard. But, Toomes can be written in any number of creative ways to add drama to a pretty flat character in the books. And two of the best fight scenes in the series in my opinion were the first Goblin fight in the first movie, and the first fight in Spider-Man 3 against Harry. Both against aerial enemies. With the advances in CGI, the way Spider-Man is animated in the MCU... should be a treat.

Age of Ultron for me. It reminded me of ice cream with not just one of your favorite toppings on it, but with five of them. Hope that makes sense lol.

:woot: sorry

For me Vulture is the worst and least interesting villain out of the main ones in his roster. He may provide good action sequences but for me a Spidey villain should be more than that. I a, actually looking forward to seeing Shocker more. Even with Keaton in the role,

Guardians of the Galaxy would be my choice, but their are so many great films in the mcu, so grateful to be able to experience them

GotG was my favorite, but I think that maybe a couple of others could be considered "better" movies. Maybe it was because GotG pulled me out of my TASM2 and Crapformers: Age of SuckStinkTion funk. I dunno. It was such a fun different movie that it really grabbed me. Well done too as well as being a visually beautiful movie.

I'd add Captain Marvel to the "pull out all the stops" list. I think Marvel is really interested in having a more diverse cast of characters and wants to prove it is financially sound if you have a good product. I really hope DC doesn't botch WW because that's a step in the wrong direction for all of us. I have my doubts about Gadot carrying a movie. Brie not so much......no doubts at all about her ability in fact.

Sorry I am just not a fan of Vulture, as a character or a villain. He is down at the bottom of the Spidey's rogues for me, the ones I know of anyway.

He is actually one villain I hope they change a lot.

I get it. When I updated my signature I had to debate between AoU and CW, which some people might not be able to wrap their head around, haha. But really as much as I like CW and loved the inclusion of Spider-Man, it's kind of like watching mom and dad split up. Which is still brewing in AoU, but we get to see the Avengers put their own quarrels aside to...you know...avenge or whatever.

I'm personally looking forward to seeing Shocker a bit more than Vulture as well. Even though all things considered he is probably even more lame than the Vulture, Herman Schultz just lucked out that a better outfit was drawn for him. I mean, almost every Spider-Man villian has had liberties taken with them, some for better some for worse, I would say not one villain has been adapted 100% accurately in that franchise (in any franchise?), besides mmmaybe DaFoe's Norman Osborn. Or course a Spider-Man villain should provide more than just some great action scenes, but I think the visual variety Vulture offers compared to what we've seen already in the previous 5 movies was a big reason for settling on him. They can rework him into a more compelling character just like Otto Octavius.

Personally I'm holding out for Mysterio.

My list sort of mirrors the order they're coming to the screen. As the date gets closer, I get more pumped.

Spidey drops a little and CM and IW move up a little. Thor maybe too.

Oh, and also.....just kidding....

Mysterio would be cool. I think Kraven the Hunter might have some potential, but I'd call for a redo of this outfit. LOL.

After Dr. Strange a Spider-Man movie in Imax 3D with Mysterio as the main antagonist is even higher on my list of demands.

Kraven could also be cool. There's a lot of ground still to cover when it comes to Spider-Man's rogue gallery. And now we have Marvel steering the ship instead of Sony so we can have some faith that any long-term plan will actually make some damn sense.

That offering would be a must see for me. I'd really like to see someone use the new IMAX 3D camera and shoot a native 3D movie. I think the Russo's are using the new 2D camera for IW and then it's being converted.

I'm a big 3D fan when it's done right and appear to be in the minority. I don't know much about the new IMAX cameras in terms of ease of use. I suppose the 3D camera is more difficult to use? Who said making a cool movie was supposed to be easy anyway?

I saw Hugo in 3D at the theater and again on my home theater. What a gorgeously shot movie that was. I can watch it again for the cinematography alone.
