^I'm suprised to hear anyone say that. It's pretty close to a masterpiece(not quite there, though) and this is coming from a guy who likes NOTHING about DC characters.
Yeah, wasn't a DC comic fan. I always read Marvel, but I still think DC has made the top 2 or 3 Superhero movies ever made. Superman: The Movie is a classic and I don't think any other movie in the genre will ever be as well remembered..except for maybe The Dark Knight (that movie is a classic right out of the gate). Marvel had Spider-man 2 which almost brushed up against the kind of greatness that Superman and the Dark Knight achieved, but not quite there. Ironman felt like it tried to get there too.
But as for the best origin, you just can't beat the care that was given to Superman in that first Donner film.
