Best Zombie Movie of All Time?!

Has anybody seen the French zombie film The Horde? It's pretty good. The only things I didn't like were the fact that I had to read the dialogue in subtitles, and that the zombies were the "new and improved running breed" of zombie.

Personally, I would love to see an American remake of this movie. I think that would be pretty awesome.

try this one:

I watched Pontypool over the weekend, it was definitely an interesting take on zombies.

I watched Rec 3. It wasn't that bad. But I don't think 1 and 2 are that good to begin with. Rec 1 is fun. Rec 2 is boring. Rec 3 has, for the first time, protagonists that you care for. It's not amazing, but it's fun enough. It lacks infected people though, there are not much of them.

I haven't seen any of the Rec movies. They on Netflix?

Just checked. Neither the American nor the original versions are on Netflix. I did watch 2012: Zombie Apocalypse and Zombies! Zombies! Zombies!. First one was okay. the other one was silly as Hell. Kinda like Return Of The Living Dead.

Ever see the interactive zombie adventure on You Tube called Deliver Me To Hell? It's pretty interesting. It was originally done as a promotional thing for a pizza joint. If you could get through the entire adventure without dying, you could win a year's supply of pizza. The contest is long over, but you can still play for fun. Here's the link:

Good luck to those of you who choose to play.

Can't argue with Dawn Of The Dead, but I'd argue that Return Of The Living Dead beats out Shaun Of The Dead. Not that I don't like Shaun, I do, but I like Return a little better.

Night of the Dead is probably the best zombie movie that I saw. It was actually creepy and scary.

Just recently saw Mutant Vampire Zombies In The Hood on Netflix. Not a great zombie movie, but not the worst I've ever seen.

Speaking of Zombies in the hood, I saw a god-awful movie called " Gangs of the Dead ", about a fallen meteor that lands in South Central L.A., and turns the locals into flesh eating zombies while a black and latino gang hold up in an abandon warehous with undercover cops (no joke). Yeah, it was pretty bad.

I did rent a pretty good horror/comedy movie from redbox called " Revenant ", about a US. soldier who gets killed in Iraq, but comes back as a zombie who drinks blood , so he and his bestfriend/roommate become vigilantes and prey on gang members, muggers, and rapists in L.A.

That's almost exactly the same as the plot of Mutant Vampire Zombies In The Hood. Only in that movie it was a solar flare, not a meteor, and it starred C. Thomas Howell (better known as Pony Boy from The Outsiders, or more recently The Reaper from Criminal Minds) as one of the cops.

Superb!thank you for your article,This post has been somewhat of a revelation to me.I just required some information and was searching on Google for it. I visited each page that came on first page and didn’t got any relevant result then I thought to check out the second one and got your blog. This is what I wanted!

I wonder if they both had the same writer ? The only recognizable stars in " Gangs of the Dead " was the guy who played " Reggie " in the Phantasm movies, and the hispanic actor who played " Hector " in the first " The Fast and The Furious ", and the vato who got shot by Darryl in the ass with the arrow on the " Vatos " episode of " The Walking Dead". ( Talk about being type-cast, this dude plays the same roles in every movie/tvshow)

Anyone else hate seeing the Rec movies and 28 Days in this thread?

The original Dawn sets the standard for zombie anything. Dawn just gets it right in terms of look, feel and pace.

Want to give a mention to The Dead. Maybe the best looking zombie film ever and a pretty good movie too. Also Children shouldn't play with Dead Things is an old school favorite that used to scare me as a kid. Yeah I'm getting pretty old.

Is that the film with that annoying, pretentious d-bag that is leading the group in the house? If so, that movie was terrible.

i've always been freaked out by any aspect of zombies, but what really got me was Dawn of the Dead after watching that when I was kid I was never the same.

This was probably mentioned but anybody see the spanish film REC.?

It had a pretty crappy american remake made of it but the original is pretty terrifying.

Pretty much how I remember the movie. And I've seen student films done better than Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things.

I don't hate seeing these movies here. but I like to differentiate zombies and infected people, since zombies are living dead, and infected people never died, but are more ill people.

Also, since night of the living dead, zombies usually eat human flesh, unlike infected people, who are only killing.

That said, I liked the first Rec, but thought the second installment was boring, which is a shame, considering how short it is. The whole segment with the team of young people was uninteresting, and brought nothing to the table.
