Beware the Batman - Part 1

Another great episode. I like how Batman is really great at what he does. He's a true martial artist, a true detective, and he's really smart. He's also a good teacher. But he's not a good Bruce Wayne. I think he will have to learn how to make Bruce more than a mask in season 2. also, I miss Alfred.

A solicitation for the comics pretty much spoils a somewhat-known Batman villain coming to the show:

I'm aware of that, but this is the first time he was outright revealed, instead of them being coy about it.

I think Man-Bat has to be one of the least interesting Batman villains.

From what I understand, Anarky is sort of the main antagonist for this season, not necessarily the whole series. So, assuming this gets picked up for a second season (which I believe it has) I bet we'll see a few more A-listers pop up. Which would be very exciting. I think the tone of this show is great and I'd love to see their interpretations of Freeze, Riddler, Two-Face and of course Joker. Not all at once though. I think slowly doling out the big guns is a good idea, makes it feel like a big deal when they show up (like that reveal of Ra's' body). And I think it's cool that they've chosen the villains for the season to tell a specific story about Bruce's psyche (so they say anyway). That'd be a great approach to take for each season.

To the surprise of no one, CN has pulled off this show, both premieres and reruns, off the schedule.

No, it just means Cartoon Network really wants it to be. They'll dick us around for a couple months and then start new episodes, then probably do the same thing over until they run out of episodes.

Has it been getting poor ratings?

They've been lower than last year's shows, but not a surprise for Saturday Morning cartoons.

Then again, CN didn't do its part by neglecting to actually advertise it and prepare a decent toyline.

Ah jeez it's "Young Justice" all over again. I wonder if no toy income is a factor.

Green Lantern never had toyline.

This sucks to hear. I really enjoyed this show. It gave us a different take on Batman regardless if people agreed or disagreed with it, at least they made an attempt to give us a new Batman series.

And the only toyline they created was with the mcdonalds happy meal from what I know. I may be wrong.

That's baffling, I mean you'd think they'd go out of their to promote a Batman show.

To my knowledge wouldn't this be the first batman cartoon show to be pulled? I mean TAS, Beyond, Justice League (you know Batman was the star of that), The Batman, and Brave and the Bold all had full seasons before officially ending.

But if this is cancelled....isn't this a first?

There's also the 6 inch figure for the batman unlimited series. There will hardly be any significant revenue from that

The first season is almost done in production and it should be fine as long as they eventually air the episodes.

Though it wouldn't surprise me if they "neglect" to renew it, thus making it the most short-lived Batman cartoon at 26 episodes.

My brother had the first four episodes on the DVR so I decided to give the show a chance and was surprised by how into it I got. The last time I watched CN was when my dad would let me stay up and watch Futurama and X-Men Evolution, so at least a decade, but it sounds like I shouldn't be surprised by this move? I really hope it doesn't get cancelled, the villains were a bit of a hit or miss, but I still enjoyed Batman and Katana.

I think I saw that the next new episode is on the 27th (at least according to my DVR schedule). Honestly, can SOMEONE with some sort of media connection to Cartoon Network just straight-up ask them WTF is going on over there?

The source on twitter has been correct about things before, such as the Korra scheduling change before it was even announced. DVR and other online schedules are a bit slow to update as well, specially on a weekend.

it would be a real shame, since they have some great ideas, and they could make some compelling storylines over several seasons.

It definitely is a shame. They're canceling it right when its hitting its stride with the story arc they've been setting up the last few episodes. Hope the new episodes they do air (if they do) are solid.

So am i to blame the ******** GL/YJ fanatics or CN? Both?!

Saddened.
