Beware the Batman - Part 1

Gosh darn it... I was really, really into this show. More so than even Young Justice and Green Lantern (blasphemy I know).

I was looking forward to getting at least the first 13 episodes before the year was out. :csad:

BUT... let's not all panic and jump to conclusions. This does NOT mean the show has been cancelled, but it does suggest CN doesn't really care about it.

They won't even show re-runs for goodness sake. It's this sort of lack of visibility that kills these cartoons. But they'll sicken kids with an hour of TT:GO!.

And they are doing this with a BATMAN show!!??

Whatever, CN. Whatever.

It's cheaper to make 12 minute shorts and they have a small toyline at toysrus

That's not my point...

The way CN are treating TT:GO! is the way they should be treating all their properties.

I mean, fine, pull brand new episodes but it's not good business sense to pull the re-runs. The re-runs keep kids invested and allows for maximum visibility even in downtime.

And yes, Beware the Batman is more expensive to make... but they knew the cost of CGI going in and they STILL didn't make more of an effort (Advertsing, toyline, etc) to recoup their investment. And almost everything Batman-related is a profitable endeavour... soooo...

Hope WB switches to Nickledeon or something.

Considering Warner Brothers owns Cartoon Network, that is highly unlikely.

I like Teen Titans Go! for the record. It's great in my opinion. Just saying. I will be sad if they get rid of Beware though.

Eh... TT:GO! is starting to wear a bit thin on me now.

But it fits CN's current comedy-driven obsession and gets pretty good ratings, so it's here to stay for a while.

Ah, well, thanks for making me look dumb. (Should have checked that really lol)

Gah god darnit then, they're just releasing Brave and Bold for Blu-ray and now they're doing this. It's beyond weird.

Strangely... B:TB&TB would fit better on their schedule at the moment than BtB.

For a network interested in wacky, surrealist comedies aimed at 6-11 year olds... why would they greenlight a dark, psychological AND serialized GCI (Expensive) Batman show.

I think half-way through production they lost heart in it.

I'm thinking 10% of this was because of riding Nolans trilogy success. Now that's over there's no need to continue the dark and mature phase.

You're right. This show doesn't fit what CN is aiming at right now. That's partially the reason why "Young Justice" was canceled too.

"Green Lantern" is the exact copy of "Beware the Batman"

CGI and no toyline

Now BTB is probably repeating things.

Thinking it may be because of the actual content on BTB, I maen it is not really kid friendly/ appealing. Compare the tones between teen titans go and BTB. BTB is the darkest original show they air on the network. Maybe its not the direction CN is going for. Yet I say this with Clone Wars an obvious success.

What a shame.

I'll never understand why new episodes of a cartoon show can only air on Saturday mornings. If anything, a new episode should premiere some time like Wednesdays at 3:30 pm (when kids are home from school and looking to watch TV), with the first rerun on Saturday mornings. Also, they should've selected a day for a mini-marathon of 5 episodes (maybe on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon) to give the show more exposure and give kids (and fans) a chance to get into the show.

The ratings were pretty stable for this show from what I've been reading.

If it's not Star Wars or Avatar then CN doesn't care about it.

Serious actoin cartoons need a place to call home. Maybe Adult Swim is where they can find an audience? They can put the serious or darker shows on Adult Swim and the lighter stuff on Cartoon Network proper.

Should make BTB very adult oriented and bring back late night toonami.

I'm actually surprised this is happening to a Batman show.

That's weird, they say that TTG might be in jeopardy because of a possible new JL cartoon (sounds epic by the way, go Bruce Timm!) but they've already been renewed for a second season, and they air new episodes on Tuesday, not Saturday, they'll be fine.

New episodes to possibly resume in January:

Between the Arkham Origins fiasco and this, it's been a horrible day to be a Batman fan.
