The Dark Knight Beyond The Picture: Analyzing IBIHDToo.com

If you go to the page where you enter the coordinates and enter. "two" in X and "face" in Y, a picture of Two-Face comes up!. Look, it worked for me!!!

I would love some fake campaign ads, using references to big bad Harv, to slam him.

"Harvey Dent was arrested TWICE for assault last year, do we really want this guy for district attorney? Gotham can do better."

Yeah, I wondered about the "peeling back" line, too.

And with the acid, I just think it's easy to picture somebody recoiling away from what's being flung at him and only getting it on one side. I can't really imagine a scenario with a knife that would give that effect, unless it was a case where Harvey was tied down to something. What did you have in mind?
I was imagining Harvey being in the Joker's custody, tied up, and the Joker carving his face up.

Personally, I'd prefer the acid. Scarring with a knife is far too gruesome for my tastes, even if it is the most believable way to create a face with two perfect halves (though I imagine Nolan will go for a more realistic take on the scarred face anyway, so it's not like that would matter... if he's going to do acid, I'm confident he'll make it look like acid splashed onto a guy's face, rather than a perfect divide).

2. The Jokers character also seems to be solidified here in simply the few messages he leaves for us. Lines such as "you can't cheat a cheater", and "I always say, you never know what a man is truly made of until you peel the skin off his face one piece at a time." sound like lines from a hardcore Batman fan's film - and I mean that in the very best way possible. While many have rightfully complained about the lack of traditional look here, what can not be argued is that it seems Nolan does get the Joker's personality. His Joker will be vain - he likes attention, thus the site. His Joker will be sadistic. His Joker will be deadly. And his Joker will target public officials - Harvey Dent beware.

I also feel it is worth noting the Joker's email address "TragicPast" - could it be a smidgen of a back story? Why did WB choose this name over say "Mr. Happy" or another generic Joker-like name. Or something as simple as Webmaster?

You bring up excellent points. This Joker will be glorious!

If anyone is doubting the tragic past thing, just send an e-mail to [email protected].

Rhis does give me more reasurance that the Jokers "origin's" if any, will not be completely re-written.

Well, if there's one thing that I would tolerate the Joker doing to himself, it'd be the red lips. In The Dark Knight Returns, for example, he didn't have red lips until he put on lipstick (not quite canon, but at least there's precedent).

And it'd be more realistic too. If you accept that a guy's hair and skin would change color due to chemicals (not unreasonable), it would seem that all his skin, including that on his lips, would be turned white. So, it seems to me that the hair and skin were the original deformations, prompting him to notice "hey, I kinda look like a clown now. Let's add the finishing touch".

Anyway, about the pic. What I'm noticing is not the "cut smile" that people seem to be calling it, but rather a scar that happens to be next to his mouth. So what I anticipate is that when he actually smiles that Ledgeriffic smile of his, the scar will highlight the stretching and creasing of his face in such a way that the smile will look extra freaky and evil, without actually deforming the mouth itself.

I'm looking forward to it.

Except I really hope the Joker isn't a human panda bear. Those eyes better be a result of lighting, and not his actual look.

Well said, I agree with pretty much everything. Hopefully, the white face and green hair is a result of some chemical bathing(perhaps done by some mobsters as rumored?), I can live with the application of red to his lips.

I really want to see what they have instore for Two-Face, after seeing The Joker disfigured like this!
To bad we'll have to wait another 3 or 4 years.

I'm with you, I can't imagine how disturbing Two-Face will look after seeing this. It'll be well worth the wait.

I really want two faced Dent, I loved that aspect of the Jeph Loeb take on the character.

Ohhh, I hadn't even thought about that. Two- Face is gonna be nasty.

Ok, I've been trying to get on here 4ever, im a newbie, and the joker was originally gonna be done digitally

Why don't you try putting half of Freddy Krueger's face on him and seeing how that looks?

To whoever pointed out the panda-y-ness precedents, I guess you've got a point. Although I've always seen those artistic devices as representative of sunken, tired eyes, not as black makeup.

Except... no.

ok fine, it was a pretty stupid rumor anyways, but it got me out of bed and onto my computer

I was thinking the exact same thing, it seems to me that they're going with a KJ style backstory. Me thinks that Joker's past will have a role to play in his future!

they do reffer to his wife by name in the killing joke, it's Jeannie, not Jessica...but both J names
