More reviews, albeit quick ones:

Sorrow #1 - Weird. Very weird. I wasn't sure quite what was going on, but Remender mentions in the backmatter that he's interested in demon posession. Or something. Maybe that's what's going on. Whatever it is, the art is beautiful.

Faker #3 - Not quite the follow up from #2 that I was hoping for, but still very good. The last issue ended with Nick melting into a pile of yellow goo. This issue begins with him getting better off panel, but ends with a similiarly cliffhangerish ending that ups the ante a LOT. This is one of the better minis I've read in recent years.

Scalped #9 - A couple days ago, Jason Aaron made a comment on Brian Wood's message board about how he thought he'd written the best issue so far with this book. I'll agree. This book is so good, it's insane. It's one of those books that's better written and more entertaining then anything you'll find anywhere else, be it TV, movies or picture-less books. If I could only read one book, this would be the one. The words and the art mesh so well it's unreal. Best book I'm reading, by far. I'd recap events, but no one else reads this, so what's the point?

The Exterminators #21 - Pure trash. Not even Darick Robertson's artwork can save it. This is my Unverse Spider-Man, Dread. Help me shake it.

Daredevil: Battlin' Jack Murdock #4 - Really good ending. It's hard to make things interesting when the reader knows exactly what's coming but Wells and Di Giandomenico do a great job with Jack's final few days. I'd recommend this to Daredevil and non-Daredevil fans alike.

Lobster Johnson: The Iron Prometheus #1 - Mignola's creation finally gets the miniseries treatment, and it's good (as expected). Mignola's script is a lot more excessible then his recent Hellboy stories, making more in line with the BPRD book. The artwork is superb, and the plot is pretty intriguing. This is pulp at it's finest. Someone get on making a crossover with Orson Randall, and fast. ;)

Annihilation Conquest: Wraith #3 - With each issue, I enjoy this more and more. Upon readin the first issue, I was ready to ask Marvel for my money back. Now, I'm finding it to be pretty enjoyable. Most of that comes more from the guest stars Super Skrull and Ronan and less from Wraith himself. Hotz draws a damn good Kl'rt.

Wolverine #57 - I like Chaykin's artwork a lot, but I don't like his clean shaven Logan. I'm not really digging Guggenheim's story either, which makes me nervous about his upcoming ASM run. Too many plot holes. Maybe it'll get better, maybe it won't; I'm really just picking this up out of habit. :whatever:

Now all that needs to happen is for the Super Skrull to kill Wraith in the last issue and I'll throw a little parade. :cwink:

On that note:

Incredible Hulk #110

I felt an agenda behind this issue, as if Pak was peeved off over the death count in Illuminati #1 that Bendis introduced as well as the implication that innocents have died before whenever the Hulk has a temper tantrum. I wasn't crazy about it myself when I first read it but I think we're really past that point now where its reasonable to retcon it.

The start of the Planet Hulk/ World War Hulk saga began with the Illuminati sending the Hulk into space because he was such a risk. The problem with arguing that the Hulk's rampages don't result in fatalities, especially in relation to PH/WWH, is it absolutely leaves the Illuminati with no motivation for exiling the Hulk. Its a case of cause and effect, without the cause than the effect shouldn't occur.

Additionally, despite all of Cho's clever arguing the issue doesn't retcon the Vegas deaths and still concedes that the Hulk's rampages have resulted in the deaths of others on a large scale, whether he was mindless or not. I don't think anyone really thought that in the past the Hulk had gone out of his way to kill innocent civilians, so it all felt sort of pointless.

Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin #1

This is essentially a retelling of the first encounter between the two titular characters dragged out into a short mini-series. One on hand, there's really nothing wrong with it. The plot's moving at a good pace, Tony's characterization is spot on, there's plenty of action and everything else you'd want in a comic. Essentially, the series so far looks to be delivering on its pitch so right there it gets a thumbs up from me.

However, the dating of this series felt off. Seeing such an old Iron Man armor displaying digital read-outs almost felt wrong for some reason. There were moments like these throughout the issue. Negligible little things, but I was cognizant of them all the same.

An enjoyable issue nevertheless.

I was hearing about something else by Apple. A touch screen iPod. Basically the same thing as the iPhone, but half the price, and no phone capabilities.

Yeah but the real big news is that they just dropped the iPhone price by 200 dollars, and now all the early adopters are outraged! by the injustice of not getting to wave their Apple-***** around for a few more months before the proles* could get their hands on one. Seriously!

*"proles" in this context referring to "People who can only afford to spend 400 dollars on a phone, as opposed to 600 dollars as a phone"

Yeah, I kind of wanted an iPhone until I heard about the iPod Touch. Now I want an iPod Touch. But not until it gets a bigger flash drive than the paltry 8 or 16 GB ones they're offering initially. I want at least 40 GB.

I support that.

Is it worth the cover price? I was on the fence. I have a habit of picking a book up, and continuing to do so even if it sucks. Good enough for the 4 or 6 or however many issues it is?

I think, after a point, that's just called "having bad taste," man.

My 80 GB iPod laughs at your idea of "at least 40 GB". :o

I still kind of want an Iphone, just not until I can get one for a cellphone service that isn't Cingular. Or AT&T or whatever they're calling themselves this week.

I have Cingular anyway. My sister pays for that **** on her corporate account, so I figured "**** it."

My touch screen will make your 80 GB iPod kill itself out of shame. In, like, a year or so when it comes out.

:(

Oh man, busting out the p-word?

Licentious.

If this keeps up things are going to get downright ribald.

****, maybe even bawdy.
