Bought Thought June 27, Sinestro is awesome

Wow, another Corps? Great. :o
It was telling the same "story" but from a much diff perspective. Cable just got beat up in X-Men 200, but in C&D you realize what he was doing the whole time.
Uh... right. So what was he doing, exactly? I just finished reading X-Men #200 over my lunch break and I had no idea.

He sent Deadpool to retrieve the info Gambit and Sunfire were looking for. Right before he blew up his computer, he teleported Deadpool off the island with the information. There was a reason he didn't mount any offense, he was trying conserve his fading telekinesis to buy Deadpool as much time as possible.

It would've been nice if we could've gotten, like, a panel of Deadpool to convey that. As it stands, that whole Cable scene in X-Men #200 appeared to be an utterly pointless ass-kicking.

But Professor said that there were only two people on the island before the fight started. They were Cable and Gambit. Sunfire wasn't counted because he was flying and presumably hadn't gotten close enough for Professor to count him. So, Deadpool was... where?

Not only Deadpool, but he was fighting Senyaka. Professor has spyware just like Omega Sentinel :(

lolz, trojans R teh l337ezzt!!!!!11

Seriously, though, the Marauders ambushed pretty much all of the X-Men teams really easily.

That's what they get for letting Lady Mastermind and Mystique on the team.

Rogue's leader skillz FTW!

Haha, I thought Iceman was the leader. Guess that pretty much drives the point home.

Cable would have lead if he wasn't a temp member. They' never let Iceman lead as he's been "too immature" for 60 years now. Rogue and Cannonball were up for the spot.

Hahaha, Cannonball was up for it but Iceman's too immature? Cannonball just got out of diapers like 3 minutes ago. :o

Based on the recent issues of Green Lantern, it appears that the Zamarons will form the Star Sapphire Corps in reaction to both the Green Lantern and Sinestro Corps. What their role will be is so far unknown.

Okay, so first we have green and yellow rings. Now we have a pink one. Are there any other colors that we should expect?

Haha. Well since the horrible X-Treme X-Men; they've matured his character quite a bit. Having to be the big brother all the time.

World War Hulk: Frontline #1
This is hilarious. Y'know how Paul Jenkins did everything humanly in his power to misrepresent the main storyline of Civil War and make everyone look like foaming ******s? Well, guess what he does here?

In the main World War Hulk book, SHIELD and the superheroes incredibly efficient and practical with the evacuation to all concerned, even offering telepathic aid; all one had to do to receive help was to think about it. Here, however, the evacuation of NYC resembled a giant chicken running around with its head cut off. Oh yes, and we mustn't forget that SHIELD and all the heroes are elitist government pigs who don't care about the poor and decrepit parts of the city; unless you have money, you get to just wait to get smashed.

Oh, Jenkins-chan. You silly old fcker. Never change.

I saw this coming and fortunately knew to avoid FRONTLINE for WWH like the plague.

I know some of the various tie-in's for WWH take place during the 24 hours before he smacked down Iron Man, but how much can he get done then? Beat down Ghost Rider, beat down the X-Men, and some of it just seems pointless, as I said in my spoiler-tagged extra rant on Page 1. What purpose is there to Hulk wanting to know how Xavier wouldn't voted hypothetically? Really? It's a waste of time. Now, if Hulk went there because he wanted to eliminate Wolverine before they have their 24th rematch, THAT I could understand because Hulk's full of anger about past betrayals. Wolverine's outright tried to kill him before. But this just seems to be the defintion of superficial, just to give the floundering, aimless, dead-ended-after-M-Day X-Men something to do during the big event. Gage is a good writer and DiVito a modern day Perez (to me), but I still decided to pass on WWH: X-MEN. Even though I am glad Gage doesn't try to push it beyond 3 issues.

I caught up on some of last week's comics this week

Iron Man -- lots of recap of WWH, but it was a good ish with great art. I really like this book.:csad::csad::csad:

Captain America -- good too. Except I don't really like Bucky boning Black Widow. Just because let's face it, Daredevil should be the only one allowed to get that sweet twangalang

Umm, I read something else too but I forget.:csad: I'm falling behind in my reading, still haven't read ASM, probably won't get around to this week's stuff 'til next week.

Sinestro Corps #1 was the best event comic I've ever read.Totally blew away WWH and anything from CW.Could be the best comic I've read so far this year.Colossal, reading Rebirth which was great would help.Pure Green Lantern 101.

DD's cliffhanger was odd, hope this is going somewhere good.

Hulk #107 and Cap #27 were TOP NOTCH.Perfect books all around,I enjoyed this issue more than WWH #1 and Bru's DOTD arc is shaping up to be a classic.Perkins and Epting are perection.

Iron Fistended better than I expected.Pirate Queen and the Tournament coming up look to surpass this first arc.

Beyond the "SHIELD don't help the poor folk" bit, it was pretty solid. But CW Frontline started off the same way. BW is overplaying that part a bit.

The whole "SHIELD doesn't help poor people" thing lasted for a notable amount of panels. No, it's not the core of the comic (which was fairly unremarkable unless you harbor overwhelming lust for Sally or Ben), but I just thought it's so telling that, once again, Jenkins can't draw inside the lines to save his own life. He just has to make things look that little bit worser and more dystopian. And thanks to him, it's canon now. Ya-HA!

Blue Beetle #16
"I -- am -- a dentist!"

See, this is how it should be done. This is everything that a DC book should be right now. Great characters. Utter hilarity. Fitting artwork. Continuity. Although I don't quite remember Ralph and Sue ever being caretakers for Traci 13...

I really liked the way that magic was portrayed in this book. I mean, every writer always whines about how magic is so hard to portray consistently because it's got no rules or whatever, but here magic is being written with recognizable limits and functions, if not outright rules, and is a perfectly valid portion of the plot. The challenge of the champions. The pure host for evil. The blood of the hero. This is all pretty rudimentary, straightforward "fantasy" magic cliches, and yet it works because that's exactly the role that magic should serve.

I don't think I've ever heard of Rogers as a writer before this series, and yet here he is as one of the only few writers I'm even reading at DC anymore. I hope he gets more work about these parts, 'cause they sure do need him.

Panels, not even pages. Either way, you know, even though I like the WWH evac scenario more, the Frontline one was a lot more, real. I mean, there would be some hostility and chaos. I mean, there are people in trailer parks who refuse to leave when a hurricane hits.

Which would have nothing whatsoever to do with whether or not the government was willing to bail them out and, according to Jenkins, they aren't.

Because they're poor. Pay attention.

And FEMA.

It's his first comic work. I think he was a playwright before.

That's silly and and the world is a sillier place now because of it.

Silver Surfer Requiem #2 was awesome. It's refreshing to see a comic where unfathomable power produces not utter destruction but rather benevolence. A touching, uplifting piece of fiction right here. Art rocked my balls too
