Domestic Total Gross: $115,802,596
Foreign Total Gross: $112,409,010

Worldwide Total Gross: $228,211,606

Budget: $110 Million

...

Decent domestic gross, but if it wasn't for the worldwide market, this movie would have just barely grossed more than it cost!

I predicted $120 million+!

Too bad :(

The DVD seems to be doing well though, which is a good sign IMO.

Second week #'s for Ghost Rider: It was still the #1 rental and #2 in sales behind Tarabithia. Still doing great.

Excellent, its out here in the UK today as well, it seemed quite well received here judging by people i have talked to.

granted I smoke some decent stuff.
I guess I jumped the gun, it just seems its gonna be a lot closer than I would have thought for FF being so much more known than GR. If its at $114.8 now and only made $9 this past weekend, seems its running out of steam pretty fast. Though what I smoke notwithstanding, I admit the whole movie numbers and trends thing isn't my strong point.....so I'll just shut up and read :yay:

^GR will probably make more of a profit, because its budget is like $20-25 million lower.

Awesome, i didnt realise it was still going in some places, that WW total plus DVD profits surely means we'll be getting a sequel.

I think the TV rights were already secured, but doesnt the studio make royalties from that? This movie has TV syndication written all over it.

^Its certainly made a healthy profit so far, and with the DVD selling so well also, i cant believe we havent heard anything about a sequel.

FX snapped up the rights in May. The Variety article says....

FX will pay Sony a total license fee in the low $30 millions for a four-year exclusive window to Ghost Rider and the Sandra Bullock thriller Premonition, and a two-year exclusive on Underworld: Evolution and The Grudge 2.

GR gets about 1/4 of that? So around 8 million dollars.

^More than enough profit there to be hearing news about a sequel then, so why arent we?

According to the-numbers.com, GR's final WW take was [/B]Worldwide Gross $237,702,596[/B]. Not bad at all considering.
