Happens Thursday. Maybe down to about 1M this weekend?
Sounds right. But there's a couple big openers this time around so it's tough to say.

I think scheduling is the biggest hurdle for Ant-Man getting a sequel.
You don't want to wait too long to give a movie a sequel.

On a related, but slightly off topic, anybody else besides me think BOM is silly for having a Showdown for the "Marvel Cinematic Universe - Phase 2" and NOT have "Avengers: Age of Ultron" included? It is literally the only one missing.![]()

I think it's a VERY good possibility. It has yet to open in Japan and China and got what I think is a better slot (albeit later) in China. It will "easily" pass 400M with its current openings. As Old Guy said though, it got severely cut back in Korea and the box office went way down.
That ok, it's still done much better than GotG over in SK and looks to likely do around Thor2 numbers there($21m). In fact GotG is the only phase 2 film that comparatively bombed in SK(only $10m). The rest made between $21m(TDW)-$78m(AoU). I guess they just didn't get the humor over there I guess.
Well, like I've said, the humor in GotG was at times very difficult to translate into another language. The obvious example is when Drax says nothing goes over my head...reflexes....catch it. Ant Man doesn't use those sorts of figures of speech (at least I don't remember them).
Yes but some of the funniest parts are when luis tells his stories. That has to be difficult to translate?

EDIT: Rats, beaten to it.

Waiting longer won't hurt it but might help it since in between he'll be in Civil War and probably both Infinity Wars which can only help his popularity and a sequel.

Hey, it's all in good fun!
Per mojo, Ant-Man is losing 377 theaters this weekend. Still at 977, which isn't bad for a movie that's been out 2+ months.
It's already passed TFA in actuality by now. All we're doing is waiting until tomorrow for today's #'s to be reported.
