Arrow Brandon Routh IS Ray Palmer/The Atom

Yeah, that's what ultimately makes me fear they have no plans for Ray beyond a few future team ups. Barry's 2 episodes pretty much laid the groundwork for his series. Here,we haven't much to go on. There's been no set up/no future cast members, nada.

Well, my best guess, is that there is no actual script for a Atom spinoff yet. If they really want one, they should send him over to Flash to set one up for him other than a half built suit and dating Felicity.

I honestly feel like Palmer is better suited (no pun intended) on the Flash show, as opposed to getting his own show. Sure we havent seen how he is in that world, but I think even as just a recurring character, he could do more good there. Heck, make him in charge of Star Labs if Wells is not around anymore, and maybe have them restart that. But I don't think he's been built enough to justify his own series.

Well, I honestly don't know how Wells is going to stay in STAR Labs after Barry and crew figure out he's the Reverse Flash, so that could work. they could do a backdoor pilot for Atom maybe next year

That and Ray's the best chose cause while there's my favorite Spy guy Jack bristo (next to jack bower)) I mean victor garber we all know he's in no position to run star labs. ray is the best chose for now both as teacher owner of business & it'll allow Cisco to be Cisco. Cause he won't want to be held down with bill's & finances.

I feel like with Ray, he's the type of character that needs some time to develop, and by sticking him on Flash right away, it takes away from his development as well as the larger story arcs. But on Arrow, they can get away with him being there every few episodes. But I really hope he gets put on as a series regular on Flash next season.

I doubt Barry will become a Series regular for the Flash Series. It would have made sense if he wasn't in the midst of creating his own suit, but with it becoming functional by the end of the season, there's really no way that he'll become a regular there since there'll be expectations for him to suit up there as much as he possibly can.

Remember what I said last time about barry disappearing on people like iris or i this case Linda park it ';ll save him alot of trouble if the atom took half the stress off. barry won't be questioned why he left his date or was helping them paint their house cause ask him too etc.

The only thing I see working against him being on Flash is that I think he wants to protect Starling city, since I believe that's where he lived and where his fiance was murdered. I don't see him pushing towards fighting across the globe just yet, since neither Oliver or Barry have considered that just yet.

Regarding the Atom's Suit's upcoming abilities:

Marc Guggenheim: For me, the most satisfying thing about the costume is, it looks like Brandon walked off of a movie set. I've never seen a TV show do a costume of this level of ambition before. He's got a lot of cool tricks up his sleeve. People who are immediately expecting him to shrink are going to be disappointed. I will say that upfront.

We always say, we're doing the "Arrow" version of The Atom. That said, there will be some flying involved, which looks remarkably amazing. He has a lot of little gadgets and tricks and abilities built into that suit. I don't want to spoil exactly what they are, because I think part of the fun of watching is seeing what that suit's going to do next.

I agree.

I think it would make sense for Palmer to take over Star Labs after it is revealed Wells is a villain.

no shrinking? This show is doomed!
I think he will shrink at some point, they just said he wouldn't rigt away.

I think they may save that for next season, and also they may be waiting to see how its handled in Antman, while will be out in time for them to borrow ideas for next season, regardless of where Ray ends up.

I wonder if Routh will become a regular next season. They didn't spend so much money on his costume (the most expensive one to date) just for a few guest appearances every now and again, and I don't see him leading a spinoff.

Maybe Palmer will be playing the role of "Oliver Queen" of Smallville, who unofficially backs Team Arrow funds......and maybe Brandon will be promoted to regular just like Justin hartley for Smallville?

I say he should remain a recruiting character since we already have problem with 7 characters and too many heroes

Based on what we've heard of Atom's powers, wouldn't he make Oliver somewhat obsolete in Starling City if he stays on as a full time hero for next season?

The dude would be able to fly, shoot laser beams, and I'm willing to bet that his armor will protect him from most bullets/weaponry used against him.

Not right off the bat. Oliver would still be more experienced than him. He knows what it takes to get the job done; Ray has nothing but optimism and lots and lots of cash.

sorry it took so long to get back to this yeah that is true but the way I see this is temporary (til they find some else star labs related) since they don't have some that can replace wells also he can head back & forth ( he is a business man after all) or when he see that Oliver is what the city needs he can come back to star labs full time as the business head / scientist & teacher.

Barry won't have to worry about certain issues like his dates or people wondering where he went when he with them to do or is doing something at that moment . yeah he's fast but after what we saw with Linda that will be too unavoidable. not just with her but others as well with that part less is more. cause it should be occasional not often . cause I can see certain characters that make that an issue being hated by certain fan's if it's done too often. or just the way the characters will make an issue of it with Barry.

Who needs the Arrow when you have Iron Man, I mean, the Atom! :oldrazz:

That's why I think The Flash is a better fit for the character, once Dr Wells is gone, someone has to fill that void and Ray would be perfect to lead Star Labs, and as a bonus, exchange jokes with Cisco. He could assist Barry when necessary like Green Arrow did in Smallville.

I tend to go with the idea that he gets established on Arrow. Then some kind of accident happens where his Dwarf Star Alloy causes him to shrink. Then he'll be on Flash for them to try and fix that.

Does he have a city he calls his own in the comics?

I believe he comes from a place called "Ivy Town" where, in the comics, he spends most of his time working at the Ivy University (which Ronnie Raymond attends in the comics) when he's not being Atom.

Yeah, that's right. I forgot he's a professor. Still, they can always have him move out and move on when he becomes too powerful for the plot.

Any Arrow scoop on Ray suiting up as The Atom? — Stella

Yeah, he’ll be more like Laurel than Oliver. “He’s definitely a sloppy superhero in the sense of all of our characters don’t immediately have the easiest time fighting crime,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim says. “I would say episode 19 really digs underneath what does it mean for Ray to be a hero. Is he a hero because of who he is? Or is he a hero because of the suit that he’s made.

I just hope that the episode that they choose to debut Ray as a fully geared up "Atom" doesn't come off feeling like a "standalone" arc to the season.
