Walt nearly poisoned her when they met in 5.1 after Mike's death. He had the ricin on him.

This is true and that was such a good moment. I'm just saying that the details of the stevia package... he must have figured it out during his trip. He just needed to reacquire the ricin.

I think the first time he was just planning on dumping it in her drink when she wasn't looking.

One thing though. How does one put ricin into an unopened packet of stevia and then make it look like it was never opened? My only nit-pick
Gets a needle, and slowly fills the ricin into the pack with barely any kind of damage.

he could have planted it there beforehand once he figured out her routine, that would have let him prepare it pretty easily.

So, anyone notice that a slimy, awful character like Todd went out just like Jabba the Hutt?

My emotions are all over the place right now.

I admit I'm ticked that Jesse lived and drove away laughing...I'm head canoning that he wrecks and dies a few feet up the road from the time where the scene cut away.

Also, great song choice for the end...did anyone else hear the additionally accented snare drum sound? So awesome.

Looking back on it, Walt was ultimately as much of a victim of it all as anyone else. The idea that he or Jesse should suffer for their crimes had truthfully already been paid before the finale, especially Jesse. Though everyone more or less got what they wanted, the damage Walt caused will never fully heal. If nothing else, Walt Jr. will go the rest of his life thinking his father died a complete monster.

Yeah, especially since it was the only pack there. Lydia probably always uses the same booth, same time, same place, etc etc. Predictability is a killer.

I just found it strange how for someone who is so obsessed with not getting caught that she would always go to this ONE place. I found it amusing about her characterization; that it made a strange sort of sense and would be her downfall.

I think one of my favorite scenes is of Jesse making the wood box.

Such a fantastic finale.

Jesse strangling Todd to death was the most satisfying thing ever.

I think one of my favorite scenes is of Jesse making the wood box.

That was probably my favorite scene of the finale. The jump cut from that to Jesse, cut up, chained, and still making meth was heartbreaking.

"Cheer up, beautiful people. This is where you get to make it right."

We need this in gif form. Now.

I swear that scene gave me a semi. :o

Mine too. This finale was filled with fantastic scenes. I think my favorite single shot not just in this episode, but maybe the entire series was Walt in the shadows waiting for Gretchen and Elliot. Totally Heisenberg! :word:

I like that Walt has finally provided for his family in the way he originally envisioned and that it will likely work. That makes me feel better about the ending.

So did Gretchen and Elliot go out for Thai Pizza or something? I know it is so random, but listening to their conversation they kept talking about how you expect one thing at one place and one thing at another. I HAVE TO KNOW THIS!

Man, I'm going to miss this show. :csad:

Sometime in the future, though, I'm going to do a watch through of the entire series, watch all of the special features, listen to all of the episode commentaries, look up any sort of article I can get my hands on, and study and research every single facet of this entire series until I know it backwards and forwards.

And then I will watch it again.

The first scene was glorious.

Elliott and Gretchen get to live the rest of their lives in fear. And the way he was ****ing with them all the while having red sights pointed at their chests. What a boss.

You know, it's funny. When I saw those lights being pointed at them, I thought that when they were filming the episode they probably just had a couple of guys on set using laser pointers to stand in for the actual red gun sights.

And it turns out they actually did. :funny:

In Kafkaesque, Jesse recounts being inspired by a high school woodworking teacher, about how he slacked off, but eventually applied himself and made something great.

Then gave it away for drugs.

I can't believe I forgot about the woodworking story. The woodworking scene actually makes sense now. And that transition from that to him cooking meth was kind of heartbreaking. So much wasted potential. :csad:

Though, since he's free now, I think Jesse could probably still make a living out of doing that if he really wanted to.

"Cheer up, beautiful people. This is where you get to make it right."

That entire scene was basically Walt just giving them the middle finger for stealing all of this ideas for the company.

And it was sooooo delicious.

Am I the only one who slightly lost my suspension of disbelief when Walt was able to get every single guy on that house with his little deux ex machina?

It felt kinda off that a show with such complex and nuanced writing did a scene where the outcome relied so heavily on sheer luck and not solely on Walter's intelligence.

I mean, sure, he might've calculated angles, distances, timings and all but it all came down to the crew being all inside the shack lined up perfectly like they conveniently were...

This is a nitpick tho, everything else delivered. It was surprisingly simple and straightforward, this episode. I was expecting something a little more wrinkled and with a more creative way of ending the show and, because of this, Sopranos still holds the best ending for a series. I really wanted this show to trumph that infamous ending with something genious but I guess playing it safe has it's own merits...

I feel a bit empty now that my favourite show is gone. Going into withdrawal :(

It's like half in the way he envisioned and half the way that would've saved everyone a whole lot of trouble.
