Walt shook hands with Hank's murderer and then gave Jesse to nazis as a slave.

That LITERALLY happened, and there are still people going, "Yeah, b-b-b-but Walt banged on a window! See! He totally still cares about family! He's an angel, guys!"

he gave jesse up to be killed thee nazis made him a slave on their own

And Betsy Brandt, and her character Marie, is damn hot. She can cry on my shoulder any time.

I have to say I was surprised and touched Walt still cared so much about Hank after his "tread lightly" speech. I think at that point Walt cared more about Hank's life than Hank cared about Walt's. After finding out about Heisenberg, I don't think Hank considered Walt family anymore, even if Walt still felt that way towards him.

Poor Jesse though. Dude looked like he had multiple skull fractures.

This is from a HuffPost article about Ozymandias:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/maureen-ryan/breaking-bad-ozymandias_b_3931402.html

"*Todd cried over Hank. And yet he's so weirdly without visible emotion so much of the time. What an odd duck he is. But somehow it seemed appropriate that someone out there in that barren, beautiful desert should shed a tear for poor Hank."

Bwuh--? I don't remember Meth Damon crying over Hank? When did that happen? I remember the dude saying "sorry for your loss", but he's just a sociopathic killer with superb manners. There's no way the dude who shot an innocent kid in cold-blood last season, cried over a DEA agent.

There was a brief shot of Todd swiping at his nose with his arm after Hank was shot but it didn't look like there was any tears. His nose probably just itched. Unless they're saying Todd is ashamed to see Walt so broken after Hank's death.

You know considering his family its really crazy that Todd has manners at all.

I think Todd probably has a funny sense of etiquette. It's okay to kill people, but you should be a gentleman about it. Except for Jesse. I think he wants to give Jesse a bit of payback for that post-Drew Sharpe beating.

That's actually what I kinda thought when I was watching last night. He's not so much sad about the actual event, but he's sad that Walt is sad about it. Like the uncle said, he looks up to Walt.

So Walt disillusions Junior AND Todd in one episode. Way to go, Walt.

If Walt hadn't shook his hand, he would have been killed right then and there and would have had no way of avenging Hank, which I thoroughly believe he plans to do.

I read that as "Walt banged a widow"

.....

Me too. Someone should make a gif of:

Marie: "You have to tell him..."
Skyler: "...No...Marie.....
Marie: "If you don't tell him I will."
Skyler: "I F***ed Ted"
Walt Jr: *blank stare*

You're acting like those things are totally exclusive, in his mind he tried to give Jesse a chance before ordering the hit and all it had done was get Hank killed and his money stolen by the Nazis. It was wrong and it was easily the most horrible thing he has ever done but in no way does it invalidate that when push came to shove he really did try to do everything to save Hank.

And he did more than bang on a window, he wanted to give them all of his money - everything that he had ever earned as Heisenberg. He was offering them everything those barrels of money meant to him in order to try and save a man who he had every expectation of continuing to come after him.

Then there was returning Holly perhaps realizing for the first time that his family would be better off without him than otherwise and essentially said every mean and vile thing he could think of knowing full well that Walt Jr. was listening and that he was destroying whatever connection he had left to him in the actso that Skyler would be safe from prosecution.

At this point Walt has made it clear that he cares more about his family than he did being Heisenberg. People say then he shouldn't have gone into meth manufacturing if that was the case and that's true but when he did so it wasn't with the notion or even the realization that he was putting them in danger. He truly believed in the delusion that he could keep those worlds separate as a product of his immense hubris and ego.

Yes. Why don't people get this?

Also, Todd's "I'm sorry for your loss"...such a superficial, learned, response...I don't think he really feels much emotion and this was his effort to show Walt that, in his own creepy way, he cares. That actually pretty major for somebody with such blunted affect as Todd.

And I think Lydia will put the ricin in Todd's tea using her attractiveness coupled with Todd's "I'ma creep on you" factor.

How exactly can Walt "avenge hank" at this point? I think the point is he can't avenge anybody.

I don't see any real "avenging" being done regardless of how many aryans he might kill down the road? Walt can't avenge his sins at this point he just has to pay for them and I believe that's what will happen one way or another.

I guess I just do not understand how people can look past Walt's vile, monstrous behaviour just because he's ostensibly a "family man" (despite putting his family in tremendous danger at every turn.) As if caring about family somehow excuses what he's done. Yeah, he made an honest effort to save Hank and he tried to get Skyler off the hook... but so ****ing what? That doesn't magically undo all the reprehensible things he's done, and continues to do. It's easy to care about someone. It requires zero effort. Yet Walt has gone to great effort to do so many awful, unforgivable things. That just doesn't balance out in my book. Not even close.

It actually took me a long time to get out of that mentality but the twisted thing I realized is, with Walt providing for his family it's more about that quote Gus said to him, than him really caring for them I believe.

Gus Fring: What does a man do Walter? A man provides for his family.

And a man, a man provides. And he does it even when he's not appreciated, or respected, or even loved. He simply bears up and he does it. Because he's a man.

To me that explemifies walt's thinking with regards to his family, to feel like a man to be a man he must provide for them but not out of love for them but because that's what a man does and that thinking pretty much destroyed his family.

Either way I've never really taken sides on the show, I'm just there on the sidelines to watch and take it all in.

Todd is a monster, but he's a polite monster. Even after smashing Jessie's face in, he gently helps him up the ladder and into the new meth lab. I wonder if he got Jesse any tea as well?

I really wonder if Todd even has the emotional capacity to have a grudge against Jesse.

This is a real bit of hyperbole. Nobody in here has said that as far as I can tell.

who the f.... does Walt think he is ? he started a drug empire next to a DEA agent. when Hank got him he didnt take it like a man so he started threatening him with a fake recorded video. hhhhhhh? hhhhhhhhhh? thats how he wanted to save Hank?
ohhhh if he would give the nazis the money they would let him go? this is what Walter thought would happen? this is the same man who didnt want to give the money to Mike so that he pays his guys in prison. to be quiet. because he didnt belive in this. if someone is dangerous to you you kill him. this is what Walter White was thinking the last 2 seasons.who the f... does he think he is that he starts a drug empire and when everyone is in danger because of f.... him everyone needs to pack and go with him. no questions asked. ''trust me''.

and you know why he is trying to be now a good guy? because he saved Skyler over the phone with the police? he f... put her in this situation. because people died. people that he knew. family. NOW everything is serious. but when some junkies and criminals died it was OK.

your post and my post are proof that Breaking Bad is the best tv series and that Walter White is an amazing tv character. he is written so good that you can not let it go. the man that you knew was gone years ago.

:woot::up:

Todd is such a weird character because he would be the nicest, sweetest guy ever if he wasn't so completely nonchalant about death and violence. I think a lot of it is because he's obviously been around psychopaths his whole life, they've desensitized him to it and haven't taught him right from wrong.
