Breaking Bad - Part 10

She looked hotter than Bryan Cranston did during his silent, open-mouthed desert sobs. :o

That was a horrifying shot. He looked like a hollowed out body, with nothing left inside. Like the type of leathery bodies found that have managed to survive this intact after being preserved so well. (Like an Egyptian ;) )

Either way I've never really taken sides on the show, I'm just there on the sidelines to watch and take it all in.

Yeah, me too. I think it's beyond the point and brilliance of the show to be team this or team that by default. It's way more conflicting and non-black-and-white than that.

Personally I feel different about different character in different situations.

What a great episode .The host of Talking Bad was right,i had to take a breather during the commercials break.
People wanted death after the To'hajiilee ambush or otherwise it wouldnt be believeable and they got it and then some.
Walter has truly layed all of his cards on the table.

Wow. Breaking Bad is such a good show! I mean, really, I'm gonna be sorry when it's over.

I knew that Hank's death was inevitable. There is no way he was going to walk out of this. I'm kinda feeling sorry that he died, I always liked him, but to me he is at least in part responsible for his own demise; he let the personal feelings of anger over his hurt ego cloud his judgment and he was just in a total tunnel-vision mode in regards to catching Walt by himself without letting anyone know.
Poor Marie, though... Imagine the emotional collapse - she went from being triumphant to totally heartbroken when she learned about Hank.

As for Walt, I think he's finally and truly dead. It's all Heisenberg from now on. And to be frank, I don't know how I feel about it. He's truly one of the greatest characters I've seen in regards to depth and character development. To the point where after he cried out his tears, got up and betrayed Jesse I wasn't sure whether it was awesome or mortifying!
I maintain that even Heisenberg cares about his family but it was just too much for them. They just don't have his inner strength - few people do, to be honest. Leaving the baby and using the services of Saul's Disappearing Guy was his final act of kindness.

Anyway, an awesome episode. Can't wait to see what's going to happen and how the current events tie with the snippets about the future.

I think Todd probably has a funny sense of etiquette. It's okay to kill people, but you should be a gentleman about it. Except for Jesse. I think he wants to give Jesse a bit of payback for that post-Drew Sharpe beating.

By the looks of it, he's got his revenge and then some. Seeing Jesse post beatdown was probably one of the hardest things I found to take about this episode. By all accounts, he suffered an absolutely horrendous beating and goes way beyond the scrap Jesse had with Todd in the aftermath of Drew's murder.

I think the severity of the beating reflects Todd's feelings towards Jesse; pure rage and a deep jealousy of the relationship Jesse had with Walt.

Excellent point! I hadn't considered Todd's jealousy, but I think you hit the nail on the head.

I'm still not so sure that Todd even gives a **** about Jesse. Or that punch he took after the Drew Sharp killing. He didn't seem too upset right after it happened why would be still be like 3-4 months later? I do like the point of his jealousy being brought up though. Walt and Uncle Jack do seem to be the only people Todd really looks up to and has even an inkling of respect for.

impossible to know what will happen. in august i thought that Hank will die in the last episode. or even survive to be the hero. :)

I don't believe Walt is full Heisenberg, not quite yet.
He's broken, angry, betrayed, but he still loves his family. He still did what he could to salvage Skyler from getting into serious trouble from the cops.

The next episode will tell us a little more, particularly if he ends up coming back for Jesse.

i dont think Walt will ever be in full Heisenberg mode. if he wanted he could killed Skyler months ago.

I haven't taken sides either, but after the last episode I really want Jesse to come out of this alive. Poor guy.

After doing some thinking, it is also possible price that Walt is going after Todd and the neo-Nazis to get his other $69 million back. He has $11 million cash on hand. With that money, why doesn't he just hire some professional hitmen to kill those guys if he wants them dead, instead of doing it all himself? Why go back all the way to his house and risk being caught/seen for a bit of ricin that he could have easily manufactured in an even greater quantity at his new place? It could be possible that Walt somehow lost the $11 million and wants his other money back. Then the fact that they didn't kill Jesse and are using him to make his product would only add to his final decision to go back.

That was what Hank's last words to Walt was about. Walt's a brilliant guy but he's always been delusional about his own ability to keep things in control. He's pleading with Uncle Jack to save Hank but there's no way Hank is getting out alive, no matter what Walt had to say. It's Walt's hubris in believing he can make everything work when in reality he has never been able to.
Exactly. Walt is a coward who resorts to begging and telling people, "My cancer is back!" when threatened.

When Walt realized that Hank's death was essentially on him for calling the Nazis, he began to backpeddle and beg. Then he internally shifted blame from himself to Jesse and had no problem giving him to Todd as a meth slave.

Sometimes I wonder if I am watching a different show than others are watching. Walt is a coward. He's not pure evil, but he's a coward and a liar. His pride and hubris are his downfall. Mike even called him out on this, saying that Walt's ego, pride, and need to be the man are what ruined the great thing they had going with Fring.

I love the little story Rian told in the podcast about getting this great shot.

If Walt had just settled down with Gus Fring, Jesse would be dead by now.

Jesse wouldnt be a problem if he was not on drugs. remember Gus told him he doesnt work with junkies. he was a junkie because of the hot girl. YO :woot:
