Breaking Bad - Part 10

yea i didn't get much sleep at all,
pretty much every waking hour was just watching bb, with short breaks for food/showers/other things etc

there was times where i said to myself
"Ok after this episode i'm gonna give it a break and do something else"

but then the show would end on a Must See next episode cliffhanger and i'd end up watching more, i was intent on catching up before any major spoilers came out seeing how the show is wrapping up soon

it was just that good, i hardly get that invested in any show but i was just hooked, and all the episodes were available so i didn't have to deal with weekly waiting or season breaks so there was nothing really preventing me from watching it all, pretty hyped for the final episodes and seeing how it all ends, this whole season has just amped up so much each episode, i loved the latest episode, it was so intense from start to finish

looking forward to the saul goodman spinoff, he's one of my favourite characters on the show :woot:

Yea I binge watched this summer cuz I watched from the beginning and never saw the show before. Thought I had broken bad watching the entire show in 3 weeks. You, my friend, have caught the habit worse.

Last episode was indeed frantic and intensely emotional

Spent the last few days catching up from season three. There should be some sort of medical warning about going through that sort of emotional rollercoaster. I'm almost relieved I have to wait four days before the next episode.

You know you are doing something right if you have GRRM thinking about trying and topping you!! :woot:

A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin is an avid viewer of Breaking Bad, but couldn't help but note on his blog after last weekend's episode "Ozymandias" that "Walter White is a bigger monster than anyone in Westeros." His next thought? "(I need to do something about that)."

Holy hell. Given that the world of Westeros is chock full of psychopaths for whom rape, slavery, torture and murder is completely inconsequential (or, in the case of Ramsay Snow, just a great deal of fun!) the idea that GRRM thinks Walter White is worse than any of his characters is a bold testament to Breaking Bad's depiction of a man's descent into evil.

Also, given the monsters he's already created, I'm having a hard time imagining what GRRM would think is "worse." I mean, what else is there? Other than maybe a dude who wears dead babies as slippers?

No no, George...

For real. There's no way in hell that Walt is more of a monster than Joffrey, Ramsay Snow, Gregor Clegane or Walder Frey. He's probably just being facetious.

I wonder how Todd would rank among those guys? Child killing, torturing, overall sociopath etc. seems like he has a pretty good pedigree for GRRM's world.

Man I can't wait for Breaking Thrones or Game of Bad or whatever the inevitable cross over will be called!

Gus would have probable been successful, but let's not Forget that there's much bigger competitivity there, he would probable be one of the lesser evils there.

"Tywin Lannister is dead. His Gold Cloaks are dead. You have no one left to fight for. Fill your pockets and leave in peace. Or fight me and die!"

I feel like based on his statement, GRR didn't quite understand that Walt was putting on an act in his call with skylar.

Sadly a good number of fans missed that element too. I've stumbled on far too many "yeah walt called skyler a stupid b****!" online.

Even I had to point out to a couple a people I know on what Walt was really doing.

ya seems like they could have used one of those Dexter voice overs to clear up any confusion for those unable to read subtext

I don't really felt Walt was a villain, he allways seemd more like a tragic figure or an anti-hero, he would be a villain if out heroes were the gangsters.

He was pretty villainous from the Season 4 finale to at least the second half of season 5 when nearly everything he was doing was mainly about accumulating power. Most of the rest of the time I'd classify him as an anti-villain or a particularly dark anti-hero.

Second half? In the second half he has only been trying to protect his share of the money and try to get Hank off his trail. In the season 4 finale wasn't he Basically trying to protect Hank from Gus's forces?

Sorry I should have said from the start of to the ending of the first half of season 5.

Yeah, in the first half he was starting his empire biz, though i was a little disapointed that it didn't last long, he was a meth empire leader for how long? 2 months? While people like Gus and Eladio holded for a very long time.

Most people didn't. And that pisses me the **** off to no end.

SOOOO many people missed that, and its one of the best moments in the series IMO.

It's kind of a weird thing for them to overlook. From Walt being very over the top at the start of the conversation to having tears streaming down his face at the end of it, it's like... are these people blind?

Not to mention believing that Walt would be stupid enough to believe no police would be there after WATCHING HIS SON CALL THEM!!!
