I don't see that at all. The only similarity is the shaved stubble on the side of his head. He reminds me much more of Vic Mackey from The Shield, but I'm not sure how much of that has to do with looks and how much has to do with their profession.

I know Gus was very popular, but how would you all rate the rest of the villains in Breaking Bad like Krazy, Tuco, Cousins, etc

I would go:

Gus
Hector
Tuco
Todd
Cousins
Krazy-8
Lydia
Jack
Victor
Don whatever his name is who dies in the pool

and of course Walt is also a villain in the last season. Mike I never considered a villain so much as an honest guy who kills, anti-hero type.

On a side note, anyone ever listen to Pink Floyd's "Dogs" and hear the story of Walt + Jesse? It's about being a selfish, screw everyone else to get to the top type person. The older experienced "dog" is talking to a younger "dog". I wish I could put together a video because there are moments I can picture from the series going with parts of the song. However it's like 15 minutes long. Here are the lyrics, I'm gonna say Walt is the first character and Jesse is the second and "the stone" is the meth:

Walt -
You gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real need
You gotta sleep on your toes, and when you're on the street
You gotta be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed
And then moving in silently, down wind and out of sight
You gotta strike when the moment is right without thinking.
And after a while, you can work on points for style
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake
A certain look in the eye, and an easy smile
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to
So that when they turn their backs on you
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.
You gotta keep one eye looking over your shoulder
You know it's going to get harder, and harder, and harder as you get older
And in the end you'll pack up, fly down south
Hide your head in the sand
Just another sad old man
All alone and dying of cancer.
And when you loose control, you'll reap the harvest you have sown
And as the fear grows, the bad blood slows and turns to stone
And it's too late to loose the weight you used to need to throw around
So have a good drown, as you go down, all alone
Dragged down by the stone.

Jesse-
I gotta admit that I'm a little bit confused
Sometimes it seems to me as if I'm just being used
Gotta stay awake, gotta try and shake off this creeping malaise
If I don't stand my own ground, how can I find my way out of this maze?
Deaf, dumb, and blind, you just keep on pretending
That everyone's expendable and no-one has a real friend
And it seems to you the thing to do would be to isolate the winner
And everythings done under the sun
And you believe at heart, everyone's a killer.

Who was born in a house full of pain
Who was trained not to spit in the fan
Who was told what to do by the man
Who was broken by trained personnel
Who was fitted with collar and chain
Who was given a pat on the back
Who was breaking away from the pack
Who was only a stranger at home
Who was ground down in the end
Who was found dead on the phone
Who was dragged down by the stone.

You've been around long enough to know better than trying to apply logic to twitter troll nonsense.

Does anyone here watch Revolution? In the latest episode, it had Gus and Ted on the same train. :D

You just connected my two favorite things in the world. Well played. Incidentally, one of the writers, Tom Schnauz (who wrote One Minute, amongst others) is a huge Floyd fan.

Gus
Todd

Don Elaudio

can anyone help me out and tell me the name of that track by dave porter that plays when
jesse strangles todd to death/walt kills jack in felina ?
you know, that really intense, insane music ? i've been really curious to hear it on it's own.

Fight the man, Walt.... fight the man.

It's not released to the general public, at least unless Vol 3 comes out.

interpretations of walt as satan, versus an interpretation of walt as a "morally ambigious christ-like figure " .

i'm not even religious personally, i just find it interesting seeing that the show/walter himself could be looked at in a lot of different ways, and while it doesn't jam religion down your throat , could be looked at by some as a "religious show " .

I wouldn't say it's a religious show, but it can definitely be seen as a modern morality play.

Vince Gilligan speculates on Jesse's character.

My personal feeling is that he got away. But the most likely thing, as negative as this sounds, is that they’re going to find this kid’s fingerprints all over this lab and they’re going to find him within a day or a week or a month. And he’s still going to be on the hook for the murder of two federal agents. But yeah, even though that’s the most likely outcome, the way I see it is that he got away and got to Alaska, changed his name, and had a new life. You want that for the kid. He deserves it.

The funny thing is that I thought the same thing too.

I like that we don't know his fate. Some people were upset we didn't get an epilogue to check in with everyone post walt's death scene. I think some ambiguity is a good thing.

Actually with all the debate surrounding whether "Saul" will be a prequel or a post-BB show, I wonder if they'd ever be tempted to revisit jesse post escape?

I didn't mind the ambiguity of Jesse's fate, my interpretation is basically how Vince saw it- yeah, he's still going to be found out about & wanted, but he gets a new beginning in some other part of the world and (is the only character) to get a happily ever after.

Not counting Walt (because he's the main character), Jane, Hank, Gale, Mike (while all were at times antagonists, none were "villains") or the Don (he never had a direct confrontation with Walt IIRC. His beef was with Gus)....

Todd/Uncle Jack (I count them together)
Gus
The Cousins
Tuco and Hector (also counting together)
Lydia
Krazy 8

At the end of the day, I think the Neo-Nazis were that much worse as human-beings than Gus.

At least Gus had manners. I always liked those kind of villains that are really bad, but they're calm, respectful and you can at least have a civilized conversation. I find them to be extremely interesting than the generic killer.

I agree. But I wouldn't call Todd generic. And he certainly had manners. What Gus had and Todd lacked though, was a code he lived by and a sense of honor.
