So technically Doc Ock is a cyborg because he can control mechanical arms that are fused to his body(though there are times they are seperated).

What do you mean if he's human?? Of course he's human. He withstood Spidey's punches because Spidey pulls his punches. He's not a murderer. He doesn't want to kill Ock.

Also, having A.I. tentacles fused into his nervous system may also have given him a stronger resistance being rendered unconscious.

Any really good talented actor would do. Nobody in particular at this point seeing as how doc ock`s return would be like at least four to seven years away.

If they do have Ock return, I'd prefer it be as a teaser in the fourth and as the presence of the fifth. I'd like the fourth to revolve more around Conners and Kraven for a more 'concrete jungle' feel, then have Doc Ock appear to set up the fifth as a 'Master Planner'/ Sinister Six adaption (or as close as you can get to a Sinister Six plot with less than six villains). A POTC moment for him in the fourth would be cool and set people into a frenzy wondering how he survived.

And think about the setup for a moment- Pete thinks Octavius is dead, Dok Ock has control over the arms and now Otto knows his secret identity. It could make for all kinds of amusement.

It's not a dumb post.... Lizard Kraven does not work as a grand finale... only works as a follow up... I still think if they are gonna make one more... they are going to need another major villain... Sony has to dish out the $ and get the rights to King Pin... he could be an awesome reoccurring villain in 4-6 much like the Dafoe is in the first trilogy... that why you can map it out like this:

SM4: King Pin side villain (maybe electro or SHocker as his henchmen, plz God no Rhino) and Lizard/Kraven as the main villains

SM5: I love Scorpion and Mysterio in this slot, if you wanna go more dark I got no problems with Venom returning or Kletus Cassidy/Carnage... King Pin can rear his head again... can you say Dock Ock/Sinister Six setup?

Do you know why I said it was a dumb post? Because, dude said, we have to have either GG, Doc Ock or venom for it to work. Thats a load of BS.

As for kingpin, he's with fox. Sony wont bother wasting time trying to acquire the rights, there are other villains they can use. As for lizard and kraven, they can work for sm4 for the simple fact that, Conners is the lizard and they've built up his character since sm1. SM4 could be a close and personal film in which obviously, spider-man has to save conners from the clutches of a deranged suped-up kraven not to mention saving people from the lizard himself.
You need to understand that less can sometimes be more. With sm3 being jam-packed, trying to go over the top for the next one is stupid. Its happened with many other movies before. Its all about management and scaling back.

The story with the lizard is intriguing all on its own. Throw in kraven and you've got something really special. Can you imagine the fights that would take place?? Spidey vs. Kraven, that equates to a straight up action-packed brawl. Fights with the lizard, breathtaking.

You people are so closed minded and its interesting because what your saying is what was being said about venom and especially sandman and looky here, guess what?? both venom and sandman (who is the main villain) are both in sm3 and geeks all over the place are going nuts with excitement. You guys are failing to see the bigger picture because your letting the mediocity of the handeling of some of the characters dictate to you how you think some of these characters will be portrayed on the big screen.

You even suggested scorpion and mysterio for sm5?? A better choice of villains over lizard and kraven for sm4?? That how I know your not a long time reader of spider-man comics

Sandman is a B-list villain who got an upgrade for the movie treatment. The same can be done for most of spidey's rogues gallery. Besides, Conners' character has gradually been developed since sm1 and more will be forshadowed in sm3. Because of who Conners is, you already have a great story to tell and throw in kraven, a suped up, potion loving, hunter-junkie, you've got an excellent story to tell, maintaining awesome visuals, a bad guy (in the form of kraven who you dont want to sympathise for) and awesome action that delivers, you've got a total package here. Everything I need to say is in my post above.

I agree. To make a great Spider-man movie you need a great director, a great script, and great actors. Chameleon, Sandman, Lizard, Mysterio, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin and Electro are all A-list villains. Even Scorpion, Shocker, and Rhino could be argued to be also. Since, they have been talked about before as potential villains. It really just takes great writers to make them A-list villains. Its the writers who mess them up or don't do them right that make the villains seem not good enough.

Sony said they wanted to do 4-6 no? That means a new trilogy, hence you need more central characters... there are others yes. Felicia Hardy John Jameson and others come to mind.... but those are supporting characters... who will be the reoccuring antogonist? ANd don't say it ain't needed because every trilogy has one... considering the symbiate saga will pretty much be wrapped up (no one wants carnage for more than one movie if that) I don't see many options... maybe Octopus can be that guy building a team together in three movies... but King Pin is logical to me... and no Jameson Sr. and the Bugle doesn't count as a reoccurring villain...

But the problem is the bar will be set ultra high will Sony feel it can match expectations after SM3? thats what makes it tricky... is it really worth spending 300 million for a returning cast and crew to do one movie about the Lizard (keep in mind SM3 budget)... its not an automatic thing for any studio. Sign Tobey and Dunst and Raimi to new deals... and you know all of them are going to want a % of the Box Office

No actually you are failing to see the bigger picture... I am looking beyond one movie... much like Sony is... they said they wanted to do three more movies... yet everyone wants them to rush and make SM4 for a 2009 release date while the actors are still young.... thats what I call a rush job half way through just to make some money... my point is... do I want to see this movie? Absolutely... but I want them to map it out as SOny intends to do through the course of three more films... I just don't see a need in bringing back all the actors for one more movie and then recasting everyone in SM5 if SOny is unable to come to terms with everyone involved... want I want is SM4 to be a follow up of the first three movies but the start of something much bigger... I don't mind if they have to recast Tobey and Dunst (as long as they can keep the supporting cast) if it means we are gonna get younger actors that are in it for the long term... thats why 2009/2010 is just too soon for SM4.... if they wait about 4-5 years when expectations come down a bit and the anticipation goes down a while... they can make a new sequel that is comparable to the original...thats why I briefly outlined a plot of where I would like the story to go for the next three

The Chameleon could be the reoccuring antogonist. I had considered him being the one seeking revenge in SM 5 and SM 6 bringing in Kraven, Shocker, Rhino or any other villain to kill Spider-man. He is a mind over muscle type villain. He can be the criminal mastermind needed.

I think we need to do a little better than the chameleon... I mean Black Cat is probably more intriguing IMO... if you want the criminal master mind its Octopus... nough said... gotto bring him back

This seems to be the best thread for me to ask this question...it's not regarding solely on Spider-Man 4, but it directs to Doc Ock...if Doctor Octopus were to return (I'm alligning myself with the Doc Ock died in Spider-Man 2 side, but he could return and I could be wrong), how would Ock come back as a villain? He seemed to be good at the end, but if he did come back, what would make him come back evil? Could that fusion thing mess up his mind and the technology behind his tentacles again? And thoughts?
