Sequels Bryan Singer on the Future of the X-Men Franchise...and possibly an X-Men 4

A Days of future movie would be nice....

but I think it would be a bit weird for the general audience to see a new sequel with the same cast of the trilogy but with a totally different storyline than the final status of X3.

Of course they could explain it on the very beggining of the movie, in a prologue or something.... but I dont know if it would be good or not...

I like the feeling of a continuation from sequel to sequel.... but a big change from X3 would be a bit sad for me.

but anyway, a sequel directed by Bryan would be amazing, so Id accept any form of sequel by him.

Except for us die hard fans I doudt many will even notice about changes If X-Men the last Stand were to be Ignored. When Casino Royale came out there were TV ads saying this showed how Bond became Bond. And let's not forget keeping Judi Dench as M when
she was M to Pierce Brosnon's Bond.

I think there Is little chance of Rachel Summers In It.Even If Singer Ignores the last Stand they won't touch Jean Grey.We might get Cyclops but nothing to bring attention to Jean or Phoenix If The Last Stand Is Ignored. It will be easyer to speculate about X-Men:Days of future Past once we get answers one way or the other on The Last Stand's place In cannon after X-Men first Class.

Please explain? They could still have connecting threads. We'd probably see the aftermath of the cure failing and stuff like that.

I'd also like to see them tackle Sinister and Apocalypse, with Archangel and the return of Cyclops.

I was talking for example about X4 starting some years after the events of Last Stand, with big changes on the school, team, and social situation.

I mean, I think both we and the general audience should get some connection with X3, explaining what happened with the cure, if Rogue hasnt gotten her powers yet, or yes, what happened with Xavier's mind after his death.... things like those.

I wouldnt like X4 starting with a totally new reality, without knowing what happened the next months/year after X3's end.

I posted a question to Bryan Singer about X-Men 4, as well as a possible return of Cyclops. Show your support everyone!

Very cool.I posted a question to see If he would answer the contunity debate of Is X-Men First Class prequel to X-Men X2 and X-Men The Last Stand or Just X-Men and X2.
I mentioned I consider X2 to be of 4 best comic Book films ever with X-Men close behind.
Getting answer would allow somewhat an Idea of a ballpark on who could be In Lineup of
X4 or X-Men:Days of Future Past.

Thanks, man!

If the do end up making X-Men 4, it seems likely we'll see the Days of Future Past storyline, since that's what Donner is pushing for. Hopefully that means the introduction of Rachel Summers.

IIRC, wasn't Donner a fan of Days of Future Past....instead of doing that for X4, why not do that as a one off?

...Donner was also interested in New Mutants, I wouldn't mind seeing that (depending on the roster).

edit...

I asked him about the future of the franchise too, I think I named X4 too.

I hope he gives us some info about his plans.

I've been waiting for a X-Men 4 movie since 2006!!!

Cmon Bryan Singer bring it on! Make an X-Men 4 movie.

I cant wait for June/July, to start reading interviews from Bryan and Lauren about the next movie.

I hope they announce the next movie during this year.

If First Class does good numbers I think Fox will try to focus on making a trilogy out of it. If Fox is planning to do a X-Men 4 anytime sooner and they want Bryan Singer to return as the director I think we'll have to wait a little longer since Singer is doing Jack the Giant Killer and that one will come out 2012.

yes, Bryan could start with it since 2012.

But Fox could announce it this year, who knows?

I think it would be nice if they announce First Class sequel and X4 at the same time, one for each year.

With The Wolverine likely pushed to 2013 release we could see First Class sequel and X-Men sequel In 2014 and 2015.It usually takes Bryan Singer 3 years after finishing one film to get another made and released.Although X-Men came out 2 years after Apt Pubil.
Expect to hear more during the summer especilly If First Class does X2 business.

yeah, this summer will be interesting.

I they announce X4 for the next years, Ill be sooooo happy.

fingers crossed!

I doubted any Wolverine delays until the announcement of Aronofsky's departure. Now I can definitely see it being delayed to 2013.

I hate that Singer skipped over the X4 question, saying he only concentrates on one film at a time. I guarantee you he and Donner have something in mind already. I don't know if that means X4 or another X-film entirely, but they already have something in mind.

With the recent news of Darren Aronofsky leaving The Wolverine this has crossed my mind on what the future plans for franchise could be

A First Class sequel for 2013.

The Wolverine Is delayed till after First Class sequel so Bryan Singer can direct It after jack The Giant Killer Is finished.

After The Wolverine comes out The First Class trilogy Is complete and then
X-Men;Days of Future Past Is made with Singer Directing.

Singer made valkyrie fairly quickly. The script for The Wolverine Is done and It was written by Singer's longtime friend Chirstopher Mcquarrie who wrote
Valkyrie as well as The Usual Suspects which he won an oscar for.And he did uncreded work on Apt Pubil and X-Men scripts.Plus Singer brought him to rewrite jack the Giant Killer. While they may rush to get a new director for The Wolverine waiting for Singer to complete jack the Giant Killer to do The Wolverine Is a possibilty so far I haven't seen discussed.

I doubt Fox waits for Singer.

They will choose a new director in the coming weeks.

They want The Wolverine for 2012 and they will have it.

You may be right on this. They will have to get one quickly to make a summer 2012 release.Even with DA I never thought It would be coming out In fall/Winter.X-Men Is
a action/SciFi Fantasy franchise.I doudt It will be a A List director like Tony Scott.I
expect It If they don't wait to be one who likes the script. If David Slade hadn't signed for Daredevil I would think him.FOx has to make Daredevil as soon as possible to keep the rights.

I would hope Fox wouldn't waste Singer's talent on The Wolverine (just my opinion). I'd rather see him do X4. I expect a First Class sequel will get made too, but honestly, I think Singer has enough pull to do the film he wants -- i.e. if he wants to do an X4, he'll do it and someone else will direct FC2. If he wants to do FC2, he'll do it. Fox has proven they'll shove out these films endlessly so I don't see why both can't be made at some point.

Edit: Let me add that when Vaughn walked out on X3, they still got the movie out on schedule by getting a yes-man. I foresee the same thing happening with The Wolverine. 2012 release date, probably.

I think Singer will be overseer of the First Class trilogy. If matthew vaughn doesn't return
for the sequel they will probally bring someone else to direct under Singer as Producer.
I could see Singer directing The Wolverine. The writer IS longtime friend of his and often works with him.X4 or as I think Is more Likely X-Men:Day of Future past adaptan.

People should also remember It was singer who got Matthew Vaughn to do First Class. He almost said no untill Singer convinced him to do It.A singer directed WOlverine In Japan film would be Intresting but I would prefer a full X-Men film from him. After First Class Is out there will be a lot more Intrest In future of the franchise.

I think if X-Men: First Class is a success, FOX would really consider a X-Men: Second Class

But if its a failure (box-office wise), they could end this "First Class" series and just make an X-Men 4 movie.
