I don’t think writing out Xander is going to be hard. I don’t think Angel or Spike necessary either. SMG and whichever actress that will be the main Slayer will be the main draw.

The only other guest stars that you could integrate without it being a “legacy revival” would be Alyson, Eliza, Michelle Tractenberg, and Anthony Head. Maybe even Juliet Landau since she’s barely aged at all.

So i see no reason to bring Spike and Angel, back if Buffy isn't the main character and the main slayer of the show. I do hope to see Eliza Dushku back(as guest star not a part of the main cast). I also see no reason to make the Scooby gang(None of them) part of the main cast. Guesting... Ok, But nothing more then this.
Now the next thing is... I dread for How WOKE they gonna make the sequel.

Yeah. If Buffy is to be a kind of matriarch/”Watcher” to a new Slayer and team, then too much of the OG Scooby gang might actually be distracting and counterproductive. Perhaps a one-off guest appearance by Dawn or Giles would be fine.

So you never watched the show because.....it was fairly woke, just managed to not be in your face because it knew how to be subtle

This is such an unexpected piece of news with such an unexpected group of people working together that I am just completely shooketh. Poker Face is one my favourite shows in recent years so the Zuckerman sisters working on this is great news. Chloe Zhao is such a totally unexpected director for this but her involvement is also very exciting for me. And of course SMG coming back after all these years .

I’m guessing since Buffy herself is planned to be a recurring role, other cast members from the original would be guest roles at most, if they even appear at all. It’s safe to say certain cast members/characters + Joss Whedon himself won’t be missed.
