I mean, after what Joss wrote for her in that last season, do you blame her? And given what he know of his behavior, that may be a factor. Bring her back if a new regime can change her mind.

I won't be happy until we know if Xander is back or not.

Caulfield and SMG are besties. Of course she's returning.

Willow does another spell, rewrites time or something and BOOM everyone is alive and happy.
 
The only one I'd really want back to life is Cordelia. Well, and Fred, but she was never a Buffy character.

Dawn can be said to be away somewhere, as can Xander if that's not an option. Or, given that it's not Buffy's show, it can be left unstated.

I would have rather Buffy enter a gay relationship than Willow, because Buffy's relationships outside of Angel were never that great and I liked Xander and Willow together. I'm not a fan of Tara, either. What's done is done, though, and I don't like the idea of Buffy and Willow hooking up.

I'm open to the new show. I thought Buffy was best in the high school years, so returning to that with a new slayer sounds better to me than just continuing to follow Buffy and company some twenty years later.
 
I don't think anyone is really hoping for it to turn into a season 8.

But undo some of Joss's bad writing due to his issues, sure.

Why not?

As for Buffy at her best, for me it's definitely s5. But the setting really had nothing to do with it. Peak writing.

I don't want anyone brought back to life. Like would I love to see Fred again? Yes. She's my favorite character of the verse. But there being a parade of old characters feels like a really bad idea. Seeing Buffy, Willow, and Giles again makes sense considering the general setup and that there are numerous Slayers out there. So the council is going to need to exist and have members. Spike probably isn't really doable considering the whole age thing. Really don't want to see Xander or Angel ever again.
 
Bring back No one! What's done is done. It's not a Buffy show, so why bring back all of Buffy's (dead) characters. What's the point?
Though i wouldn't mind to get Faith Back for a few episodes. Illyria, too.
 
I forgot. If Hannigan is back in a capacity, she is definitely bringing the hubby along. So another one that needs to be revived.

As for how many returning appearances is appropriate, I think will depend on how many episodes we get. I am hoping to god that The Pitt and Andor will help convince those at FX that they can do more than 8 episodes, especially in a show that should be cheap to make.
 
I don't want to see Andrew again, and I see the point about the vampire characters, but otherwise I'm open to return appearances of the living (and Cordelia) if they make sense.

I dont think we can blame everything on his behavior. She was simply over the show as MOST actors become....like SMG was.

If Wesley were back, then they have to bring back my favorite shell. So I'd allow it. :o

While definitely possible that it was divorced of Whedon, considering what we know now, why someone might simply be "over" the show needs to be considered in context.
 
As much as I love her and Faith, I don't think this production could afford Dushku since she's a retired billionaire now.

But yes, keep Andrew FAR AWAY from this. Him and Spike both being shoved down our throats was a main reason why S7 was mid.
