I'm not sure, I've been thinking about that...are they worth it?

The Buffy season 8 comics were pretty good, they did feel like the same characters, probably because they were partly written by Whedon, and he oversaw the books he did not write. I missed issue 1 and 2 though, but from no3 I got it up to the teens, before i had to stop buying comics.

I bought the first issue of Angel 'after the fall', really bad, dreadul artwork, didn't like it at all, it didn't really feel like a continuation of the show. I read up on a thread discussing it on another site, with die-hard Buffy/Angel fans, and for the most part they all didn't much like the Angel comic, but enjoyed Buffy.

man, I wish I had not lent out my Angel boxsets, I would probably start re-watching season 3 right now.
It's an actor from 'The Dark Knight' who plays the main villan. I was glad to see he got a part in TDK, as he is a great nemesis for Angel in s3. Holy moses, you are in for a treat with s3.

There are motion comics for Season 8 of Buffy

I have angel: after the fall volume1 and spike after the fall, but in the buffy forums people like angel after the fall first issues (the ones written by Joss Whedon) and find that the other issues starting with aftermath are terrible but they found the 4 first volumes enjoyable, as for buffy season 8, most fans think it has become worse and worse when in issue 30 somethin happens that was quite stupid, but in my opinion, if youre a buffyverse fan you should read both series

Wait....that guy? I never realized he was in TDK.

I don't recall the actor's name, but the guy who played Holtz played the plainclothes cop who was on Gordon's team, the one who the Joker goads in the interrogation room, before taking him hostage.

edit: I got my s3 of Angel back today, I'm gonna rewatch it.

Does anybody know the seasons Doyle and Spike were supposed to be big bads in Angel?
May i assume that Doyle was going to be the big bad of the 2nd half of season 1 while spike was supposed to be the villain of season 1 or season 2?

I'm only five episodes into Season 6 and already Buffy's life has become really depressing. She got torn out of Heaven, kept that a secret, was thrown back into the responsibility of looking after Dawn, found out she was completely broke, couldn't handle going back to college, and lost both of the jobs she was given. And I'm guessing Giles is going to be leaving again soon, considering that he's no longer on the credits. I hope she gets a break sometime this season.

Spike was gonna join dru in season 2 I think.

I was dissappionted with the buffy comic cause a certian character appears in it (wont spoil it) and is just written totally different then he was on the show and his motivations are the complete opposite of what you had come to expect from him. It was also just to big like Joss whedon himself said. He saw it as Buffy with no budget so got a little lost in all he could get away with and lost the story. Season 9 and the angel and Faith team up comic I think will be alot better.
After the fall started off no clicking, but around the half way mark I really started to like it, yet was dissapointed with the end.

Ya Buffys life pretty much sucks this season. What can go wrong, will go wrong for her.

That seems to be something that happens in comics a lot. People just get lost having only their imaginations as the limit.

ell i liked them up to a point. the character i am talking about is a big spoiler so I dont want to reveal who it is. It did have some very good arcs and the Dracula one that has the odd friendship of Xander and Dracula is golden. But overall I just dont like the way Joss eneded it and how he seemed to forget how to write the spoiler character.

Wow, Willow's gone off the deep end. She just gave up magic, but I'm guessing it won't be long before she "relapses".

I thought the Darla arc from Season 2 would be hard to top but Season 3 has managed it already. I just finished watching "Dad", which was brilliant. Can't wait to see what the baby's true role in the prophecy is.

I started reading the comics but lost interest half way through.

iron man you are about to see wes go down the path that made him my favorite Whedon character of all time. Enjoy

^Dude, i would not post projections like that, it's vague but still spolier-y, as
there is an episode coming up where you think Wesley might in fact have been murdered

I'm looking forward to it!

Talking of Wes, the ending of "Couplets" - where the camera zooms out to show him having written 'The Father will kill the Son" - was a great twist. This show is definitely like Buffy in that it balances characterisation and interactions perfectly with storyline, so that after an episode centred around the team's relationships, it can still pull out a shocker like that at the end. Good stuff

I've really been enjoying Season 6 of Buffy, but I can see why it's not quite as highly regarded as the previous seasons. The writing and the overall arc remain very strong, especially when it comes to the individual character stories - Buffy's depression, Dawn's kleptomania, Willow's addiction, Xander and Anya's engagement - but it is overwhelmingly dark without much of the usual comedy to balance it out. It's nowhere near being bad or unenjoyable...it could just use a little more fun.

"Hells Bells" had some great ideas at its centre - one of Anya's old victims coming back to haunt her, Anya returning to D'Hoffryn to become a vengeance demon again, Xander facing his fears about becoming his father - but damn, I was hoping they'd just let Xander and Anya be happy. There was no real build-up to Xander's decision outside of this episode and it felt a little like the writers just sat down and wondered how they could make the characters a little more miserable.

Wes is my favorite character in the Buffyverse as well. His arc in Angel is just so fantastic.

I can't get enough of Season 3 of Angel. Just finished watching "Forgiving", which revealed that Sahjhan altered the prophecies and then had Angel going crazy at Wes at the end. This is awesome stuff :woot:
