Once More With Feeling: Buffy's best episode?

Ehhhh.... I don't think I'd agree. Great episode, sure. But I can think of alot of better episodes. The Body, for one.

"Passion" is probably my favorite episode of the series.

"Restless" is my personal favorite. But I'd say "Once More, With Feeling" is definitely somewhere in my top 5, so I don't think that article's far off at all.

The three of you just managed to name my top three episodes :)

I think i'd put them in this order.

1. The Body
2. Restless
3. Passion

Season 5 was the last really great season to me. Seasons 6 and 7 were largely mediocre, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm in the total minority of loving season 6.

I think it's just because I was in a really depressed place for a while, and I really connected to Buffys lack of ability to feel during that time; the loss of direction, continually doing things that she felt were 'wrong', going through the motions.

Plus, I have a lot of friends who got heavily into drugs too, and so I connected with the Willow situation as well.

I like the first half of season6, the 2nd half...not so much.

But I always end up missing pre-Heaven buffy.

Espically when it comes to her dislike of Spike.

I was watching a rerun on tv last night. god, I hate Riley.

I loved Riley and loved his pairing with Buffy. My favorite in fact. I was saddened when he made an early exit in S5

Riley was to much the boy next door during season4 and just couldnt get comfortable with his girlfriend being stronger than he is. I wouldnt have minded if he had come back during season6 full time with his new atttitude and rekindle things with Buffy.

it was just so easy. "oh hai, we both hunt vampires. let's fall in love!"

blegh. the entire Initiative story fell very flat to me, too. In concept, I think it's great. Why wouldn't the government have it's own division for hunting down the supernatural baddies? but the execution was just kinda lame and a little too convenient.

They already had an attraction to each other before they found out their secret identities so that was fine with me. Riley just didnt have much spark or unf to him that made him boring. Plus following Angel is a hard thing to do.

I thought they were both great in season 4. Its in season 5 when things fell apart and he seemed to have more issues with her being a slayer. I think he was more confident with himself and cool with her in season 4, I guess bc he had the Initiative thing he had going on

I completely lost track of Buffy and Angel...had a busy few months and haven't had enough time to continue watching through. I'll have to try and get back into them so I can finally finish them.

Believe me we're ALL waiting!

Primal Slayer I love your avatar, Rule Brittania!:woot:

Favourite ep is 'Bewitched, bewildered and bebothered' a Xander tour de force and the ep that made me a fan. As for Riley he was a nice guy but he was a character who really didn't belong in the Buffyverse, too bland and too one dimensional. He was the traditional hero in a world that was about very untraditional heroes.

Just ordered my Buffy season 8 stop motion DVD today, don't know if it will be any good but I gotta say it was a thrill just to think I'll have a new Buffy episode to watch!

Anyone seen Iron Man around?

Anybody reading Season 9's Buffy and Angel & Faith comics?

If it werent full of generic voices it wouldnt be so bad.

EW just did an article on "What if?" episodes and brought up an interesting idea for Buffy that I've actually never thought of before...

What if Angel never left Sunnydale?

Really would of sucked if we never got the Angel spinoff. Wesley's arc throughout the series was amazing. Plus Angel became a way more interesting character.

If he stayed on Buffy he would of just kept being her ***** and been killed off eventually.

Maybe we'd have had Spike as the PTB's champion in LA?

Angel did have to go, you could only allow the whole Sam/Diane or Fleischman/O'Connell thing to go so far before it got boring. They were already making fun of it by season3 in The Zeppo (although CC's and Wes' version on Angel season 3 was priceless)

The answer to that is pretty solid actually. Angel would never have come back from Hell. The character was essentially written back in to Buffy in the 3rd season to build him up for the spin-off.

But joss was going to bring him back if the spin-off didnt work.

Never watched the show, but is it safe to say the cast is getting some nice $$$ from re-runs on TNT and Chiller?

No not really. I dont think any of them had a share in syndication rights. Very few actors in shows do.

So I just finished up the last season of Angel, :( ,and I'm trying to get into the expanded universe comics but it's just so damn confusing. Anyone know where I can find a simple list of all the comics after each show's ending in chronological order? Only canon material and having to do directly with Buffy or Angel's show. e.g. Spike, Lorne, Illyria, Gunn, Willow etc.

the only comics that are official canon are the Buffy season 8 comics and Angel: After the Fall. They recently started Buffy season 9 and an Angel and Faith series, along with a Spike series if I'm not mistaken.

the trades are numbered in order 1-8 for Buffy and After the Fall is labelled chronologically, too. Volume 4 of After the Fall just came out in paperback yesterday, though it's all in hardback already.

edit: sorry, Buffy: the Origin is also canon. It's a comic representation of Whedon's original script for the Buffy movie and is more consistent with what Whedon intended the movie to be. It also fixes continuity errors between the movie and the show. Most notably that in the movie, Buffy's old highschool gym didn't burn down, even though in the show they mention that several times.
