BvS BvS Rottentomatoes score - how important will it be, and what do you hope for? - Part 6

Exactly. People seem to zone in on any mention of fun in every review but completely gloss over everything else. Critics are saying its a poorly conceptualized, plotted and executed movie. And on TOP of that, it's not fun. It's it's going to be an absolute **** show as far as story goes it should at least be fun to watch. Which it isn't. And that's what critics are saying.

This movie is not ahead of its time or pushing boundaries or even ultra edgy. I would bet all the money in my pockets it will be forgotten in ten years. Maybe five in JL gets delayed.

I think this will be another ASM2 where it's so bad it changes the plans of the franchise, in this case, the whole DC universe. I can honestly say I have zero interest in watching JL if Zack Snyder is directing it.

The tone never bothered me. In fact, there were a lot more jokes in it than I thought there would be. They were just bad jokes. I like dark films. I like weird films. People need to quit making excuses that it's too dark or too weird for critics or whatever. There's no artistic boundaries being pushed here. It's not a future missunderstood masterpiece. It's a stinker.

How was the story for you?

Anyone here who did not care for the movie much feel like it was a mistake to bring Terrio on board? Or was it Snyder? Or was it in the editing room?

The story was boring. Everyone hates Superman until they don't anymore. That's the ****ing story. There was plenty of bad dialogue. Character motivations were really stupid at times. Superman's reasoning for fighting Batman is so ****ing cheesy and Batman's motivation for ending the fight may be cheesier.

Again, Batman is my favorite fictional character. I wanted this to be good so bad, but I thought everything about this film aside from two scenes and two characters(Bruce and Alfred) were awful.

People aren't liking Cavill now? I think he's pretty good in the role personally. I definitely don't think he was the problem with MoS.

Most movies are forgotten within a year. What's your point in stating that?

Audience score just dropped to 80%. It was at 86% less than 24 hours ago. I think it will end up in the 60's for audience score. It is too early to look at the audience score as set in stone because too many people vote before seeing the film. 99% of the global audience hasn't even seen it yet.

This same thing is happening with Civil War too. Already over 80,000 votes for that one although RT won't say what the audience score is until the week of release. Similar stuff happens on every big movie with large fanbases.

I honestly can't BELIEVE this is been torn apart like that, I really can't. I just came back from watching it and I enjoyed it so much, I understand it getting mixed reviews but this is just a bloodbath.

When MoS came out I agreed with the score, I was disappointed, I could see everything clearly but now, wow, it really amazes me, it doesn't deserve all this hate.

I think it's more of a MOS thing, atleast for me it was (have not seen BvS yet, but from what i seen of his dialogue, i like it, other then when he SLOW BLINKS again when he tells Louis Superman never existed). As someone said, he has very little dialogue in the movie (MOS) and as i said i wish his carisma levels were a bit higher at times, he comes across as a statue in certain scenes when he should he acting as if the worlds about to explode.

In all fairness i like Cavill, i gave him a pass in MOS due to it being more of an origin film where he was sposed to act confussed, i just feel he acted a little more confussed then he should have. Throw a smile in there every now and then with some personality behind it, your not a robot Henry.

Hoping to see more life out of him in BvS, and he better react accordingly when ***** is about to go down! NO MORE SUPER SLOW blinking eye's when he's about to get his ass kicked or someone is about to blow the earth up! :sly:

Oh yea, that audience score will drop like a rock once people actually see the film, and stop blindly voting.

Haven't rated it yet, I need to think my score, It's 4am here and I'm so hungry! :hmr:

Anyway, 30% at RT? oh my god, It's making me question my sanity cause I usually agree with critics :oldrazz:

if putting you in his shoes, will u be happy and smile all day long? yes, he is almost invincible, but not his feeling. he shows sad face when he is sad. he is just a simple guy. why superman isn't allow to be sad and have to be cheerful most of the time???
because he is the light? he should shine through the darkness no matter what???
and Clark really has a live in BvS... unlike all the previous superman movies.

If it makes you feel any better, the average critic score is 5/10. That is not exactly worst movie ever territory. It's just sort of a "meh" critical reaction.

People have to remember the audience scores are still mostly european/international audiences. Let's see what happens after 1 week, shall we?

For this movie, it's not even Euro/International scores. The film did not open a week early overseas like the MCU tends to do. It's mostly just fans (and trolls) voting before they see the film. 99% of the global audience hasn't seen the film. My guess is it will end up in the 60's, but who knows. Maybe the audience will love it and it'll end up in the 90's.

I'm going to venture a guess that a lot of those user reviews are fans purposely elevating the scores, and in a lot of cases by people who haven't even seen the film yet. The fact that number is falling indicates more and more genuine user reviews are being submitted, couple with the fact the film has only just opened today in some parts of the world.

have you watched it JMC? you don't like it too???

But still! it's not a meh movie. Especially when AoU (I know I'm sorry I don't wanna be one of those DCvsMarvel fans, I love and enjoy both) has a much higher and a fresh score. Oh my god.

Well, I'll just sit here and enjoy watching it again, :oldrazz: it's not like it doing good or bad is gonna change my life.
Meh to that score

It's not ridiculous, it's just a shorthand way of explaining why they didn't like it. And being enjoyable or fun on some level is an absolute mandatory thing for any mainstream(which this definitely IS) superhero film. That's just basic superhero film making 101. You flout that at your peril.

And honestly, why spent $250+ mil to only please a small faction of fanboys who only craved "dark, gritty, no fun" superhero movie? Did WB think they can try to appeal to the mainstream audience by only appealing to a limited demographic?

Ultron average score is 6.7, pretty much a middle of the road average rating. The Tomatometer percentage can be a bit misleading.

I hope that David Ayer and Patti Jenkins are left alone.
