By the Bristling Beard of Odin! The Thor Thread - Part 2

I have no idea why people get so worked up about comic 'gimmicks'. Female Thor will be around for a year, 2 years TOPS. Don't sweat it, she'll be gone before you can say 'Ragnarok'.

Some of Loki's power was stolen, if he lost that it would make sense. In being reborn he might well gain only that power that was naturally his.
At first I thought it was that the reborn Loki just hadn't learned to use magic as well, which would make sense because he lacked a lot of his memories. But now the original Loki has taken over the reborn Loki's body, so he should have all the magical training he used to. I guess part of his power must've been lost or stolen somehow; otherwise it makes very little sense for him to be running around using a sword instead of wielding sorcery on the level of Dr. Strange, like he used to.

Let me clarify, Loki stole power from other sorcerers to become as powerful as he was. In one case he sacrificed his tutor to Surtur in exchange for his tutors power being given to him. He may not have the stolen power anymore.

Did he? I thought he just trained under Karnilla and others. I wouldn't be surprised if he stole power, though.

What has Karnilla been up to lately anyway?

Lots of nothing. She was last involved with that whole Tanarus mess during Fraction's awful, awful run.

I doubt it. The majority of great Karnilla stories feature Balder, and they haven't even seen fit to include Balder in the MCU yet.

Been pretty much out of the Thor loop. Two thoughts, I rem a " What If " where Jane Foster was Thordis. What if Fury had said this " you could have prevented, Ragnarok killing Bill Foster" . Just a thought of a wild idea.
Thor was in the Godsleep, how could he have prevented Foster's death?

Got this for $2.50 on clearance at Walmart

If the Odinson doesn't get his hammer back after Secret Wars, I'll be very unhappy

and I resent the characterization in this article that everyone who dislikes the change is sexist and a friggin' idiot
I never said this comic would fail, or destroy the industry, just that I like having Thor in my Thor comics

cuz ya know, there is no way someone can just like the old character better, it's gotta be sexism, obviously </sarcasm>

I got that coffee mug for Christmas, Vartha. I've been using it at work lately. :D

Also, I don't care when the original Thor gets Mjolnir back, just so long as he does. I'm enjoying the new Thor quite a lot. And the original Thor's been in almost every issue of the new series so far.

yeah, but I'm ready for him to stop being all mopey and to not have to refer to him as Odinson anymore, lol

I still never call him "Odinson." Although I did like that it facilitated a comment about how it's a terrible name because he's so much more than just his father's son in the last issue. I call him the original Thor, usually. Because even though I'm obviously all for the new Thor and enjoying her exploits quite a bit, "Thor" is still the dude's friggin' name.

HR and Seahammer like the mug too lol

I'm loving this new Run on Thor and the twist that what ever it was that Nick whispered effect ODIN too.
I still can't get over that Mjolnir called the new Thor to it. Wonder if it has to do with the reforging?

What can you do. The writer decided to get political in his piece. I think that most of the hostility came from people who hate it when writers change the gender and/or ethnicity of a comic character to mask a lack of originality when writing a storyline. I disliked it cause I was getting tired of Thor getting killed and now he was going to be turned into a woman. After reading that was not the case I chilled.

I have come to realize that the current writer for Thor came up with an original idea some that I find really COOL! Eventually Thor will have to regain his worthiness. I just hope that that happens before the current Thor loses her trendiness.

Did it affect Odin, or is Mjolnir's magic simply evolving beyond Odin? I choose to think the latter. We know that the gods can be influenced by narratives and perception and such.

Maybe the next writer can be persuaded to have Odin nail the current writer to the World Ash for screwing with him and his magic. If anyone connected with Marvel reads this I freely consent to the use of this idea without compensation. While a small credit would be nice I won't even require that. :)

Meh, Odin can always benefit from getting taken down a peg or two. Dude's one of the biggest toolboxes in comics.

Could be. It IS a different universe than when Mjolnir was first forged

Yeah he is, he NEVER acknowledged the fact Thor stopped the Ragnarok cycle, something he probably couldn't do himself.
I would have liked to have seen Rune Thor and Odin interact at LEAST once

Oeming was great on Thor! I wish he was given a Simonson type of run as the writer!

A buddy of mine posted this on my FB page. I gotta find this
