The Dark Knight Caine: "Heath frightened the life out of me"

But not that she was a good actress right?

Well, I'm aware. But I live in a place where little to nothing was known about Katie and Tom, at least during the BB release. Nevertheless what she did on screen was poor, promotion or not promotion.

I don't remember Bale ever saying anything about her acting ability. I'm not going to say he didn't say anything about it, I just don't remember if he did or not.

That was one quote that really stuck in my mind. In fact, I honestly don't remember any of the cast praising her acting ability. But don't hold me to that because I could very well be wrong.

I don't remember anybody doing that either.

Caine was probably coerced into saying that about heath not implying that he isn't frightening but you can't expect a co worker to publicly say something bad about an actor that could affect the success of the movie.

Or maybe heath really is doing a kick ass job?

I mean we all saw that short clip of him by the car just walking and does any one remember how every one freaked out just about that? I think its possible he nailed and well see the best damn joker on film!

Plus its going to have a great story (well I'm hoping, but I think its safe to say were going to all get something good out of this)

Yes, and those people just fit right into the stereotype of geeks freaking out over absolutely nothing. :o

^Dude its just a few walks by a car we have to see more to judge Health's performance as joker other that a few movements around a car.

If your just gonna continue to say this we get your point that your trying to say. But it is clear you are a Marvel fan and a half, so if your here just to stir up dust just leave man.

Wait a minute people actually freaked about that clip of Heath around the car. Was this the same group of people freaked out about Jokers socks being multi - colored in that leaked pic?

yeah but I think people were just excited to see heath in movement for once, you know how some people are around here.

Hey dude, I said PROBABLY coerced. We don't know for sure what goes on behind the scenes of these movies. It's just a valuable assumption.

No way n00b. N00bs can't make request like that. Ah who am I kidding. Bloody it is then.

Yeah, it's just a bit hard for me to come to a conclusion of an actor's performance or an entire film just by seeing a 10 second clip of Heath standing by a car.

I wonder if Caine is saying too much? This is a little more elaboration from something called earthtimes:

NEW YORK, Oct. 2 British actor Michael Caine says Heath Ledger is fantastic as the villainous Joker in the upcoming Batman flick "The Dark Knight."

Caine reprises his "Batman Begins" role of butler Alfred in the sequel.

"I tell you the big surprise in the new 'Batman' -- Heath Ledger as the Joker," Caine told reporters in New York Tuesday, while promoting his new film, "Sleuth."

"He's fantastic. He's gone in a different direction than Jack (Nicholson) ... Jack was like a really scary old, nasty old uncle with a funny face. Heath is like the most murderous psychopath you have ever seen on the screen," Caine said.

Caine then recalled the first time he saw Ledger in his Joker regalia. It was for a scene in which the Joker bursts unexpectedly into a room via elevator.

"I was waiting for Batman's guests, but (the Joker) had taken over the elevator with -- he has seven dwarfs and... oh! wait until you see them. So, I'd never seen any of it and the elevator door opened and they came out and I forgot every bloody line. They frightened the bloody life out of me .... It's amazing and it's so different from Jack."

Dwarfs?

Joker bursts out of an elevator with his thugs and Alfred goes haywire. Sounds good.

In a perfect world, Alfred would grab a blunt object, assume a karate-position and then the stylized, slow-motion fighting sequence would begin.

Chances of this happening are very slim. But in Nolan I trust.

that would happen in a completely unperfect bizarro world
