Can DC/Warner Brothers release Justice League the movie before 2021?

Yes. Superman can't be used by WB/DC after 2012. No JL w/Supes and no MOS sequel.

WB needs to make plans, which I'm sure it's doing, regarding it's film franchises with the assumption there will be no more Superman to use.

That is scary and alarming!

Just to give people a little hope, there were some documents, that were thought stolen that have recently been returned back to Warner, giving them much higher hopes as to their ability to regain their half of the Superman copyright. What they are however is anyone's guess. Along with that Warner are still making preparations that could still see Superman survive should they lose the lawsuit, such as:

New costume
No Lois romance
The powerset Siegel set up hasn't been used since 1986

Plus, this doesn't include the fact that Warner own the copyright for:

Lex Luthor
Kryptonite
Perry White (not his gruff demeanor)
Jimmy Olsen
Expanded Origin
Sensory powers
Tactile Telekinesis

And everything Superman outside the US.

Plus Warner own all Superman trademarks including the name and symbol. It's very possible that the Warner Superman can be viewed as a separate entity. But it would need to be published as something other than Superman, just like Man of Steel is.

Accordng to the article it's not likely WB will be able to get away with splitting the character. The article talks about a similar situation where the character wasn't allowed to be separated in two.

Basically meaning WB/DC would have to pay large amounts to the heirs to use their rebooted Superman. Even if they are calling him Man of Steel. Or the heirs could simply refuse to play and block anything DC atempts to do with it's portion of the rights.

Well I guess we'll all find out eventually. No one can claim to know how it will play out.

Right now, I don't think so,

From what I've heard; Ryan Reynolds will appear in the Justice League. But they won't include Christian Bale and the new Superman.

Oh man this is why Marvel is better.

DC should be fast making these movies.

NOTE: Can someone move this thread into the DC Movies section? Thanks

You are absolutley right. How could DC make a Justice League movie when every movie they put out clearly could not relate to any other movie they put out. Dark Knight is so dark and gritty, which i love by the way, but then you have Superman Returns. Not only did the movie blow, but it was so....i dont know, family friendly? Now Brandon Routh's Superman could work next to Reynolds Green Lantern, but you have to wait and see how Wonder Woman is going to work. Then what about Aquaman? The Flash? Marvel is so much better in the fact that every movie they make seems real almost. Plauseable. Every role Iron Man to Hulk from Thor to Spider-Man could all be cast together. DC seems to worry to much about the right now, and Marvel is capitalizing on epic movies that are also building up to what should be the highest grossing movie of all time. Like the way they use the after credit scene to tie each movie together, and DC uses the after credit for a stand alone sequel. I loved Green Lantern and The Dark Knight, but there is no way i can fathom DC making a Justice League movie without losing their butt. And in my opinion, if Marvel is smart, they will make The Avengers an intended two part movie, with the team battleing the Hulk the first movie, only to conquer him in time for an "end of the Earth" threat in the second.
