The Dark Knight Rises Can it be topped?

Can it be topped?

  • Yes-I trust Nolan and company will bring the goods.

  • No-TDK is the ultimate high and can’t be topped.

With BB he proved he can. There's nothing to suggest that he won't do it in TDKR. TDK was a transitionary film which may have slightly shifted the focus to Dent, but the reprecussions of that film are there for Gotham and mainly for Batman. If anything, TDKR is the perfect film for Batman to shine again.

Oh. Well, then, yes, you'll definitely be disappointed.

Exactly.:word:

Sure, but if you haven't liked the approach to the character so far, I don't think his approach will be so different in TDKR that it will change your mind. But I've been wrong before.

@MisterStrange, which actress do you want to portray Catwoman?

Megan Fox!

Lol no I'm completley kidding. To be honest, I don't know which actress I would like to see portray Selina. I hand't really thought about that when I wrote my character ideas for her. I was more interested in how a character such as Catwoman could play out in Nolan's film. :woot:

I'll get back to you on who my top choice would be.

I agree.

@jazzmatik

I would have to say that my ideal choice for Selina would be the ever stunning Eva Green.

Haha oooops. Didn't realize how large that picture of Catwoman is.

Anyways all credit goes to josephcaesarsd of DeviantArt for his amazing artwork and vision of Catwoman. This is exactly how I imagined her.

I doubt the storyline, villains and the film in general can top TDK.

Eva Green is best known for taking part in scenes that nearly fits in the "porn" category. Batman is marketable not only to adults but kids as well so I doubt that's the kind of actress you'd want to promote.

That's really irrelevant that she was in a movie like Dreamers when she's attained far more mainstream recognition from a James Bond film and The Golden Compass, a family film.

Christian Bale played Patrick Bateman, a serial killer and rapist in a movie that featured numerous scenes of graphic sex, violence, and drug use, including Batman himself running around naked with a chainsaw.

If you watched her earlier films that made her famous to begin with then you'd know. A simple Google search can expose you to amazing things. She found fame (especially in USA) for her 007 film, but nothing is hidden on the internet and it's no secret kids in general are bigger computer nerds than adults.

I'm not familiar with Eva's work as an actress but she looks the part. That's an awesome rendition of Catwoman. I assume her costume looks similar to Batman's kevlar armour due to stealing from Wayne Enterprise, according to your thoughtful interpretation. I'd be almost disappointed if she didn't look like that for that reason.

Perhaps you don't understand the word "insane". Maybe you have a different opinion. Keep it at that instead of labeling mine as "insane".

I apologize if that seemed coarse, but I still fail to see any logic in your argument.

I've seen Eva Green's films, and I'd like if you could point out to me anything that would disqualify her from being in a Batman movie (that, as I pointed out, didn't disqualify her from being in other family friendly projects) or anything more objectionable (if there could be such a thing amongst actors portraying fiction) than the actor who plays Batman himself in numerous graphic sex and murder scenes.

Christian Bale never took part in a scene where a woman clearly exposes his thing on film. It was cut from the US version (but the internet is used more than television by both adults and kids nowadays) but this is my opinion on why WB wouldn't want to promote her for a film series that is best known for attracting children.

And when it comes down to it, she isn't considered for the female role in TDKR so the argument is really pointless.

So, if Bale's "thing" was exposed during his nude killing of a prostitute with a chainsaw after he mutilates another woman with his teeth, bites the prostitute on the leg and chases her scantily clad frame through the deserted halls of an apartment while he is covered in blood from said piercing of the other human's flesh, would you think it not appropriate for him to be Batman due to the difficulties with marketing a film, in which a homicidal, scar-carving clown blows up the hero's childhood friend, to children with access to the internet?

Cillian Murphy has shown his penis on film. Gary Oldman has played numerous grotesque characters. Eric Roberts has a history of drug abuse and domestic assault. Maggie Gyllenhaal played a masochistic secretary where she bared all. It's irrelevant.

Stallone did a porno. That didn't stop him from becoming Stallone.

You'll have to excuse my befuddlement because I've never heard this argument made before, ever.

According to some, fake blood and staged violence is okay but a real graphic nude scenes isn't. But you're missing the point - it's MY OPINION on why WB wouldn't want to promote someone like that.

I wouldn't know because I don't have the time to watch every movie Cillian Murphy starred in. As for Stallone, that's irrelevant because he has nothing to do with TDKR but I understand your point.

I know it's your opinion. I never said it wasn't. I asked you a question, in the realm of your opinion, and you didn't offer me such an answer. So I guess it was actually you who missed my point.

So perhaps I should rephrase. Do you think female nudity and sexual situations are far more controversial than rape, mutilation, grotesque murder and cannibalism in the minds of parents with young children who have access to the internet? I guess, in some ways, you've already answered that though.
