The Winter Soldier Captain America 2: News and Speculation - Part 8

I'm pretty sure that the WSC has appeared in the comics before. They are likely officials who have been granted oversight by various governments and organizations.

I'm talking about using it in the movie, not in the trailer. If you're in the theater, chances are you won't need to be sold on the lineup.

Chances are the Guardians actually meet in prison (The Kyln). A lineup scene might well be the first time the audience is introduced to the rest of the crew, after they've had a first reel to get to know Quill and his (new) universe.

I kind of agree/kind of disagree here. They would seem a lot less boring if they were fleshed out a bit. But, at the same time, in The Avengers, I personally don't think they were necessary beyond being an explanation that Nick Fury and SHIELD had some sort of international approval. All we needed was that initial quick scene or a throwaway line, just so we as the audience found Nick Fury and SHIELD to be plausible.

It's possible WS will do something better with them, and perhaps, as we get to know more about SHIELD we will need some more info about it's inner workings, but going off of what I saw in Avengers, I'm concerned. I don't want to watch a movie about dull bureaucrats giving Nick Fury red tape issues. I have SG-1 reruns for that.
First of all, it was to show that everyone has a boss and Fury is not just acting of his own accord. Second, you'll get your wish because it's clear the Council will be much more than that in this film.

I'm pretty sure that the WSC has appeared in the comics before.

Those are old comics from like the Abe Lincoln days. :o

j/k I need to get around to reading some 70's Fury.

I almost forget what Nick Fury looks like when he's not SLJ. :o

LIttle known fact: Captain America fought in WW2 thanks to time travel. So why not see him in WW1??

little known fact: Cap's farts propel him through the air. So why not see a Cap and Falcon aerial battle, ala top gun??

still befuddled by the director choice on this one. not that i think they can't do a good job, i'm open-minded about it, i'm just wondering how and why they got the job in the first place. if there's an article or interview somewhere that adds some insight and someone could point me in the right direction, i'd be obliged.

several of the Marvel choices were surprising or under-the-radar when first announced but when you thought about them, they made a lot of sense. with this i'm just like, "so, the guys who directed a bunch of Community episodes, huh?" far be it from me to let their past dictate their future or whatever, i'm just saying, their resume to date is almost entirely TV comedy. and i love Community, for instance...but still, weird choice that i still don't know what to make of it.

Just search Youtube or Google for articles and videos about them and you'll find why Marvel chose them.

Because of a paintball action sequence in Community. And it sounds like they've delivered.

I'm probably wrong in assuming that you guys are aware of the fact that Captain America fought in WWII because he was born in 1918 and thus was of age to serve during that war. They made a movie about Cap's wartime exploits that you should watch. It's called Captain America: The First Avenger.

But have Avengers Steve go back in time and fight alongside himself!!!!!!

Have Tony go with him and fight alongside his dad's younger self.

1. Greatest reaction possible.
2. For the sake of humanity and the SHH! boards, I assume they're joking.

Or SpiderCool is a troll. Have my suspicions but am willing to give him/her a chance.

Alan Taylor is mostly known for tv as well so it seems to be what they're going for.
