Supergirl Casting CWverse Superman for Supergirl

I was think more like Sam Witwer, Alan Ritchson or even Justin Hartley

Sam Witwer always looked creepy in Smallville, and the other two don't look at all like Superman.

People keep bringing him up. Matt Bomer is half the size Mehcad Brooks is. Just... no.

Matt Bomer is like 6feet. If RDJ can walk around in platform shoes to make himself look taller they can do the same with Matt.

And what do you do with his tiny, little, wee bit frame? NFL shoulder pads?

Joe Manganiello ? Nope, lol.

What's wrong with him? He probably looks more the part than anyone that's ever been suggested here. Dye the gray, give him blue contacts, bam. Hell, it's not like he's going to play him on a permanent basis. Plus he's charismatic and actually loves the character and has wanted to play him for years.

He doesn't really look like Superman, though, with the broken giant nose and the elf ears.

Can this potentially lead to CW-Superman to appear on Flash and Arrow as well? *crosses fingers*

I imagine its *possible*, but I wouldn't really count on it. Remember, the show is still "Supergirl". I could only see Superman interacting with the others if the crossover is a complete and total "All hands on deck" affair, where the supporting cast of *everybody* is showing up.

And because the timelines are entirely different.

I imagine, if you wished, you could assume that there's an "Earth-Smallville" somewhere out there. Its just a silly place that no one visits, at least not more than once. Particularly if they get a chance to see how the local superheroes dress. ;)

Bomer is less than 6ft, and he definitely looks smaller built than Brooks. There's no way they can make him look bigger or even as big as Olsen.

And does RDJ ever look bigger than Evans or Hemsworth when he stands next to them? They always look much bigger built than him. Bomer is going to look like he has a really slight frame next to Brooks.

James Lafferty anyone? With Sophia Bush Lois Lane?

David Giuntoli (from Grimm) would be good. Too bad he's employed and already staring on a show on NBC....

I'm probably not the first to suggest this, but....Tom Welling?

I mean, Smallville was a CW show. Maybe Arrowverse it retroactively?

I wouldn't be averse to Welling though I'm sure that isn't a very popular opinion. Also, I don't think that would happen.

I do not really know who I would like to see in that role. I do know this though... I was not a fan of Smallville. Never cared for Welling's portrayal of Clark Kent. I could not get into that show, and a large reason was Tom Welling. I also chalk it up to the "been there, done that" mentality. Let someone new fill the role.

Luke Roberts from Game Of Thrones and Black Sails

Robert's girlfriend Freema Agyeman was one of the leads on a former CW show

Little too young?
that was one of the first names that came to mind, when trying to think of former CW stars who'd fit (I remember suggesting him back in the day for Superboy) not to sound superficial or mean, but, when I googled some recent shots of him, he is not really looking the part these days (which is kinda ironic that people are calling him out as being too young) as he definitely out grow those young prettyboy looks of his (that people are probably picturing when thinking of him) but, he didn't grow into look more like Supes

nothing against him personally, but, no

They arent going to land a guy like Joe Manganiello. Too expensive.

im hopefully for Tom Welling since it seems like his show sector 13 might not get picked up and it would help boost Supergirl's ratings since i think most people arent really fans of the show. Im a big supes guy but ive hated the cheesyness and wanted some superman/supergirl interactions beyond a few text messages.

I don't think casting Tom Welling is the way to go if you want less cheesiness. :oldrazz:

I would like to see it be either Tom Welling or Henry Cavill and both for the same reason; to highlight the multiverse. Tom Welling playing Clark Kent/Superman on Earth-S (Supergirl's Earth) or Henry Cavill guess appearing as the Earth-S Superman (preferably in the more colorful, typical Superman uniform) would show that the Smallville Universe or the Cinematic Universe exist within the same multiverse as the CW universes.
