Supergirl Casting CWverse Superman for Supergirl

If you include the Smallville comics, they acknowledge other worlds. But, the show did that too.

I'm sold.

Any pictures of Tom welling with like t shirt on taken recently?

he was in "OK" shape back in Smallville but bot nearly as heroic as modern TV/Film superheroes...

Did he let himself go?

Not sure what he looks like now, but he definitely lost a lot of definition toward the end of SV's run.

google search turned up less than flattering images of him on the red carpet from 2016.... haha. Kinda teh puffy in the face and one in a t shirt looked like just normal bodied dude (nothing wrong with that but we are talking superman here)

Anyone they cast can hit the gym etc...BUT what worries me is that if they want to shoot sooner than later...

one thing, whomever they cast as superman needs to be able to at least sit at the same table as Henry Cavill. Maybe not as BIG as him muscular wise but if there is a laughable difference people are gonna talk about it.

Welling kind of looks like he's getting a double chin these days. I don't know if he's developed a pot belly at his age, but that's often when men start to (although they can even earlier if they don't eat correctly or never exercise).

I know that he has a lot of fans out there that want to see him in the suit, but his attitude toward the whole thing has kinda been "blah" and there is just no excitement behind it like Laura V. showed when it first came out on twitter that she would be in the first season.....even when she wasn't sure of anything she was totally excited about it. He is just.... "meh, whatever....." that just isn't an attitude that fits this show at all.

Well, I mean...he's an actor. He doesn't have to be really, really excited to be a part of the show to be a part of the show.

Melissa Benoist is a better actor than him and she's always excited about everything about the show, and it always comes across.

Not really my point, but ok....not really a point of debate, just my observations of what I've seen from this cast as a whole, including those that were only guest starring, that's all. :) I believe attitude and caring that shows in an enormous way through the actors as they portray their characters, for me, is a major reason why this show works, he doesn't seem to really care for the character of Superman. Just doesn't seem to be his cup of tea, which is fine....but I do think that it would show up in the chemistry with the other actors. Again, just my observation.</span>

Not sure what your point was, then, because I interpret it in the exact same way I did before.

Welling is an actor. His enthusiasm (or lack thereof) wouldn't influence how he comes across on screen unless he let it, which would be an entirely different problem.

I'm starting to like the idea of Brett Dalton. He sounds like he's up for it too.

ok...

but is it too soon for him to cross over to DC, has it even been confirm that's he's definitely done on AOS this itme?

He played an NFL QB in last years film "Draft Day".

I just find a new actor much more appealing from a creative standpoint. The idea of Welling returning for me would be underwhelming and would seem like fan service for those who always wanted to see him play Superman a decade ago.

I find a new actor, assuming they fit the role well, with a clean slate, who you could potentially move forward with for several years in potential new DCTVU projects, much more exciting and appealing.

But, it depends on if they find a new actor who really knocks it out of the park the way Benoist has.

Fixed. :o

Crazy thought I just had: what if wifey calls in a favor and Channing Tatum ends up playing Superman?

Honestly, I think we're going to be looking at someone lesser-known who is around 38 at minimum (so that they look older than Mehcad), but playing a couple years younger. Whomever they cast will also most likely be a physical match for Kevin Caliber, the body double actor they used in Season 1 (he's 6'1).
