Chapter 4: The Kindness of Strangers Discussion 10/15/2007

I had to settle for the quote this week. :csad:

Maybe tomorrow I'll rewatch and get a better one.

uh, no, it's not open to interpretation. Parkman pointed to his father, and she said he's the nightmare man. then Molly said she'd help find Parkman's father and guess what? it was the nightmare man.

I'm rewatching it right now, and he definitely didn't point at anything when Molly was there. It's a long shot, true.

I don't know. Why did Kensei suddenly discover he could heal himself? I thought that was explained because Hiro somehow transmitted some virus thing (not THE virus that the Haitian and others have) to him when he went back to Japan. If not, that's a huge plot hole.
just because you don't understand it doesn't make it a plot hole. the eclipse triggered the abilities, just like it did last season (for the most part).

They havent written her off yet shes coming back next episode and "4 months later" and probably others.
well, at least there's that. though why that they felt the need to wait eight episodes to explain it is-:whatever:
A few things I noticed:

Micah giving his cousin "sweet dreams" by touching her spine.
The cockroach mysteriously reappeared.
Nana doesn't seem to be one of the 12, and there were no real surprises as to who was in the photo.

I'd still like to believe Nana is tied in somehow.

And while at first I thought maybe Micah was doing to something to her, I figure they just wanted to emphasize that Micah misses his mom and needs somebody there for him.

Man...my home city finally shows up in Heroes, and it's where the Nightmare Man lives.

:csad:

Why..Didn't..ANYONE..take..a..screenshot..of...the..photo...dotdotdot.
Honestly, who the fack were the other people in the group?

Plenty of them had powers before the eclipse(as we saw in "Six Months Ago"). I don't think it's significance has to do with ability triggering.

I am computer illiterate. Screen shots aren't really possible for me. :(

Mrs. Petrelli also had a sort of lingering touch as well, and so far, nothing has panned out. Still hoping it has something to do with the electrical currents in the spine. The nerd in me would enjoy that.
;)

I think the eclipse isn't so much tied to the powers, but to destiny or whatever force that brings them together. The eclipse that appeared last season happened months after their powers manifested.
no, it coincided with the powers (six months ago episode).

i dont just want a cap of the photo of the 12, but i woudn't mind a cap of when molly's eyes had the "Godsend" symbol in them. that was pretty cool

the abilities are there from birth. the eclipse was the catalyst for many, waking up the dormant abilities. check out "behind the eclipse" at comicbookresource. it's a weekly q&a with the writers. you'll find information there regarding the eclipse and the wakening of the abilities.

there was an eclipse in that episode?
pretty sure. maybe i have the episodes mixed up, since it was the first one i saw. might be confusing it for the first episode.

edit: i don't want to imply that the eclipse triggered EVERYONE'S power; it didn't. it was a catalyst for many, though, and maybe a catalyst for the call to destiny, if you will. just like this group of heroes had a destiny, there is a destiny for Kensei to fulfill and the eclipse was a catalyst for both his ability and destiny.

I know there was an eclipse in the season 1 opener, but then they never really mentioned it again after that....

Oh is that what that was? The contrast on my TV is forked up :(

Are we going to see Claire and West fly up into the air and makeout every week?

Good ep though. I really thought they wouldn't do that good for the 2nd season but so far i'm liking it.

Not too much happened in this episode except a couple of relevations. But the preview for next week's episode looks fantastic.

I'm finding myself getting really tired of Claire. I don't think it would kill them to have an episode without her.
