Chapter 5: "Fight or Flight" Discussion 10/22/07

Molly was attacked by Maury/Nightmare Man. There is no hint of him being a villain. He is a villain.

Molly being unconcious the whole episode was such an improvement.

Hopefully she isn't revived till the season ends.

Not to mention turning his own son and Nathan against eachother.

Why? I find her part of the story interesting, while I can think of other *cough*Nikki/Jessica*cough* candidates to put on ice for a while.

I saw it too but isn't the cockroach sort of like a signature for Sylar? So its either Maury or Sylar pulling an Illusion on Molly.

Cockroaches are a recurrent theme frequently with Sylar and sometimes without him. I suspect that's all Molly's dream is. I don't think Mr. Parkman can control roaches or anything.

here's a screencap of her shoes when she was jumping rope:

I like that they picked an MIA song during that montage... a very dancy tune. Strange that they picked a song called Boyz tho.

Sure looks like it's Mr. Parkman to me. Only Kaito Nakamura saw his "attacker"; only Angela Petrelli saw her "attacker". Who on the show is a major telepath who could do such things? If Mr. Parkman was "trying to save his own ass", then why did he pull that stunt on Matt and Nathan and then escape? We already know this season will be broken up into volumes; that doesn't give a lot of room to draw it out. He's the bad guy in this volume, and it was set up at the end of last season. He's the one going after the rest of the Numerati.

Is that true? Didn't Ando see the main who pushed Kaito off? Didn't he tell the cops he saw them?

That was one part that bothered me about Maury being the main bad guy.
I was almost positive Ando saw Kaito's attacker as well, glad I was not the only one.
Now I am thinking maybe Maury while evil is actually on the list and afraid someone is after him.
Which could explain him attacking Angela if he thought she was with the people who sent him the picture with the symbol on it.

I'm slowly going mad trying to figure out what's up with Nathan. He looks scarred in mirrors...like he has some new ability to disguise what he really looks like....or is the melty Nathan a personality hidden inside him?

Agreed. I'm still sticking with Kensei/Anders as this season's main villain and puppet master. Other's like Maury, Bob, Sylar, Elle, etc... still very well might be evil, but still second fiddle to Ander's character.

has anyone made a gif of Micah jumping up and down laughing while Monica is jump roping? he scares me

I think Maury is working for the main villain in exchange for his life.

That may be a good possibility that may play out later in the form of him seeking redemption from Matt and sacrificing himself to save his son from the main bad guy.

for months kristin bell talked about her character's introduction...saying that it was very cool...and "I'm a bad girl"....it was some pretty lackluster build up and a lot of hype. Annoyed already by her...and the phone call in the car leading up to her saying 'yes daddy' went on way too long.

I dunno, she did murder someone in her first appearance. That's understandably something to hype up for a person who's never played a part like that before.

maybe the scene just didn't turn out like she imagined...its a well made show but that was a weak "bad girl moment"

well she knows a lot of things about the character we don't, and I'm sure we'll come to learn why she found Elle interesting.

the whole Mr Parkman being the bad guy is too obvious.Firstly the guy who push Hiro's dad off the building wasnt a fat man...he could run and look not fat...and as for Sylar...hes either gonna die or be crippled for a long time (filming star trek) so he can be ruled out for now...The nightmare man may haunt mollys dreams but like he said he didnt want her getting into his mind which is why he made her slip into a coma.i think he tricked nathan and matt cos he doesnt want to tell them who the real killer is...cos hes that scared.but as it stands the real killer is out there and hes in some stages getting niki to do his dirty work...

itll be someone from the picture or just to really spice things up it could be the one who took the photo...and hes basically killing off the 12.

HRG's come to kick ass and chew gum.
