Chapter Three: The Sin

1. Lone Wolf and Cub meets The Last of Us meets John Wick 2. What's not to like?

2. The greatest love of all is between Gizmo and his control knob. :atp:

3. I loved how the Mandos apparently just act like animals, trying to establish their dominance, even while in front of a armorer.

4. I will say, the idea of the full beskar armor is probably better then how it looks. I still love the helmet, but there was some cheaper Robocop to his look once he was fully armored up. I kind of miss his old armor already.

5. Okay tell me if I am wrong. I am getting this vibe that the foundlings are Mandos who may have grown up outside of the warrior culture who are "coming home" after the end of Mandalore. Which I think would be really neat.

6. So considering the Mando was flashing back while thinking about his armor and the kid, someone has to have saved him from the Super Battle Droid right? I really, really, really hope it is you know who... :boba:

7. So that rescue was pretty neat. Especially that new Mando tech!!!

8. But forget about all that. Because what it was all about was the Mandos coming to their brother's aid. The jetpack flight was slightly underwhelming, but outside of that, it was pretty ****ing amazing. As soon as I saw the boxy Mando pistols, I lost my mind. :mrk:

9.The Mando clearly spared Apollo on purpose. I am curious where that leads, but I assume he will pay that one back.

10. Is the Mando ex-communicado? I assume so, but I am not sure yet. I was worried the Mandos themselves would be pissed, and that would result in the stripping of his armor. Thankfully not.

11. Yes Mando, you do need one of those... Which reminds me. The Superman shot of Favreau's Mando was hilarious.

12. I believe Favreau is the first person to appear in the SW films, animated series and live action series. That's pretty neat.

13. Okay so theory time. We have seen the AT-ST with the very particular paint job on the legs. What if that is the Mando going to a certain other Mando to help him protect Gizmo? I'd love it if it was her.

14. The director of this episode, Deborah Chow, is the showrunner for the Obi-Wan show. That is very good news.

Not quite my favorite episode so far, but that is because The Child is going to be hard as hell to beat for me. Still, this was great and I really couldn't be more excited to see where this is going. Three episodes in, and we might have our third great Star Wars show. I am very happy about that. Onto next week!!!

This show is seriously incredible. What an awesome episode. I’m working the early shift today 4:30 am and I decided to hide away for a bit and watch it on my phone haha. And I was not disappointed!

Probably my favorite episode so far, but they're all great so it's hard to say for sure. The rescue was awesome and the big fight was pretty cool too. I really like the new armor as well.

I definitely got John Wick vibes as well :D

I'd add Herbert's Dune; The whole Fremen type culture is somewhat lifted/homaged, just substitute collecting "Water for the Tribe" with armor for the tribe. ;)

Yeah I'm going to miss his more nomad look.

I think he just legit respects him and recognizes he might have done the same, if it was anything other than another "foundling" at stake. Otherwise he'd be standing there with him.

He's definitely on his own (and on the run) for a bit, that was one heck of a save, by his tribe though, who will now be hunted too, and will likely have to go deeper underground, if they survive at all.
We have trailer footage of Strom Troopers invading their lair. And these are clean Troopers, so not of Herzog's raggedy team, but likely part of Gideon's upcoming contingent, of Imperial remnants, which includes Death Troopers too!

This episode was fantastic
Even though you knew it was coming, when he shuts down his ship , and you know he's going after the Yoby, my heart swelled.
The fight getting in and out of Herzog's hideaway, was spectacular, as he breaks in his new armor. Thank goodness he doesn't need the silly periscope any more, that helmet is loaded. The "whispering-birds"? beautiful!

Loved when all the "tracking fobs" get switched back on, and all the Bounty Hunters without saying a word, are like It's on ! Then as they amass going down the "wild frontier" street, was pure western: Ford -> Leone over the top wonderful staging.
This show is fantastic.

Well, now if we don't get Gizmo in some tiny kid Mando gear, what is even the point?

Fun episode. Less on the cuteness, more on some of the most brutal violence seen in Star Wars. Toasty Stormtrooper is great.

The whole scene of him bringing in the beskar was great. A better look at this group of Mando's life and story and beliefs. Man, they make the old Death Watch look like New Mandos. And as much as I dislike the plain, chrome look, the scene of him entering the cantina with his new gear was very sexy. Hope he paints it next season.

Yeah, the Mando arrival was great. I like Favreau Mando.

Man this episode had me feeling a lot. :funny:
I knew damn well that he was gonna go back for the kid but that didn’t stop me from feeling some intense anxiety about it.
Seeing his little stroller in the trash almost brought me to tears and I’m not ashamed to admit it. :funny:
The other Mandalorian’s backing him up was cool as hell. He definitely needs his own jet pack.
I loved the look of the heavy Mando.

“This is the way”
:atp:

Awesome ep.
Mando upgraded quickly, didn't expected it will be that fast.

Jack Beauregard : You shine like the door of a ****ehouse. A blind man could spot you ten miles off.

I love the talks between The Armorer and Mando, they give hints at the their culture but not too much, just enough for it to be cool and mysterious (for me that didn't payed attention to SW rebels etc). They are so badass that their spiritual people are blacksmith weapons master.

The guy dropping the metal ball in the hand of the kid at the end: priceless.

I hate you for putting that in my brain!!!!!!!!!!!!! :argh: :argh: :argh:

I love how Favreau has played 3 different Star Wars characters already. And I believe the only one to show up in the films, animated series and now live action series.

I felt bad about Yoby having to follow the scientist. His little whine made me feel for him even more. Do you think Yoby knew what was in for him?
Don't know how much was me just projecting onto the Yoby's thoughts, but he definitely gave the Mando that look of you betrayed me?:(. Like he knew.
Yes it was heart breaking.
And insane they were able to visually convey all the emotion of Mando's change of heart through the helmet and his actions, reaching for the missing knob.
Which is kind of a point they (and Pascal in interviews) are driving home. At some point this "mask" became the "real" face of the Mando tribe.
This show is just so great!

So glad we can see a character like this and they actually make a frelling effort to have the actor create a character without ever showing his face. I get that you want to show off your star's face, and it's also hard to create a performance with all that, but Pedro Pascal did it.

So was Heavy Infantry Stormtrooper supposed to be Paz Viszla? That name was in the credits. Also, I assume was it Favreau doing the voice, but Tait Fletcher doing the suit work?

Great episode. It could easily have felt cheesy to have the badass character have a change of heart for the Mogwai but they've established his connection to children effectively with small means. We got some great action scenes that have an appropriately ruthless feel to them so it stands out from the films.

Unlike some I don't have an issue with his unpainted Beskar armor. I liked his old too but this one looks much more like something that would actually work (ignoring the standard part of it not covering up all his body). I'm sure he'll eventually paint it a bit though, maybe when he finally gets his signet.

Just came in to agree with everyone else. Amazing episode. Probably my favorite. Which all 3 have been outstanding. Bravo Lucasfilm, Jon Fav, Dave Filoni & Co for this!

I still feel maybe Yoda saves him from the Battle Droid... but if it's Boba Fett then omg!!

I find your lack of imagination disturbing.

Highly unlikely to be Boba. He would unlikely be involved in that attack.

I'm grateful for the short episode runtimes for one, I don't think I could've stressed any longer over what would happen to Baby Yoda. That was long enough.

Excellent episode and I'm glad we finally got to see the jet packs as I always liked those in the animated series.

I don't trust Baby Yoda. He's strong in the Force, and his enemies (the Mandalorian and the doctor) end up wanting to protect him as if he's manipulating their minds.

So much dope stuff happened in this episode. I love that we got to see a little bit of the Mando's culture and c'mon ''This is the way" has to become some kind of new meme. Pascaldalorian's badassery in this episode was on a whole other level IMO. From that sexy armor upgrade to him taking out Stormtroopers left and right in that facility, and then the big shootout with the bounty hunters at the end. It was all just glorious to watch and this is even not mentioning that EPIC rescue scene with the rest of the Mandos which easily gave me the biggest pop in this whole episode. Great stuff man, and him giving Gizmo Yoda the little knob at the end put the biggest damn smile on my face.
