Daredevil Charlie Cox is Matt Murdock/Daredevil

Why was this casting news merged with this thread?

It doesn't warrant a separate thread?

I think this guy will do a great job.

I watched his stint on Boardwalk Empire and always rooted for his character.

Plus, I can see him filling Matt Murdock's shoes quite nicely.

It was the Matt Murdock casting thread, and now has been retitled Charlie Cox is Matt Murdock. Starting a new thread would be completely redundant, what would be the point?

I just reinforces my disdain for the laziness at the GotG forums where after months of request there are still threads called "Lee Pace cast as an unknown villain and Benecio Del Toro Who is he playing".

Kudos to the competent thread managers in this young DD forum.

He was pretty good in BE, his character was one of my favourites on the show! It's interesting news, I would never have thought of him for DD but I'm looking forward to seeing how he does in the role!

Would not be my choice but best of luck to him. I'm just looking forward to seeing this move forward.

Awesome to finally get some news, even though I've never would have considered him for the role.
I like Stardust though and I trust in Marvel.

Cool. I liked Charlie Cox in Stardust, Glorious 39 and Boardwalk Empire. Cox was also good in A for Andromeda alongside Tom Hardy and Kelly Reilly.

Fantastic news. Cox is amazing not just in stardust but also downton abbey and marvels casting is spot on as usual.

I just love cox. Everyone knows I do

Dont know anything about the actor but jut glad DD is coming back to a screen, hope it all works out:up:

Great actor, although not who I pictured for the role. He better have red hair!

I'll trust you guys on Cox. The series has a good team behind it. I can't wait to see this thing finally. Daredevil is my favorite superhero and he's been getting the shaft ever since his movie.

this is actually a great choice the more i think about it.. this casting decision is more unexpected and exciting than anyone suggested in the Daredevil casting threads

As long as I never have to see the Dexter guy brought up again I'm cool with it.

Color me excited, never would have thought him in the role, but loved him in Stardust.

Also color me extremely happy Michael C Hall will never be suggested or get the role.

I forgot he was in Stardust!!
Ok...all my fears of him being DD are gone.

I hope we won't get the shaft anymore....now that we have Cox involved.
It all depends on how much effort they put into making Cox feel the character.

;)

Everyone who loves Cox can't wait to see him with this meaty leading man part.

Indeed... we haven't seen a lot of Cox since Stardust. But I have a feeling that after this show premieres, Cox will be huge. I can't wait to see Cox hang tough in the role.

Saw him in Stardust and Casanova. He's a good actor!
Seems like we got someone who could fit the role (IMO) and we also know about from before.

Totally unknown people or unexpected casting of a known stars are bad by definition until the point where we see the final film and are blown away by "the performace of the year" Like it was with Heth Ledger, but also Michael Keaton, Christopher Reeve, Chris Evans etc etc etc
