I don't think he changed his name. It's just an alias so he's difficult to find. The name David Banner was on the letter being sent back to Betty.

and that's a nod to the tv show. becuase his name in that show was David instead of Bruce.

another nod in the film, to Ang Lee's movie, was when Bruce fell from the sky(helicopter). which was also nodded in Iron Man to Ang Lee's movie.

another nod that seems to happen in these comicbook hero movies is the whole "i've got to go back" conversations. lol
we've seen it in Superman 2, Superman Begins, and now The Incredible Hulk.
it even happend in Empire Strikes Back.

Actually that one was more of a nod to the Ultimate books where there was this moment when Bruce Banner was doped up on some kind of antidote so he couldn't turn into the Hulk. So to force a transformation (because they needed Hulk) these S.H.I.E.L.D military guys pushed him out of a helicopter. Guy falls out Bruce Banner, creates this huge crater, and gets up as Hulk.

If anything this movie tried as much as possible NOT to reference Ang Lee's movie (even though it ended up doing just that a lot of the time).

I didn't think about this before and don't know if it has been mentioned, but as Ross is running down the list of suspected deaths or injuries Hulk has been implicated in, he does mention something about the possibilty of two Canadian hunters.....

Just got back from seeing TIH again...and you guys who think you are seeing Spider-Man or DareDevil are trying waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too hard. It was some guy Abomination threw.

I was watching incredibly closely from when Banner hit the ground to when Abom and Hulk collided and there was no comic book reference of any kind.

So, quote me on this one...forget what you think you saw, it was just a guy Abom throws.

Bummer. Oh well.

i think I remember reading somewhere that Bruce's real first name is David...

EDIT: OH, found it:

In the original comic, Banner's full name is Robert Bruce Banner (though he's called Bruce); on the TV show, Banner's name was changed to David Bruce Banner and he was called David.

I'm sure that the name David Banner in the movie was just a homage. A cool homage at that.

I totally agree. I find that Stan Lee's cameos are best when he doesn't, and I can't believe I'm saying this, speak.

I remember reading that they chose Ed Norton not only because he was an amazing actor, but he resembled Bill Bixby.

my favorite cameo of Stan's was in Iron Man, as Hugh Hefner.

btw, in TIH, i think there was a nod to Stan Lee with that name of the italian restaurant Stanley's. as in "Stan Lee's"

Stan trying to get into Reed & Sue's wedding was directly lifted from the comic wedding. The only way it could have been a better cameo was if Jack was with him.

Ah yes, I forgot about that little gem. Im lucky enough to have a friend who has a legit review disc of TIH and I have watched the movie 3 times now and thats one of the eggs I was gonna post.

So that means Betty's boyfriend was probably not Doc Samson then. Just some shrink, I don't think they even mention him by name.

Dr Samson is Betty's boyfriend.

In the opening credits it has Samson listed under Banner's known associates as:

Dr Samson, Leonard
Dr Ross/Relationship

Something like that but it definatley says Samson is in a relationship with Betty.

I wished they would have done more with Lou thought. For instance have him out with some students keeping them back and about to go in as a security gaurd to apprehend Norton , and about to go in and show his stuff right before Norton hulks out. Then when he sees the Hulk Lou takes off running

Then he goes in and they dont show it but Norton hulks out and burst out of where Lou went in. And all the students stand amazed thinking that Lou "the security guard" turned into that Hulk. Exactly. And let's not forget - in 2003, you coudnt read a negative review of Hulk without the reviewer taking a dig at the purple shorts/trousers.

It seems only fitting the TIH acknowledges that.

In X-Men, Stan Lee was at the hot dog stand at the beach (not sure if he was a customer or the hot dog guy) when Senator Kelly walked on shore. There is a wide shot of people staring at Senator Kelly, and he is in the middle of the people.

In X3, he was one of Jean Grey's neighbors. When Jean Grey showed the Professor how powerful she was (when the cars outside lifted up, etc.), Stan Lee was the guy who was watering his grass. The water flowed upwards, and Stan Lee was like "WTF?!"

Ohh....that's right I remember him being in X3 now, duh. I'm tired and can't think straight........But I NEVER knew he was in X1. I will have to watch it and pay close attention.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't in it seeing that it wasn't that good IMO.
