Or what if more Chang is part of the Darkest Timeline?

Good riddance. While I liked the dynamic the Pierce character brought in the first two seasons, he has been far too ungrateful and hateful for this show that pulled him out of oblivion and the blacklist. Let him enjoy being unable to get hired again after all his rhetoric the last few years.

Yeah, I really can't imagine any scenario down the road where a casting director/producer/whatever looks at a script and goes "You know what this needs? Chevy Chase." His moderate talent isn't enough to offset his massive ego and disrespectful attitude.

Enjoy the direct-to-DVD "comedy" world, Chevy. If they'll have you.

I'll miss Pierce but I won't at all miss Chevy and I think the show dynamic will do fine without him.

i dont think we will even get season 5.

to bad that we lost Harmon for the last S4.

I never found Chevy Chase funny in Community. Not even once.

I didn't even know Chevy Chase was still acting until I started watching community. I thought he died or retired.

dammit I hope they dont scrap that episode with Giancarlo Esposito returning as Pierce's brother.

Anybody who says that Chevy wasn't funny on the show is lost. He was funny, he's a funny guy. The fact that he was a massive d-bag skews your vision. He was disruptive to the rest of the cast and had to go, sure.....but to say he wasn't even funny on the show.....? You must have not been paying attention.

It's a moot point anyway, the show is likely done after this season. The 2 episodes that he's not in are probable mixed into the season. It will probably seem like he's there to the end. They could have filmed the season finale already for all we know just to hasten his exit.

I enjoyed Chevy on the show and am a huge fan of the guy. But yeah...they should have written out Pierce the very first episode of the new season.

They have filmed the season finale. They filmed it two episodes ahead of time.

The writing was on the wall when it comes to Chevy leaving the show, it'd be only for two episodes anyway but still, he and the writers wouldn't have to spend so much energy trying to please each other and the show would be more or less the same without him.

Pierce was the only character on the show I didn't like and I never thought he was very funny, so he won't be missed.

Meh, no huge loss. Kinda disappointing that they didn't get all 13 episodes with Pierce but at least he'll be in the finale, which I'm guessing will be the series finale.

I'm hoping they'll give Community a fifth season even if only for the fact they won't have much else. The Office and 30 Rock are ending. Animal Practice is cancelled. Guys with Kids and Up All Night are going to get cancelled. Whitney probably will too. That leaves them with, what, Go On, The New Normal, and Parks & Rec?

I think Community could do well paired with Go On.

Probably, but I don't think NBC will pass on the one-two punch of Matthew Perry and Michael J. Fox. I could see Community coming back, but I don't think it'll be with Go On.

I agree about Pierce. I think the show can still be strong without him, but whether it gets the chance to be is anyone's question. If it was any other channel, I say this show is over, but its NBC, the same show that let low rated Chuck run its course and like Chuck, the situation is similar in that NBc has no viable long term replacements for sitcoms. In fact, I think it's worse than the situation Chuck was in.
