Community - Part 3

Ill be perfectly honest, I wouldn't be excited for a 5th season.

I love this show. But, it's run it's course.

You act like that's a bad thing. This show shouldn't continue with a reduced budget and even less talented writers. They lost Megan Ganz to Modern Family and with a bunch of new shows about to be picked up by the networks, what writer would want do another 13 episodes of Community when they could be on the next big thing or just even a moderate hit that gives them job security?

NBC can't air the show anymore, the live ratings (no matter how flawed that system is) are terrible and the quality had dropped tremendously since the exodus of writers/producers and firing of Harmon.

It is a bad thing to me. I like the show and I'll miss it.

Last episode was terrible, IMO.

Yeah. I'll never understand why people want a show to end because they don't enjoy it. If I don't enjoy a show, I don't watch it. After I stop watching a show it bothers me exactly zero times.

runawayboulder, that's great that you still like it and will miss it. I loved Community and miss what it once was.

Why do people stay in abusive relationships?

Community was my favourite comedy since 2009, up until this season. I've been watching, hoping that an episode will recapture the magic the show used to have. There have been a couple this season and some decent segments but mainly the season has been void of comedy. I will watch the remaining two episodes of the season, but if it returns I won't be tuning in. I'm amazed it has gone this far as each season it has been on the bubble and each season the ratings get smaller.

I gave up watching The Office, another former favourite comedy of mine. I tried again because Greg Daniels returned as showrunner. It mainly has been disappointing. I gave up on How I Met Your Mother because it was no longer funny to me. I gave up on 24, The X-Files, a lot of my favourite shows go on too long and you stay with them because habits are hard to break, you hope that they'll turn things around like a losing sports team or you just want to see how everything unfolds if you know the end is near. Eventually you have enough and don't sit down to watch and yes it is so easy, it doesn't bother you at all to miss that show that you don't enjoy. I still get some enjoyment out of Community but I just don't want to see it become a shell of its former self if it continues on.

Community S4 isn't frustrating me like HIMYM, The Office or 24 did. They still had most of the writing talent that provided great seasons that were now producing garbage. Community lost great writers, so I knew going in that it probably wouldn't be that good. I've been disappointed, not frustrated and eventually it may spill over to frustration. I'm going to try to avoid that and just let the show go in two weeks when another "series finale" that may or not be a series finale airs.

At this point it doesn't matter to me if it's renewed or not. Either way I won't be watching. Probably just erase this season from memory and pretend it ended at 3.

Everything about the episode was great....Dean acting as Jeff and Annie's reaction to that.....Abed and Troy's "impression" of each other.

I liked the ''outakes'' scene at the end, wish they could do an entire episode on that.

info on next episode :woot:
COMMUNITY Season 4 Episode 12 Heroic Origins Photos : ABED WORKS AT PROVING HIS THEORY THAT THE STUDY GROUP MEMBERS HAVE ALL CROSSED PATHS IN THE PAST AND WERE DESTINED TO MEET AT GREENDALE – Abed (Danny Pudi), becomes convinced that the study group was destined to meet at Greendale and pieces together everyone’s past – revealing that their lives have been intertwined for years. Meanwhile, Chang (Ken Jeong) plots to destroy Greendale once and for all. Joel McHale, Chevy Chase, Gillian Jacobs, Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Donald Glover and Jim Rash also star.

no freaking way , could we finally be getting a ''Lost'' themed episode :wow::woot:

Having Troy fake a leg injury in the flashback instead of his shoulder like he mentioned in season 1 bugged me so much.

Other than that I liked it. Especially the origin of Magnitudes POP POP.

It was great tonight. I've liked the last few episodes actually. But tonight was awesome. Midichlorians? Midichlorians??!!

I liked the Watchmen reference at the end (giant spider = giant squid) to cap off the comic book shots.

Ugh, they are bringing back the evil clones again next week.

I feel like "Heroic Origins" is the real finale and next week's return of the Darkest Timeline will just be an extra dose of fun for the fans.

I was actually kind of disappointed by the last episode, considering I had been looking forward to a flashback episode for a long time. It was one of the only sitcom tropes that the show had not parodied, but the end result left me cold. Also, wasn't it established that Annie was overweight in high school?

yeah the flashback episode was not good enough. i think Troy said that Annie was a little fat girl with an addiction.
