I love the Hippo ideas, the Gordon idea, and the one Surgemyster put up. I think it would be definitely cool though if it remained as a sort of inside joke, so that others get that it's to do with TDK, but whatever it says/shows doesn't actually make sense to them. I guess it could have like a quote that's often said here, not that I can actually think of anything right now though.

[Why So Serious?]

To clear a few things up. The viral shirts were not my idea. I just voiced my strong opposition to the other idea. Having said that, consider this:

Those are pictures of a Dark Knight crew shirt that was recently sold on ebay (awesome shirt by the way, I'm more than a little upset that I missed my chance to bid on it

Now, I'm not saying that we should use the exact image. Because we shouldn't. But I do think it'd be pretty rad to have someone artistically inclined do a similar image. The front would have all five "goons" from the prologue standing next to one another, with Joker standing front and center. On the back, Change the words to something like "Dark Knight Virals 2007-2008" maybe even with a list of all of the viral websites below, similar to what you see with city listings on tour shirts.

Or:

Talk to 42e about either allowing us to use one of the images from the www.whysoserious.com site. We could take all of the images people suggest, put it to a vote, and use the winning image for the front. And do a similar theme for the lettering on the back of the shirt. Personally, I love the idea to use this image:

Talk to 42e about having one of their designers toss together something specifically for this purpose. If we could manage to make that happen, it'd be absolutely fantastic.

Just a few things to consider. Either way, if we all put our heads together, I'm sure we can come up with something spectacular that all of the members here would absolutely love to have.

What if we had a sort of listing of what we've been throughout the virals, you know like:
I Am:
1. The Joker's Goon.
2. A Dent Supporter.
3. Gordon's Snitch.
4. A Batman Supporter.

Meh.. maybe not. Though if say we DID do something like, "The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules" we could just do the randomly taken letters instead of the image with the paper and everything, and then on the back have The Dark Knight 2007-2008 also done in the randomly taken letters. I think that'd look cool if we can be sure 42 doesn't flip or anything.

I like the direction your going...staying away from anything copyrighted is probably a good idea, although I like the notion of including the SHH logo. Using some inside-type sayings would be cool, and featuring some art from some of the Hype's better artists is a great idea.

Yeah, I was hoping you'd pick up the hint I was tossing down there. I have an artistic "inclination." But the work I do is strictly old school. No photoshop skills whatsoever. Unfortunately, that also makes it harder for me to create a design specifically for t-shirts.

T-shirts are different from fanfilms, I don't think anyone will care if you use "copyrighted material". Maybe add a dollar onto every shirt and give it to charity.

I think at this point, it's best to just avoid that debate altogether. It's caused enough disdain among the ranks as-is. It's better to just play it on the safe side and come up with something original. Or, like I suggested, make sure we get the green light from the powers that be.

If you followed that route you could just simply put "Joker Goon"

I like the ideas that it needs to be something only people who followed the virals will get...like the Hippo idea or you could even make up a shirt that says something like "Maroni's Imports" but not use any of the images from the website....well, just a thought anyway..

You mean like, single out specific fans and put their faces on shirts for everyone? I dunno what other people would think of this. But I personally wouldn't wear a shirt with a picture of a total stranger on it.
