Heres why I'm confident they will be an improvement over all those other superhero shows

- Better cast
- 13 episodes rather than 22
- Larger budget (200m budget for all 4 shows)
- Filming on location in New York
- Netflix model (filmed like a movie and released all at once)
- No network restrictions

It will be a much more cinematic experience, thats for sure.

Is this legit confirmed?

I know that I sound like a wet blanket, but while all these give the show lots of promise and credibility, I'm more worried about the writing. The stuff I heard about the clips shown at comic-con sounded great, however, that's just the pilot, it's too soon to tell. There's a plausibility that the writing might get worse as the show progresses, and I don't want that.

I'm going with the phrase, "Hope for the best, expect the worse."

The choices they've made so far have yet to give me any reason for doubt. My apprehension simply comes from the history of live action superhero shows inspiring little confidence.

This is more like a movie dissected into a show though.

Jeph Loeb's Involvement concerns me a little bit.

Jeph Loeb is a hack. Horrible writer.
I have a feeling his creative input on AoS is minimal to non-existent, hopefully that will remain the same with Daredevil and Agent Carter.

Seems like a nice guy, though. What is he particularly known for writing, I don't know if I'm aware of anything he's written.

The only books I can remember off the top of my head written by him that I've read were in the Ultimate line, like Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum.
I've read a lot of comics in my day, and Ultimates 3 takes the cake as the worst have ever read, and that says something. Absolutely terrible from cover to cover.

Damn I did not know this. I am seriously more excited about Daredevil and Iron Fist than any other comic related film or show. I have said this 1000 times but I still can't believe this is happening. It's a dream for sure. I feel like Cartman in Southpark. I just want to freeze myself and reawaken on the day of its release.

In that they said 4 series over 3 years. I take it that they didn't count Defenders as a full/separate series?

Also 3 years does sound a bit long. Charlie Cox will have to sit around for 2 years (or so) between filming Daredevil and Defenders? I know he may appear in the other series but will be few and far between, I'm guessing.

Agreed. I think this is the perfect medium for Daredevil, I think they're really going to bring their A-game in terms of writing, effects, set design, etc.
Marvel and netflix have both been batting a thousand so to see them pairing up is a match made in heaven.

Probably best known for Teen Wolf (film), The Long Halloween (Batman), Dark Victory (Batman) Spider-Man Blue, Daredevil Yellow, some of the Ultimate stuff and his run on Batman, etc

The Long Halloween is one of the best Batman stories ever written. It just seems like the quality of his work has taken a nosedive in recent years.

Only read his recent stuff and I could not have been more turned off.

He's used to be good (Smallville) but he ruined Heroes for me.

Didn't really watch Heroes or Smallville, so I dunno.

But he's not the showrunner or main writer on these shows either. Also he wrote Daredevil: Yellow which was a great Daredevil story.

The Long Halloween and Dark Victory are nothing short of excellent, some of the finest batman stories ever written. Hulk:Gray and Daredevil:Yellow are both great in their own right.

Long Halloween and Daredevil Yellow are certainly well-received stories.

Regarding Heroes, Loeb was involved in season 1, which was good. He was involved in season 2, which was bad but might be blamed on the writer's strike. Was he involved in season 3? The show as a whole lost its creative spark but it's possible Loeb's involvement was particularly blameworthy.

Looking at the episode list, it appears he was involved in Villains. The next storyline (Fugitives) is indeed better, but it certainly isn't anywhere near as good as the first season. I'm skeptical that there is any one person to blame for what happened to Heroes.

You get the same time frame (if not longer) with feature film sequels.

He used to be pretty good but after his son died the quality of his writing plummeted. Some of it (Ultimates 3) was so bad I can't understand how it even made it to print (Marvel's editors asleep at the wheel, most likely)
