Daredevil Daredevil General Discussion Thread - Part 8

I don't know. Maybe do the "fake death" or "witness protection" thing that Foggy underwent in the comics?

Has it been confirmed how many episodes this season will be? Even though 10 episodes worked for Iron Fist, Daredevil is pretty much the only Netflix show I don't mind being 13 episodes per season.

I gotta figure this season will be a huge HIT for whatever metrics Netflix uses

Two new behind the scenes photos. One of Charlie Cox in the mask.

And the other is a BTS of Charlie Cox and Deborah Ann Woll in between takes of that scene with the earlier picture of Matt and Karen with Matt in the mask. As you can see, it's an actual mask that Charlie Cox is wearing, but it's made to look like it was cut from a nun's habit.

Several sites made official set visits back around January, and have finally been allowed to post their articles about what they saw:

  • While we do start right where The Defenders ended, there's then a massive time jump of several months.
  • We finally get to see Karen's past. Reportedly, it includes some scenes of domestic violence (something Karen kinda hinted at when she talked with Frank in the hospital in 2x06).
  • Foggy's family is finally appearing! We'll finally get some payoff to the butcher story! There's an intricately built set for Nelson's Meats.
  • Karen and Fisk will get to have a one-on-one scene, something that Deborah Ann Woll described as tense given that each killed the other's friend (Karen killed Wesley, and Fisk killed Ben).
  • Fisk agrees to turn informant for the FBI in exchange for Vanessa's protection after he learns that she's been charged as an accessory to his crimes. Fisk is put under 24 hour surveillance in a penthouse with an FBI surveillance room attached to it. What the FBI doesn't know is that Fisk secretly owns the hotel. Ray Nadeem (Jay Ali) is Fisk's FBI handler.
  • Matt built this new mask from fabric in the convent. He also lives in a crypt for a good part of the season
  • The articles liken season 3 to a mix of season 1 with The Sopranos, and Deborah Ann Woll described it as a Deep POV story that basically revolves around six main characters: Matt, Karen, Foggy, Fisk, Nadeem, and I'm guessing Bullseye.
  • This is a very self-contained story. There are ZERO cameos or crossover appearances from any of the other solo shows.
  • While "Born Again" and "Guardian Devil" are certainly going to be influential to the themes, this is 100% an original story.

Lesley Ann Warren joins the cast of Season 3.

Lesley Ann Warren (“Clue,” “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”) is joining “Marvel’s Daredevil” for the show’s upcoming third season, debuting October 19 on Netflix.

Warren will play Mrs. Falb, described as a woman of high morals and steely resolve. A true survivor, Mrs. Falb is uncompromising in her beliefs, even if it means making powerful enemies.

Oh, man. I can't wait for this. Just read through the article on CBM about what's going to happen this season and it all sounds fantastic. I imagine we'll get a full trailer soon where they reveal Bullseye and maybe an upgraded suit for Matt once he takes up his traditional look again.

I still believe Fisk is the best MCU villain, hands down. So excited he’s back for this season.

What are the realistic chances though he dons the suit again; new and improved or the original red suit?

Probably pretty high. They have a specific character who suits him up. He will probably run into him at some point.

The one thing I'm most worried about is it taking a while for the gang to get back together. Charlie Cox mentioned Karen, Matt and Foggy spend a lot of the season estranged. That could get old very fast. I just want the gang back together and I want to see them all happy and carefree. All conflict with no happiness is, for me, pretty tedious. It'd be much more rewarding to see, for instance, Matt and Karen teaming up take down Fisk.

Oleson's saying all the right things of late. Can't wait for this season!

Will they EVER give DD Radar, like he should possess, instead of continuing the farce of Sonar??

It would not surprise me if that's where they are leading to towards the end of the season.

I'm so excited about this! I have the feeling it's gonna be the best season of all from any of the Marvel series!

If it's anything close to the quality of S1 then I will be more than happy.
