Daredevil Daredevil General Discussion Thread - Part 8

I just finished season 3. If that was the last episode of Daredevil, and considering how stupid things have gotten with Netflix I guess it might be, it was rather magnificent. The season was by far the best of any of those shows so far. Brilliantly put together. Outside of episode 11 feeling a bit like they were setting up things a bit too much, it was rather perfect imo. The collection of unique fight scenes were so great this season.

Also for those that say these shows shouldn't be 13 episodes, I feel like every season of Daredevil proves that theory completely and totally wrong.

I would say Season 3 of Daredevil was better paced than some of the other 13 episode seasons.

I only watched 8 episodes so far in Daredevil season 3 but it is incredible and well put together. The Kingpin is such a great villain and he's in my top 5 best villains in the MCU. Daredevil is the best superhero show atm and it would be a shame if it gets cancelled.... Hopefully it gets at least two more seasons.

Ive just finished episode 6 and i cant take this show anymore. My nerves are conpletely wrecked. People, this is Dark Knight quality stuff here. I am in utter amazement of what theyve achieved here.

Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is probably second only to Cap for my favorite live-action superhero. They’ve nailed it. Like kguillo said, I’m in awe of this show. This was worth the wait. I’m only on episode 5 or 6 but it all just keeps getting better and better.

Just finished. Pretty awesome, I thought. Really left me wanting more like a true on going comic.

Vincent d'Onofrio seems intent on trumping Thanos as the best Marvel villain. Man, the stuff theyre doing with him this season.

I'm about to start episode 5 of the third season and it has been great so far. No Elektra/The Hand bulls*** that I didn't like in the previous season, but instead there's a lot more Fisk, the characters feel a bit more three-dimensional, and Daredevil is in full vigilante mode, specially showcasing his heightened senses -something it has been lacking I think in the previous seasons-.
I only saw the first seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage but Daredevil is the one that really works. I enjoy watching him, the character, a lot more than any other and all the supporting characters are equally interesting. Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin are the only Netflix characters that are on the same league as the heroes and villains on the Cinematic Universe. If someone deserves the big jump are those two.

This continues to be the crown jewel of the MCU TV offerings for me. Cox, D'onofrio and Bethel were amazing, which isn't to say others actors didn't bring it as well, but holy hell, the layering of performance among those three was crazy. I thought the pacing was handled better. Nothing really lagged to me, even though some of Karen's backstory lost me for a bit.

I've actually started re-watching S1 again. May make an entire runthrough.

The flack Elektra gets on here is sad. Fisk is good but he gets a lot of praise when I find Vincent sometimes falls flat with his acting and the voice he puts on.

It was a good season but I did miss some of the electricity that Punisher and Elektra brought to season 2.

I think Cox deserves to be put up for an emmy nomination. It cannot be understated how compelling and layered his performance is. And not only that, the way he plays a blind man is so convincing. If it didnt know any better I would think Charlie Cox was actually blind. He's mastered Matt Murdock's mannerisms down to a T and the guy deserves some serious accolades for it.

Everyone was stellar

Bethel is a great talent, I think he would've made a fine Captain America had he received the chance. And the easter eggs, oh man the easter eggs.

I just hope this isn't the last we've seen of Marvel Netflix. It all hasn't been great but I adore Daredevil and The Punisher's shows. They've given me hours of enjoyable content.

I stopped midway through Punisher because it was just too slow for me. But i keep hearing you guys praise it to the same level of Daredevil that im thinking i might pick it back up after i finish season 3.

it picks up toward the end, I'm a big Frank guy so I'm probably biased.

I've always been against the 13 episode arcs for the netflix shows. just about every season I've hit the proverbial "wall" regardless of quality, but it didn't happen for Season 3. Thats how good this was. They made the most of every episode.

I read a lot people on the same page regarding this season. What is it that makes it so special? Did they change the showrunner again? Do they have different writers or something? The season feels very focused on almost every level.

Daredevil I believe has had a new show runner every season.

I remember right before this aired, I read on here that they had replaced the main fighr coordinator/choreogrpaher and so people were worried that the fight scenes would not be as on point this season.

Well....they sure showed us.

Who’s the new coordinator?

Seen 7 episodes so far and its great stuff. Loving the Kingpin/Bullseye/DD dynamic, I know a tv show gets more time to develop these things but the way Kingpin is in the "head" of both is so well done, pulling strings on both knowing they are venerable and can be bent to his will without even leaving a single room is masterful bad guy work it has to be said.

Loving how all the side characters are all given their own archs that make sense and interweave with the main story, Foggy in particular who is a character I generally dont care for is someone I genuinely care about his fate of now. The amazing fight scenes are just that but this show has more than that going for it.

Hope it keeps it up to the end but I am pretty confident the quality will remain to the end.

I finished Season 3 and it was amazing. It actually exceeded my expectations and those were pretty damn high. Best season of the best Marvel show. This series is my favorite comic book adaptation after The Dark Knight Trilogy. I hope it gets renewed for Season 4.

I think it's sort of expected. I don't want to say the word "sexist" lightly but I think everyone (including women), especially 20 and older, are conditioned from birth to easily see men's achievements and ignore women's.

Pfff what? Elektra is just a boring character, it has nothing to do with sexism. And in general I never really liked romantic relationships in fiction.
