Daredevil Daredevil General Discussion Thread - Part 8

Because Disney doesn't care about discs. Last Netflix season released on Blu-ray in US was Luke Cage season 1. Iron Fist was released in a few countries but not here. But yeah, they ain't coming

Ugh. Thats such easy money right there though man. Daredevil especially i think would sell really well on blu ray.

With streaming bigger than ever and physical media declining, we'd be lucky if we got the Disney+ Marvel shows on disc at this point, much less the remaining Netflix shows that have yet to see a disc release. I assume the first two seasons of DD sold well enough on disc, but that was 4-5 years ago when more people were still buying DVDs and Blu-rays. Maybe they canned the rest of the Marvel shows on disc because they weren't selling that well as a whole including Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Realistically, most people wouldn't buy a season of a show for $30+ when they can just subscribe for $9-$14 (depending on the plan) to have access to that show plus so much more.

I suspect Netflix also doesn't like releasing these on physical media because you could theoretically unsubscribe after you get it.
If a show is popular enough, they'll put it out on disc. They did a great job with the Stranger Things releases in the VHS packaging even though they haven't released season 3 on disc yet but I assume they're waiting until season 4 premieres.

Disney as a whole doesn't prioritize discs. The other seasons were put out by Buena Vista, which is a Disney company. So this is a Disney issue. I highly doubt the D+ series get disc releases at all, and eventually likely not the films either. I expect Disney to stop physical media as a whole within 5 years

What do you guys think Disney will do with Daredevil now that they have the rights back?

People think Cox is coming back in NWH but i highly highly doubt it. I say we’ll get news in the next 2 years about a DD reboot, new actor and everything. I predict him and Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight will crossover.

I just started re watching this series today. It's crazy how much better it is than the current Disney Plus series. I feel that the thirteen episode first season of Daredevil flows better than any of the Disney Plus first seasons.

I can see blu rays for Mcu/Disney being like vinyls. Not every movie (in the future) is going to get a blu ray release, but they would be out therefor the super fans, collectors for a limited time and they are probably going to be eXpensive.

I ran in here so fast thinking there was some news.

I was doing a rewatch last weekend. Just like fine wine.

Agreed as far as one of the best superhero shows as well as just a great drama show. I already started a rewatch of all the Netflix/Marvel shows because it’s been a minute. I really love them even if some are flawed.

L.O.V.E.D. this show. I heard it was good, but I didn’t think it would be that good.

I was wrong. So very wrong.

I could write an entire threads worth of things about this show, but that would be obnoxious, so I’ll keep it to this for now.

This show was so good that it got me into Daredevil even more than I already was. Easily the second best Marvel hero.

Also, my favorite suit from this show is easily the Season 3 Black Suit. Looks so badass, even more so than the classic red devil. Probably gonna be my next cosplay project, too.

I binged “Volume III” of Daredevil last fall… Bendis/Maleev was fun and very interesting, but that Brubaker/Lark run was legendary.

If you love the show, jump into those omnibuses.

Every time I've opened up Netflix since NWH came out, I see Daredevil on the trending list. I'm going to assume the Hawkeye finale helped too.

So i finished my re-watch of DD and it's still phenomenal.

There is something about S3, though.. It's perfection from start to finish.

Matt's identity chrisis, Fisk coming back to NY, Poindexter/ Bullseye and his turn to chaos, every single fight scene (Matt's prison escape, office fight with Bullseye, church fight, highway shootout and final fight with Fisk), Matt's turn to his OG look, the tension throughout too.

All of these aspects round the season to a perfect 10/10.

Yeah, I saw the entire show only once but season 3 was easily the best one, I clearly remember bingewatching the entire thing in like two nights.

Definitely the best series Marvel has made

So who's ultimate decision was it to cancel all the Netflix Marvel shows?

The article makes it sound like Netflix decided to axe all the Marvel shows on their own, which I highly doubt...

Yeah this article makes it sound like it was Netflix's decision but D'Onofrio infers that it was more of a Marvel decision because they were on the verge of launching Disney+.

Kingpin Actor Vincent D'Onofrio Confirms Why Netflix Cancelled Marvel's Daredevil

Either way I think it was a mutual decision. I'm sure Netflix liked having the Marvel shows, DD in particular, but at the end of the day they're big enough on their own that they don't need them, even though the past seasons are still on the platform and I don't think they'll be leaving anytime soon.

Yeah I don’t think those Marvel shows are leaving Netflix because they are Netflix original’s. They co-produced and paid for them so I think they’ll be on Netflix forever. I’d be surprised if they would be taken off of the service.

I’m pretty sure Marvel is just gonna treat the Netflix-Verse as an alternate universe now.
