It's so got a long wait. The article mentioned things coming together after 2014s first class sequel. So most likely 2015
-- my suggestion is for Disney to just be assertive and pay off Fox for the DD rights..
While I'd love this too...Disney would probably dislike it because it sets a bad precedent. If this were the last loaned franchise out there then they would but they can't risk it now with Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Ghost Rider still on the line.
I hope this production falls apart, Fantastic Four too, and the rights revert back.
not to mention that Iger (president of Disney) recently said they have no plans to buy back any of the rights from other studios.

Is Daredevil even worth making without the Kingpin? (Avi Arad said SONY loaned him to FOX for 1st film.) I doubt SONY would loan him out again.
I am not surprised by this news. However people need to realize the following
A:Marvel/Disney will not do a r rated version and B:It could be years after rights
reverted for this to get made.Marvel studios only cares about Avengers related characters.
if DD goes to Marvel it will be a while before you see him again...ask Punisher and Blade
Well, Disney did pay Paramount off for the Avengers and its associative characters to get them back, although it is mostly for distribution rights since Marvel Studios and not Paramount was the one that was responsible for the movies in MCU. But Fox not only gets to distribute but also calls the shots on their Marvel movies, so it is alot trickier to pull off, not to mention that Iger (president of Disney) recently said they have no plans to buy back any of the rights from other studios.
As long as DD goes back to marvel, i don't care if it'd be 20 years before the next dd movie lol. Just knowing he's where he belongs (with marvel) is worth the wait.
What are talking about? Kingpin is under the Daredevil franchise and thus was owned by Fox. Sony never had the rights to the Kingpin.
Dark Knight is PG-13 and that worked out well. Daredevil is not R rated materials in the comics, why would the movies be rated R? I'm a bit worried that Marvel Studios would get the tone right for DD, I thought the Captain America movie didn't have the right tone, it just didn't seem serious enough.
Does Sony have the rights to Kingpin? That was a great Spider-Man villain until Frank Miller took him for his run on Daredevil and he became known more as a Daredevil villain, appearing in that movie.
Arad: Believe it or not, Kingpin was on loan to Daredevil, so again, anything that is part of the Spider-Man Universe or introduced in the Spider-Man Universe--without getting too legal beagle here--is an opportunity, and if we have a story that Kingpin is important, I'm sure we can handle that.
