^ I think the JL should be Affleck's baby, with the Superman/Batman solo movies as Affleck's little siblings :funny:

Good on Ben for bringing in Chris to patch up the script. It's been said that Affleck has been very involved with the script.

If that was true wouldn't it be his name on these new articles?
I've personally always found affleck's co-writers underrated.

I just hope Batfleck brings his team over to the next bat trilogy.
-and cavil cameos.

I just hope we still get some Superman solos and they have great talent working on those too.

You know...I thought about that when people were suggesting him as co-writer, but I don't think he would want to be that attached as of yet. People are doubting him like crazy for Batman, so if he were to start co-writing the screenplay of what we still hope is actually a sequel to Superman, then there would likely be more outrage. This was a smart move on his part.

With a new writer to polish up the script, I hope they don't turn this into a Batman movie with little Superman sprinkled in. I just want to see Superman represented the right way. I also hope Zack Snyder has final say since he's directing the MOS sequel. Also, Henry Cavill better have first billing in the sequel.

Why does the addition of this writer make people think Superman is going to be short changed?

I personally wouldn't mind if it was more of a Batman movie or primarily a Wonder Woman movie (which it won't be). I don't care as long as it's good.

That remains to be seen. It frankly depends upon the contracts they have signed. If Cavill had negotiated a top billing in all his films, then he would get billing over Affleck too.

Noooo!

I want more Superman. Greedy, greedy Batfans. We need more supes. And now that there's another writer, I hope to see some meaty dialogue for Supes.

It doesn't make me think that. To me it means the dialogue between bat and Supes will be even better. But I do hope they aren't squeezing Supes out.

The sad reality is that Bats ends up dominating over any shared universe project he's involved in. His popularity is both a blessing and a curse.

Good examples are the Injustice game where half the characters were Bat-Family or Rogues gallery.

Also the Crisis on Two Earth movie, where he didn't even want to go to Earth 2 and was hardly in the first half, but then ends up saving the day in the end.

There's always been a fear that Batman would overshadow the movie and now Affleck's buddy from Argo is helping to write it...

Meh...I probably should be more worried, but I'm not at this point. It could turn out this way though...anything is possible.

This is sadly true. But I think one of the main reasons he dominates is because writers let him. They think he's the most popular and therefore deserves the most screen time and development. So he gets this and becomes even more popular. But if they gave the same care to Superman, he could shine too. Writers just need to give him a chance and quit relying on the Bat. Of course the character that's featured the most and gets the quality story-lines is gonna dominate.

I don't want batman short-changed or anything, but I don't want this to be a cleverly disguised bat movie. If they aren't going to use Superman in this, it would have been better to just make another bat movie.

IMO, Bats is easier to write for some. He's human. His motivations are more easily understood. He's just easier, whereas Superman requires some effort and time and concentration.

Whatever happens it will be interesting, but I'm already steeled against Superman being short changed. If it happens then I won't be surprised.

I think writers forget Superman has a human mind. He thinks like us. The difference is that is selfless. He does what he does for other people, not to satisfy his own need for revenge. I think writers have trouble with that aspect and get intimidated. But if they just try and can really capture Superman, it can be just as awesome as anything batman has done. It's like no one can believe someone like Superman could exist, but he could if people embraced what he is about:

I mean look at this! This is ****ing moving. I will never believe people wouldn't be into this kind of character. Superman has a power that has nothing to do with being an alien. He can be that guy you never though could exist and leave a lump in your throat. Reminds me of this quote:

"Somewhere in our darkest night, we made up the story of a man who will never let us down…" - Grant Morrison.

I'll be curious to see the direction the take for Superman. I don't see him as aspiring...yet. He'll get there, but I think the direction they take will be a bit different. I'm here for the ride though...lol

I dunno, I could see a scene like that ^^^ in the beginning of the film somewhere.

Why not.

Even as a batfan I do have to chuckle at how there's a prevailing agreement Batman is a "relatable" character. I'm either incredibly boring, or people are vastly overestimating how much of Bruce's life they can actually empathize with. He is one messed up head with an even messier life. It's remarkable how much he perseveres in the face of constant misery.

In terms of day to day living, general worldview, and personal outlook on life, I would like to think Supes is an infinitely more human, and by extension, a more relatable character.

because batman is more popular... n people like him more.

They could show him getting there. Showing how he goes from being a quiet and scared boy who feared being "found out" because he was alien to the protector of Earth and all its people is a good story and needs to be told. We saw him at his lowest in MOS, now lets see him rise.

I'm actually thinking we are going to get a different sort of inspiration for Supes. It's not going to resemble anything we have seen before IMO. lol...some probably won't like it either.

You could make the same complaint with Iron Man in the MCU.

We already had two Iron Man movies in the previous 5 years before Avengers (like two Batman movies in the previous 5 years before Batman/Superman), and The Avengers still focuses on Iron Man more than Thor & Cap, Hawkeye & Black Widow (who haven't had any movies), and Hulk (who hasn't had a movie since 2008).

I'm down for different. There are many ways to go. I just want Superman.
