Hmm why does everyone blame goyer for the "bad" parts of tdkt but praise Nolan for the best?

Because Nolan's fanboys see him as a genius who can do no wrong and they have to square that circle somehow.

Or it's because he didn't actually write the scripts for TDK or TDKR.

Nolan is a genius, and he has done no wrong.

Memento
Insomnia (supposedly, I have not yet watched that one, the DVD is next to my TV)
Batman Begins
The Prestige
The Dark Knight
Inception
The Dark Knight Rises

There's no "squaring a circle". I've seen six Nolan movies, and each of them is excellent. The three Batman movies are the three best comic book movies of the past 15 years in my opinion and several other people's. Best character arcs, best action sequences, the best villains, best soundtracks, only oscar nominations, RT scores of 85%, 94%, and 88%. If you look at the most respected comic book movies, Nolan is the only director to have had genuine success making other kinds of movies.

Nolan's batting 1.000. Is Goyer batting 1.000? No. Goyer's record is tarnished by several misfires.

But hey, if you don't like the intensity of Nolan's films, you should go watch the idiotic Thor 2. It's playing in theatres now, it's a different style, they have a crazy scientist character streaking outside Stonehenge for comic relief, oh my that is so much more fun :whatever: .

Either that, or you can think about why Goyer is assigned blame for some of the problems. It could be that he wrote the dialogue for Batman Begins, which is considered the weakest one. It could be that he is the one who fought for the inclusion of Talia Al Ghul, where TDKR would have been a little better without Talia according to many. It could be that he was least involved with TDK, which is considered the best one. Think about it.

Let's not get crazy, now.

Out of the movies I've seen, the best action sequence was of the Joker chasing Harvey Dent in the tunnel, followed by the motorcycle chase. The scene where Bane beats him up in TDKR is also brilliant.

Other good scenes: The Smallville fight in MoS, the Immortals in 300, any part of Sin City.

I can't think of a single great action sequence from the MCU films off the top of my head.

Those were both great...but the best? I don't think so.

I thought Thor and company vs. the Frost Giants was pretty neat.

Yeah that frost giant fight was pretty cool. It's not as cool as the stuff in TDK, Sin City, MoS, or 300, but it was pretty cool.

I'm gonna have to disagree about Nolan being perfect. He can't do fight scenes. I think we can all agree on that.

That was the best fight scene in the entire movie IMO. They never topped it.

There was the dumb Mexican standoff against the destroyer.

Hmm forgot how unpleased I was this that film..i honestly thought it was a comedy...luckily tdw was better. But still a little too much comedy for a film about Thor.

I'd have to give it to MOS. The DK films are up there. I didn't want to imply the action in them was lackluster or anything, I just didn't think it was actually the best. I was pretty disappointed with the Bane/Batman stuff, though. It could've been a lot better.

Don't like this, but for reasons I'm surprised no one has brought up.

This is a reboot Batman, a new version of the character. Goyer wrote TDK Trilogy and he's writing now a new version? They need new blood.

I love the TDK trilogy, but I don't think any fight scene in the three films can top what the Avengers had. Cmon, Iron Man vs Thor, Thor vs Hulk, the entire battle of New York??

My favorite action scene in the TDK trilogy was definitely the Prewitt building scene. That was some true BATMAN action right there. Hopefully Snyder can top that.

Iron Man vs Thor was too dumb for me to take seriously.

Battle of New York was anti-climatic because the Chittauri were weak... they were so weak that even Hawkeye was useful.

Thor vs Hulk was ok. A good, fun fight scene and well-motivated, but not the best.

Agreed.
It becoming clear that marvel ain't good at bad guys. Minus Loki but I think that's hiddleson.
All iron man's caps Thor and of course the hulk's have been absolute piss compared to bats n supes.

This this this, Goyer needs to go he is the route of the problem his served faithfully now he needs to go. I mean how are you going to write a reboot with a guy who handled the previous adaptation.

In terms of action scenes, let's not forget the plane sequence from SR. I won't argue it for being the best but it sure did capture the character in classic fashion.
