In the Odeons in the UK there is DBox or something which is similar isnt there?
What that? I might go if it's something good.

I've experienced 4d at universal studio Sherk 4d. It was pretty sweet

Just found out my theatre has Dbox, and not of the video I just posted. :oldrazz:

Might have to try it out on one of my (hopefully many!) screenings of this movie.

If DOFP is been shown in one of the theatres with DBox i might just join in the fun and see it like that too!:woot:

Earlier in the year when i went to 47 Ronin the cinema i saw it in had a D-Box demo seat in the lobby.Unfortunatley the thing didn't work so i have no clue what it's like.
I might catch it in 4DX in the Philippines when I go in June :D

Really? That's great.

BTW i posted another 4DX poster (Korean) that didn't show in my earlier post.

That would be good it would top the unadjusted number of Last Stand

still this guy was wrong on ASM2 saying it would gross 325 Million domesticly.

Wow. Yeah. Way wrong on that Amazing Spider-Man number.

I don't think they counted on it not being received so well

yeah people predicting tasm2 to hit 300M wasn't that a big deal since tasm did okay-ish domestically. no one would have guessed the mixed wom, terrible rt score, even neighbours and godzilla opened way better than they were supposed to be. not a good year for spidey

back to dofp 220M-240 dom + 400M overseas to total of 640M seems fair for me. depending on compeptition from other movies like maleficent will make it a little bit higher or lower

Don't think many (myself included) would have thought ASM2 would struggle to hit 200m given Spidey's popularity and the gigantic marketing campaign SONY unleashed for this movie.
Damn that's not showing either Retro :(

This link should work.

It's officially Thursday May 22nd now and i will hopefully be seeing DOFP in about 18-20 hours time!:hubba
After checking the schedule i see that some cinemas here are really going all out with 8-11 showings a day in both 2D & 3D. At least people have that option on this movie.

If it wasn't for the competition, I'd easily flip those original predictions. The great buzz from the reviews along with the hype are going to give DoFP a great first weekend. The question is whether it will be able to hold the following weeks. But DoFP definitely has the first real shot of opening above $100m this year. In fact, it could go well past it.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

PROS:

- The assembling of the original cast and their younger counterparts from First Class, as well as the fresh time travel concept new to the genre on film, are potential "sum greater than the whole of its parts" strategies successfully employed by the likes of Star Trek and The Avengers.
- Online buzz has been exceptionally strong over the past year with a higher Flixster count than any other 2014 release and more Facebook fans than both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
- In addition to the popular Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence's presence should bolster appeal to women in the wake of her rise to stardom since First Class.
- This sequel returns to a Memorial Day opening, which last delivered a $123 million unadjusted 4-day opening for X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006.
- Bryan Singer returns in the director's chair for the first time since X2, and early reviews indicate he has successfully corrected the franchise's course. Word of mouth should drive this film's legs well into June.

CONS:

- A string of modest financial successes and varying word of mouth since X2 have left the franchise in a state of limbo, losing its event status with recent prequels and sequels.
- The breakout success of last weekend's Godzilla could mute upfront demand.
- As the third comic book movie to open in less than two months, are audiences burned out right now?
- Twitter activity has noticeably trailed that of both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Domestic Total through May 26
$115,000,000

It's so hard to tell how it will go. I never thought Godzilla would open to those numbers. So box office is really tricky. I think that it will do better than everyone is predicting, but that could be me just being hopeful. Also I think the overseas totals are going to be higher. X-Men movies always perform much better overseas.

This movie doesn't have to worry about breaking even. They went hardcore on the product placement, even their trailers have Mountain Dew big time and other stuff like Budweiser.

This movie will probably make at least 150million on product placement alone of a 230million budget. This movie should make a lot of money after theater grosses, product placement, TV rights, DVD sales and the gigantic increase in dvd sales for passed xmen films

And by dvd I'm meaning dvd, bluray and digital download

"If Funny People is any indication, Sandler hates himself, and in Blended he invites us to join him." -critic quote.

Usually, they don't let critics see Sandler films ahead of time and this is why. Blended is at 5% over on RT while X-Men is at 95%.

With Godzilla getting luke-warm word of mouth at best and now Blended getting blasted, do we smell an uptick in X-Men's box office?

I don't think Blended has much of anything to do with DoFP. Those going to Blended for some reason like Adam Sandler, like Drew Barrymore, and they might get a good amount of teen girls with Bella Thorne.

But on the whole, we aren't looking at the same demographics.

Sandler has only made three good movies, and all of them were back in the 90's.
